All I can say is Phil x is one of great guitar players of our time. What I like is he plays the way he wants to which makes him quite unique. He doesn't play every song the same , he plays it his way which is fantastic. Thanks for being refreshing.
It goes without saying that I love Phill, his playing and his comments. I've also gotta say some lovin' comments about the drills, they are awesome - the drumming and the bass are amazing. Thanks guys.
Old over the hill drummer here but always loved guitar since I was 6 yrs old when my Gma bought one for me but couldn't play a lick... I still try and collect a few today....love your vids,,,ur my guitar hero..lol
I think the cover song(s) that are performed with the band at the end of each video should be released as an album! Or as singles on iTunes. Some of them are truly awesome.
Considering you were basically playing a 50's/60's budget rig for the first part of this video, I don't see why people upgraded to LP standards and Marshall's. It sounds awesome!
Phil....tell Billy that his version of OH WELL is by far the best tribute to Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac ever, I still listen to it every time I have a MAC ATTACK!!!!!
totally dig the jams at the end. It never fails.. I watch these at work and EVERY DAMN TIME I wanna run home and practice! and yep - Randy is sick but hey, no love for the bass player? Homey kicks ass.
Hey Phil X, you rock! great playing and vocals as usual!! I always got inspired when I see your videos, just finish watching it and go grab my guitar to jam :))
I'm just back from my holydays (with no internet ) and i find out there's a new Phil X vid . And an awesome one with this magic cover of Funk 49. That's the cure when you're going back to work and you're a bit depressed. Thx to Phil, The Drills and FA.
Hey Man!!!! I picked up an old silver tone twin twelve like that from a friend a few years ago, and it really made me smile to see you play it. Mine still has the original tubes in it that test out great. I use my Bad Monkey to make her SCREAM!!!! This amp was worthless untill Jack played it on the tonight show, now I post pics on CL some times just to see the crazy offers I get.
Watching #philxfriday on fretted americana always brings a smile to my face! Great guy, great vids and great guitars! Your choice of tunes to review the instrument is always awesome! When I see that a new video is up, I'M F**KING HAPPY!!!! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Guadalajara, Mexico my friends! Hope to have you down here one day and share a bottle of fiiiiine Tequila!!! Saludos!
I gots a 74' Gibson L6S ( fell out of the unlocked case and snapped the headstock off leaving guitar camp class in 91'.It was repaired) Similar color to this LP Junior. I dream some day of putting a neck on it like the guitar in this vid
Thanks for the history lesson (TV yellow). The Extra zero is usually a technical term that means higher precision, they supposedly weighed it down hundredths of a pound, rather than just tenths of a pound. Though, whether that is true in practice remains to be seen.
Phil I'm self taught in guitar and am used to being lead guitar in a lot of bands and in some sessions and nothing else but I am getting into singing while playing now any tips on that?

Considering you were basically playing a 50's/60's budget rig for the first part of this video, I don't see why people upgraded to LP standards and Marshall's. It sounds awesome!

THEY FINALLY DID FUNK 49!!!
Wow! The drills rendition of funk 49 is way better than than the original! I had to watch it twice! Great job Phil x and the drills!
If you had ever seen it live you'd know that's not true. Haha. Saw them in person a month ago. It made me speechless.
HELL YEA! New Phil X!
I think it would be rad if Phil played a tom delonge start :D
Thanks for the history lesson (TV yellow). The Extra zero is usually a technical term that means higher precision, they supposedly weighed it down hundredths of a pound, rather than just tenths of a pound. Though, whether that is true in practice remains to be seen.

Man I love me a LPJ.. Honestly I haven't heard a bad sounding one, their
dog ear p90's just scream, awesome cover for reals.
+Reverend D I got a Junior for £400. The cost of the gear this bloke's on probably cost a lot more.
I know this music from Blues Saraceno record... didn't know it was a cover, great tune and great performance xD
That tone in 10:36 woaaa!
When Phil went into the Marshall to do Women in Love I was thinking "That's the sound!"
Hey Phil, I reckon you could do a great Brad Delp vocal. Please consider doing one of your arrangements to an early Boston track.
Maybe the Best Phil X Yet !!!
COWBELL.....hell yea...
