Ok here's the deal, if you have a real comment or constructive criticism you're welcome to state your case positive OR negative... If you're going to come on my channel and make ignorant statements, call names and just be an all around A**... I WILL REMOVE YOUR COMMENT... i'm over it.
I don't get why people are so negative about these videos.... I love them. Phil is a great player and the guitars are beautiful! frettedamericana
first off, when you reply to "Fretted Americana" you're talking to Dustin not me. 2ndly, uh... yeah... haters live in an imaginary place where people care about what they have to say. 3rdly... gotta love the "that's it... I'm unsubscribing right now" threat. that's just one more delusional soul that thinks they're more important than they really are & we (FA, Dustin, the REAL subscribers that DO matter & myself) could give a rats ass. but really... thanks for the entertainment.
No worries never dis'ed you or phil. Everyone involved here are the greatest in my opinion. Love the history and the demo's, and a thx out to tommy lee and his contribution. I hope to keep getting the awesome demo's.
Thank you from campton new hampshire!
Well electric gypsy blues....when you have toured with bon jovi played on countless records of huge artists and gets to play guitar for your job maybe we would believe you are not jealous. Plus the guitars may be overpriced for you but people still buy them.
Lol. When you prove this guy wrong or criticize something he'll delete your comment no matter what just because he wants to be seen as mister perfect by his fans. Also, every RUclipsr has to deal with that stuff. Grow some balls.
hey... i'd like to thank everyone for the positive comments that make us want to do better and the negative comments that prove to be entertaining. not everybody gets what we do but the ratio of those that get it to those that don't is a landslide so thank you all.
philx1111 Yeah that guitar has a big rich sound in "Saddest girl..." That guitar solo at the end credits is f*cking tasteful
philx1111 just keep rocking dude, when they complain about price, it just because they wish they could afford something better than the plastic "Guitar Hero" guitar they have
Man your a nut! Oh wait, so am I. I just wish I could play like that. Im getting there. I am paying attention. Keep up man!
Nice song. One suggestion, When you were playing with the drummer and bass, the video would look better if the camera was on a tripod and just the straight footage. The multiple camera angles and constant zooms on the center of the guitar body remind me of when they zoom in on the guy's nuts in a porn. The full unadulterated picture is always better then a close up.
philx1111 keep rocking and YOU have a kickass day!
Please don't ever stop making these videos! I swear no video makes my nights like these! Phil you rock man. Your energy makes it so entertaining to watch. And I always get a good laugh out of these videos. I'm building a LP Jr. DC because of these videos.when I heard them for the first time I was in love right away. I love the single p90. Still don't know what p90 to get for that vintage sound though. Take care man and thanks for doing what you do!
THE BASS! 1968 Telecaster Bass
Fender's first reissue of the original Precision Bass. This fine instrument has a 12 3/4-inch-wide solid ash 'slab' body and weighs just 8.70 lbs. One-piece fretted maple neck with a nice fat nut width of 1 3/4 inches, a full Fender bass scale length of 34 inches and a really comfortable thick neck profile. Twenty original jumbo frets, black dot position markers and small black dot side-markers. The neck is stamped "23 MAY 68 C." Single circular string tree. Headstock decal with Fender logo in silver with black trim. Individual Fender "paddle gear" tuners with "Fender" logo and with paddle-shaped metal buttons. Four-bolt neck plate with large Fender "F" logo and with serial number between the two top screws. Single-coil, light-gray pickup with four pole-pieces with an output of 6.65k. The underside of the pickup has "4-24-68 ea" written in black ink. Expert reproduction white plastic pickguard with eleven screws. Thumb rest with two screws on treble side of pickguard. Two controls (one volume, one tone) on a chrome-plated metal plate adjoining the pickguard. Chrome knobs with flat tops and knurled sides. The potentiometers are stamped "304 6642" (Stackpole October 1966). Combined two-saddle bridge/tailpiece. Complete with the two original pickup and bridge covers. This guitar is a great example in exceptionally fine (9.00) condition of one of these rare basses. The original Olympic white finish has mellowed over the years to a nice butterscotch color. There is virtually no wear to the original frets or the maple fretboard. There is an area of finish loss (approximately 2 1/2 x 1 inch) on the back of the body, a small amount of wear on the top bass edge from the players arm and a few small chips on the edges. This is one of the earliest and nicest Telecaster Basses that we have seen with a neck date of May '68. Housed in the original Fender black hardshell case with dark orange plush lining (9.00). Housed in the original Fender black hardshell case with dark orange plush lining (9.00). When we purchased this bass the original pickguard was missing and the pickup was not working properly. We had Chris Mirabella make a perfect reproduction pickguard and then we sent the bass to our expert luthier Scott Lentz who successfully restored the original pickup to its former glory.
frettedamericana Sick bass.
frettedamericana This post, like a certain horrific song, is all about that bass...with no bass.
When you've played as many guitars, amps, and effects as Phil I wouldn't even know what instrument I would use because so many sound great. It's like picking from super models.
I love your enthusiasm! You start to explain something but get caught up in a ruff and just go off like a kid. Phil, love watching you and the joy you bring to guitar. You are a wizard and a fan of guitar!
I fucking love all the different sounds you can get with that thing
holy shit. when that stereo kicked in, i seriously jumped back from my monitors. great sound!
Damn nice tone man, Wow he stereo is incredible. Talk about a wall of epic sonicness. killer licks on the saddest girl.
Love you Phil, you frikkin rock. Been watching your vids for a long time and I'm blown away each time. congrats on the jbj gig.
That was great fun Phil. Like the new song alot. The 345 really does blow the mind when the stereo kicks in. Nice!
Still can't get over how awesome the intro riff is :D
WhistlerPL thanks, man. although i can't take all the credit since it's definitely influenced by some sort of ZZTOP/Van Halen love child.
Hi from New Zealand Phil, I love love love all your stuff man, keep it coming, you are by far the coolest guitar demonstrator on the net, and your original music is kick arse!
This is one of those guitars where (almost) every single thing sounds good. Props for Phil, who keeps innovating even after a ton of these videos. When is that intro song coming out? Sick Van Halen influence.
Tonemaster still kicking!! Blue ribbon stashed on music stand. Your playing always mind blowing good!
Great video! It's fun, light, and entertaining. I really enjoy the demos and the light humor. I usually don't light demos online. But these are cool!
Probably my favorite guitar you guys have done in a long while. Seriously. That thing sounds beyond amazing. I don't get guitar lust very often anymore...but wow. I feel like a teenager again lol. Great playing as always Phil!
shkeptikal thanks man. i think it's one of my faves too. it's funny thatt sometimes i don't even realize until i see the video.
philx1111 dude, I hope you record that song with THAT guitar and gear. Killer.
I love how Phil Always plays Randy songs on hollow bodies. Tonalicious!
Love the new format with the drills playing at the end keep it up gents.
That was a great demo showing how good this guitar can sound, if it's played right. Phil X's " pure " playing style brings out the best in the instruments he demos.
Love your playing and attitude Phil! Keep rockin bro!
WickedSickMetal thanks man. it's great when people love what you love doing.
Thanks for the video. Fell in love with Gibson Stereo in 1980. If I find one for sale with walnut finish to match my artisan I will .... Well, you know.
Rock on Phil...!!! You can bend the neck on that fine 345.. We Trust you Dude...!
happy new year to you too Phil X :P
CROSS BETWEEN SAMMY HAGAR AND DAVID LEE ROTH VOCALS. GOT TO LOVE MR.X!
That guitar is beautiful.
Some how Marty Mcfly played one in 1955
When both amp is on, that blows my mind!!
Great band play at the end Phil!; always got cool guitar lick from your video
Cheers from Indonesia
Does anyone else want to see an album of classic covers like they play at the end of these videos? I would freaking love one, as good as the Drills originals are, I love Phil X on the blues and funk!
I come here for fun, besides great guitar reviews. Keep it rockin, Phill X!
I just want to jam with Phil X and try to find a classic song he doesn't know (doesn't exist most likely). His brain is like a classic rock library.
My god...the second the stereo kicked in I literally lent back and just mouthed "what the fuucckkkk"
Sounds just too damn good, keep up the awesome work
Cool video, as always, Phil. :-D
This really sounds good!
That stereo setting blew my mind!

With the stereo amps that guitar sounds amazing.
WOW what a great song!!
WoW! that ES-345 sounds Huge stereo with the tone master and the friedman! :D
One of my favourite guitars you guys have shown us so far this season. I don't know where all the hate is comming from suddenly, but i'm pretty sure a certain youtuber and his minions are (yet again) fueling it. Don't take all this hate seriously guys. I love your videos, your guitars and your banter!
Who?
What I love about these videos is invariably Phil will play something I haven't heard. I'll admit to looking up Steal Away (The Night). Killer riff! And that blistering (literally) chord progression between 10:25 and 11:18 that followed. What the...?
siskokidd i also love when that happens.
HOLY SHIT that thing sounded awesome through the Friedman
6:17 sounds like "Doin´ Alright" from the Queen debut record (73)...but then there´s Phil´s "hey!"
"Hay!"
Love your work Phil! Yes, you can rock on nylon saddles, and no, wood TYPE doesn’t matter... wood QUALITY does! Not everyone gets that haha
My god what a beautiful guitar. WOW I'm still playing on a no name guitar with a melted pick guard, only one pickup works, tuners are rusty. I got it for free. haven't been able to afford to fix it or buy a different one.
I hope one day to get a guitar like that one you are playing. it's so bad ass!
Phil X Fuckin rocks! great guitar skills.
Keep up the great work and keep the videos rolling in man, you rock.

philx1111 Cool new tune Phil....It's very kind of sort of, Black Crowes-ish, Which is not a bad thing at all. I dig!

Awesome guitar. I couldn't even afford to smell the frets but if I had the cash I'd make the plunge. Awesome guitar!

You can hear the strings singing behind the bridge at around 10:55. Quite a cool effect.
I love the Drills song at the end!

Another awesome video guys! Phil, you do ever rewatch the older FA videos? The one with this title is insane haha:
PHIL X GOES CRAZY! DOES INSANE HENDRIX ON A 1969 Fender Stratocaster 01020
I can't remember how many times I've watched it.
Greets!
- Ervin
***** The fuck is this comment? I didn't even mention the neck bending and you reply to me about it? Plus he didn't even bend it... 9:30 is for you.
And that's a pretty disrespectful video you've put up. He's just playing them, having fun. It's a guitar, not a museum piece... Besides, why are you so concerned, they are not your guitars. He never broke them so no harm done to affect their value. The owner is obviously okay with it, so why aren't you? If you don't like the vids, don't watch. Its that simple.
***** Don't pay attension to GypsyTroll. He he's just here to insult people. He tried it with me, but I guess someone rightfully took down his lame proposition. To bad he can't tell me what to do, so guess he's gonna just have to do it himself, since he feels, there's a need.
***** DUDE! Please just go away
When is the song gonna be fully released Phil.. i love the song and waiting
It's all about torque, compression, aaaand, wait for it.........tension! I love me some stereo wired instruments.
Andy Prokopyk 8?}
Here I am, 8 years later, combing through every minute of phil x footage I can find trying to piece together how to play SGITW ONLY TO FIND OUT this man is CONSTANTLY playing it differently! I love Phil X but he's frustratingly complex
You're on your A game today Phil....
Bary Bowman well...... let me just say that the guitar had a lot to do with it.
Want one! Want one! Can't afford one! Nice video though :-)
I need one of those
Hey Phil!! Listen don't get disheartened, there are plenty of dickheads out there and especially in the RUclips comments sections. Its amazing to see how many frustrated and ignorant people there are in the world. But hey..fuck em. You've been a great inspiration with your crazyass rock attitude and cool playing and singing and the world needs more dudes like you. You're the real deal man! Keep going...we need ya!!
Awesome!
Good stuff.
I miss PX! He knows how much pressure to APPLY! (It's all in the hands, man).
holy fuckin shit!!!!! that gibson paired with the friedman philx = balls to the wall tone \m/ :) loved it
Hey Phil X, I just got a Hallmark Swept Wing. I love it. I'd be interested in what you thought of these guitars. Love your videos! Cheers man!
Holy stereo! I'm listening on headphones and after you did the comparisons and went middle/stereo I was somewhat sonically mind blown! (please check out some of my musical offering videos :-)
Listening on headphones too, soon as he hit that e chord, I said out loud "holy shit" haha
Nico Scerri reading your comments i decided to put my headphones on, and dude this is fucking awesome :D
It freaking made my day on the HEY part!
Amazing video :D
sam bergstein ooooh yeah, 7:30 is wow
Return Mann!!!! (y)
Good best.....Passing Notes Approach?Thumb Over?
Friedman sounds so good!
I LIKED the song. I mean I REALLY liked the song. Interesting changes. Good lyrics.
That's some good shit.
Is that gonna be on your new one?
IPushHard thanks man. yes it will be on the new record. i wish i sang it better but by the time we got to it, my voice was burnt. glad you dig.
In places with that vari - thing one might almost replace an electro acoustic guitar. I remember reading in an interview that Alex Lifeson had a bypass switch for live situations to simplify things.
I love those 345'models in my opinion the destroy a 335 and there just so beautiful to behold, why do players moan about the baritone but put a load of pedads in the signal chain, if you doubt the class of this instrument go check out Freddy king!!!
You got a new subscriber Phil, you are funny and by god you can play the geetar :-))))
Hey Phil! Love your posts, but I'll admit I haven't watched them all. Just curious - have you ever played any Fastway? I'd love to see that!
Phil! that's a music stand not a beer stand!
amazing !
Great video and awesome guitar, 404 (Peugeot) like guy ^^
AND this 345 has a DOT NECK like you say, WOW, But didn't the ES355's have Block Inlays, while the ES345's normally had Paralellogram, did they not? Also, cool new song. Very Lenny Kravitz like.
