This has to be one of the best live rock versions of this song ever, and it’s a three piece! And that bass sound is freakin monstrous!! Well done lads. ❤️❤️❤️
First thing I noticed is what a lot of others noticed. That fucking bass. A freight train with tone. Some of you may remember Tim Bogart who had that same tone and fluid, powerful style. Tim recently passed away. His version of this song with Jeff Beck was monumental.
Sweet Jesus!! Always loved this song but this version is awesome!! Badass guitarist/vocalist with bass that drives like a train engine and drums so deep in the pocket he has to look up to see the floor of the Grand Canyon!!!
This is one of the best cover... Didnt bother with the strings out of tune while guitar solo but he manage it without ruinning the song... Best phil x....
I don't know who the bass player was , but he had one of the best bass tone I've heard in years! Who knew that a Fender Jazz bass could sound so monstrous. Bravo.
GENIAL,BUENA MUSICA,GRACIAS A LOS CAMBIOS DE RITMOS DE INSTRUMENTOS Y VOZ NO SE HACE MONÓTONA LA MÚSICA COMO OTRAS BANDAS,SOIS UNOS GENIOS,ABRAZOS DESDE ESPAÑA
Bro, this is how it should be played, pocket, groove, energy, it has it all. That bass and kick drum are keeping it all together with a masterful guitar and singing. Un gusto escucharles, buenisima esta version.
OMG! Three super talented rock gods that sound like a 6pc. As a bass player I can't even begin to hold candle to Daniel. That sound is just something else. WOW & friggin more WOW! What a band!!!!!
When the bass gets as much attention as it has in this video, the bass player is killing it! Most bass gets ignored. I had a Jazz bass like this as my first pro bass. If it had sounded like this, I wouldn't have sold it. It had an ivory white body with a blond maple fretboard. It also came with the pickup covers, which I removed. I couldn't even hear mine. it was "thud thud thud". I sold it to get a RIC 4001 (which I could hear).
Great job...its so difficult to play riffs like that and singing at the same time. Also amazing tone in your voice. Respect man. You're amazing. Great band.
The low E on the bass sounds like it could flatten people to the ground. One thing I really like about my 5-string basses is I can slap the open 4th E string and the 5th fret on the low B for another E, string, and it sounds very heavy.
It's rare to hear a cover that's better than the original, especially a Stevie Wonder song, but I think we have a winner here.. Would you agree Stevie?
Performed this for the first time yesterday in front of an audience... My daughter told me this morning she had no idea I could hit that high note. 😂We love doing this version!
So, I have every intention of doing this version (I may have to compromise my vocal) in my cover band. I'm the bass player. My forearms are on fire trying to keep up! I've only been playing bass as my primary instrument for about a year and a half, but have played guitar for 35 years, and have a few years of drums under my belt as well. This version smokes, and it's my current "Everest". I WILL conquer! And thank you, for the best version of this kick ass song, ever performed!
Just wow...a 1.....a 2...just counting it off like that, stablishes the groove.....3 piece version i was looking for reference. A Master Class watching you nail this one. Just when you thought....this guys sent you back to school! Fnkg awesome guys!!!
@4:45 Guitarrist playing awesome solo: Dat don't sound right, lemme just tune my E string real quick. *turns knob* *continues playing like nothing happened* Respect! You rocked that song so good! :-)
I don't think many people noticed... It looks like something got loosened after all that heavy bending, the next notes were out of tune, and this guy saved the take in no time, in addition to being a beast player and singer. Amazing!
Look at you Phil, playing with a neck pickup! Good on you! *kidding* I’ve been a fan since my first view of your talent. And, damn - your bass player is simply “smoking” - and a great singer in his own right. You bring such joy to the simple participation of playing music. And you do it with your 🥜 out! Love what and who you are, PhX.
Playing this hopping riff and singing at the same time, without missing a beat. Super fkn musician. RESPECT
The whole band plays killer !!
You know, I also tried...until I needed to start singing. :D :D
Un p
LOVE the bass in this cover
Freaking awesome. The bass line sounds like a concrete wall.
Godzilla’s footsteps
I was thinking that, Phil is a great player, however the bass elevates this beyond.
Totally agree - that bass sounds reminds me of Dug Pinnick - you need that kind of sound in a three piece
I need to save this for backup. Hell of a performance this is.🎶❤️🎶
Bass sound like tank
Man I never get tired of this. Ever. Pocketful of pocket.
And that’s how a 3 piece should play that. Absolutely amazing!!
The best bass sound I have heard on a RUclips video
Yeah. Fat .....
Thanks for your comment. I'm not here often to reply and talk with you, add me on Google Hangout,Philx5858@gmail.com I'll keep in touch over there.
Me too brother. Got diabetes since ‘08 an never heard it better before or since.
This has to be one of the best live rock versions of this song ever, and it’s a three piece!

Well done lads. ❤️❤️❤️
Z
all VERY DUE respect to stevie wonder, these guys owned this song.
First thing I noticed is what a lot of others noticed. That fucking bass. A freight train with tone. Some of you may remember Tim Bogart who had that same tone and fluid, powerful style. Tim recently passed away. His version of this song with Jeff Beck was monumental.
Tim Bogert*
Tuning your guitar mid solo is still the biggest flex in this whole video
Outstanding bass sound. took this cover to another level
You should see their cover of My Sharona. Kicks ass, just like this one does.
I listen to this over and over for the bass.
Being a bass man I'm partial.
A finger picker as well.
i love that bass-line
Phil is a beast! Guitar singing and showmanship. Oh let's not forget the Drills. Those 2 holdig down the groove like they were from Motown.
lead guitar and vocal at the same time . he is good .
Sweet Jesus!! Always loved this song but this version is awesome!! Badass guitarist/vocalist with bass that drives like a train engine and drums so deep in the pocket he has to look up to see the floor of the Grand Canyon!!!
Yessss
I always come back to this cover when I am in the mood to get my mind blown
Same
Amen
same:))
That bass line is tight!
This is one of the best cover... Didnt bother with the strings out of tune while guitar solo but he manage it without ruinning the song... Best phil x....
This is by far my favorite lineup. Tight.
This is the best power trio version of Superstition I have ever heard. Loved the Godzilla bass tone!
Phil is one of the best rock guitarist on the planet, nothing new. But I didn't know how good a singer he is.
I never tire of listening to this!
The whole band absolutely groove the back end out of this classic....just brilliant x
Now that's a bass sound.
Perhaps an octaver included?
@@muxmurki1497 nah, just GIANT, fucking balls.😮
I don't know who the bass player was , but he had one of the best bass tone I've heard in years! Who knew that a Fender Jazz bass could sound so monstrous. Bravo.
Beck, Bogert & Appice did a cover of Stevie’s iconic groove back in the 70’s and it held its own … until now!
Kudos, gents - a triumphant triumvirate!
That bass is a gut wrencher, brilliant.
One of the greatest videos on RUclips.
This is tough. I like this a lot. A lot.
Coolest guitarist around. Love watching him play and his interviews.
Damn this is a great rock cover that still does justice to the groove and soul.
Awesome cover !! Daniel Spree is an awesome bassist and he's got that Jazz sounding absolutely nasty.... love it :-)
Yeahhhhhhhh great !
Looks like Matt Starr on drums. great beat. Love Phil. such a player.
Touching such a masterpiece is always risky, but you guys nailed it!

The best cover of an already great tune.
Dam that bass is as deep as the Marianas Trench. That is a helluva fat pocket for Phil to dance in.
I'm going to steal this line lol.
Me to 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Loved every minute of it.
Fender JB. That´s it ....

OMG! Three super talented rock gods that sound like a 6pc. As a bass player I can't even begin to hold candle to Daniel. That sound is just something else. WOW & friggin more WOW! What a band!!!!!
Started seeing Phil on U-tube & that he is just naturally talented you start collecting bandmates , RIPPIN BASS ! GREAT JOB
Complete musician this guy….Incredibly talented, shame he never made it big
Replacing Richie Sambora in Bon Jovi isnt making it big...?
Amazing version. Love it!
Dan the sound you are getting is fn wicked !!!!!!!
Extremely groovy and tight. That bass tone is outrageous
Very powerful and creative version of this classic!
OMG great performance. This guitar is the spark in My life
Love the way the lead guy tunes while shredding !!! A sign of a true Guitarist
Wow ... I was a teenager when that came out . Great job guys .
The bass. Solid. Like no other.
That kicked ass! This kiddies is how we real musician/singers do it!
Not only a killer guitarist, but a killer vocalist. This guys got it all…
Damn!!!! Smokin rendition!!!
Props to bass player and drummer, great back up for Phil🙆💯🎶🙏🙋
It doesn't get any better than this.
too bad this version isn't on spotify, best rendition of superstition ever.

Great cover. On a side note…this song was recorded and released by Jeff Beck before Stevie Wonder.
Stevie wrote it for Jeff in return for him playing on his album, then Stevie also released it.
He didn't get that bass tone playing at church.
Your not wrong. Sounds 🔥🔥🔥
Yes he did.
Comment winner 😂 🏆
C est juste d'enfer les gars, j'adore l ambiance entre vous , ça fait envie, le batteur est somptueux comme vous trois , merci
So happy this video is saved; absolutely the most tasteful rock cover of this song to be uploaded, ever!
Yeah man i agree with you!
Phil is a monster, tune while you rock this is over the top!
Very good carving of a guitar neck like my father liked to say watching VHS with J.H. live.
Great job...its so difficult to play riffs like that and singing at the same time. Also amazing tone in your voice. Respect man. You're amazing. Great band.
Studio 606.. Beautiful

The best this song was ever played, Phil X is amazing. Awesome bass and drums too,🎶
Three absolute killers and Dan's bass tone sent straight from the god of thunder.
I have no words... er well.. impeccable comes to mind

Thank you for saving this gem!
This is kick ass Phil. For real, at your best here
This is the best cover by far. These guys are JAMMIN
That bass sound is superb..hell yeah🤘🏾
Super talented player, love his chromatic choices and singing.

Phil- you have a great voice! Then there’s that awesome guitar playing…. Bob from Spokane Valley, WA USA

@4:45 Guitarrist playing awesome solo: Dat don't sound right, lemme just tune my E string real quick. *turns knob* *continues playing like nothing happened*

You rocked that song so good! :-)
Looked like it was the B-string???
@@JD-iu3vi Guess you're right. Still an awesome tuning-action though. 😃
@@henrikkoberstein You are right about that!

This is fantastic !! Watched it so many times - My god that bass
Very pure sound! You guys Rock the Roll off it!!!
What happened that this original gem was lost? Kudos to Ulas for saving this!!
A copyright issue friend.
When Phil goes into that rhythm groove @ 1:20 that just makes it so much better. That was epic.
The caps on my teeth are coming loose .great band❤
Esse cover é perfeito do começo ao fim!! Eu amo o baixo nessa música 🤩 kisses from Brazil.
Wow, they've absolutely smashed this. One of the greatest records of all time.
❤️👍✌️🙏💪
This is the best version by a 3 PC band I've ever heard!!!
This is how you've got to groove! Thumbs up!
F in Excellent keep playing it I can smell the marshall amp tubes on the point of break up

Nice job you give it that Stevie Ray Vaughn sound and Stevie Wonder combination and combined it with your own style.
