that drummer, nailed it
That was awesome. You nailed it Thank you. Been listening to that song since 1970 and still rocking to it at 73 YO.
Yeah baby
The drumming was insane
One of the greatest Sabbath songs ever.
I could have Sworn i saw the bassist Turn into Geezer Buttler!!!!!!!!!
That was fucking awesome. Best version of that song I've ever heard. Phil X is a true master. A legend unfolding before our very ears. God Bless you boys !
NIGEL in Canada🇨🇦
'ya baby'
awesome guys 🎶🎵
As cool as that SG sounds in Phil’s hands, this rhythm section is crushing. Bill and Geezer would be pleased.
I can't get over how well intonated that guitar is.
Usually here for a dose of Phil but found myself really digging Matt's drumming. In fact, the drums & bass had a great pocket going on. Of course Mr. Phil-X is always awesome.
That rhythm section is every guitar player's dream, for sure! 👊🍻
I like the Asian style mustache and beard....very cool
Right?!?! I can really appreciate a great drummer and Bass player as well. They all sing harmony vocals... simply stellar! I wish other content creators had this much dedication 🖤🤘
No faeries died in the making of the AWESOME Sabbath Masterpiece, A billion appreciations Phil X & The Drills!!!
3 guys making rock n' roll. Says it all.
Thanks Phil for inspiring my then 8 year old to play electric guitar. I said at the time when he turns 12 if he is still playing guitar and is really passionate about it I will by him a "real" Gibson SG. Well in 6 months time I'll be buying him that guitar and I blame you. Lol
Walkthrough Videos that's awesome. & you're welcome. WOOHOO!!!
Almost 12? I’m almost 62 and Philx1111 is inspiring me, too! (Thanks, Phil! Long time & sounding real good, man!)
Holy shit 62 i hope instill look good at 62 i was getting depressed as fuck about being 40 lol
You rock Phil! That drummer is killing it what a monster groove 🤟
If your the first reply, Phil will reply👍🏻👍🏻
Matt Starr is a beast on dem drums!🥁
Now this band is what my 53 year old ears want to hear instead of the crap that's being played on the radio today. Fantastic stuff with a fresh take from some very talented people. Thanks so much.
My 61-year old ears concur brother.
I'm just turning 53 this year and after watching this vid am now thinking about changing career from an IT/data guy to a rock star - I'll keep you posted! (wish me luck!)
@@MrArchie800 How's it going?
My 73 years old ears (what's left of them), agrees. Great cover.
lolll ROCK 'N ROLL!!!
Great band. Love that drummer. Never knew Ming the merciless was that cool. ! 🎸👌
Ming's got some sick groove, Bill would approve.
MoosicDude Unfortunately its not grove needed here -its SWING
hahah i thought of GG Alin but yeah!
You mean Mingo Starr? couldn't help it - him bein' an actual Starr and all..... 🤡
THAT'S MING ?!
My favorite Sabbath tune, justice was done!
The drummer in this video is a beast ! Mad skills love it
Dan KILLED it on the bass! Did Geezer proud.
Drummer is kicking ass! Great vocals.
Sennstrato ditto. Drummer killing it. These guys throw down
PHILX about 1:48 looks over at drummer
“DAMN DOG “ !
Props on that drum sound. That kit is the bees knees. Drummer is amazing too obviously. People don’t tune drums right anymore
LoL! I do drum covers on my RUclips. My drums are tuned the way I like them and I only use the Nikon microphone on the camera. I enjoy playing with no frills. I do not think it is the tuning, so much as it is overuse of electronics and drum machines.
i was thinking the same way.i am an old drummer who had to goto guitarr>damn He is tight and that kit tone WOW.
@dbltrplx I think you need your ears cleaned out - one of the best recorded drum sounds I have ever heard
@dbltrplx You're the best.
@dbltrplx 😂😂😂
Power trio, smilin bass player, kick ass drummer and phil x killin it both with vocals and guitar. Great job!!!
What a beautiful sounding. Sounds aweeeeesome
The drummer OWNS this one. 😎🤘
That snare sound 🤩! Focused, tight and in tune
Daniel is such an underrated bass player. Playing Geezer stuff greasing the notes the right way, making it sound right and meaning fucking business takes time and talent. Matt on drums is powerful as fuck, too. And you, well... You're fucking Phil X, YA-YA! hahahaha Awesome talent and awesome gear!
Yes! Great guy, too.
That was tight and spot on! I miss Phil X fridays. Had come get a dose.
Drumming was absolutely spot on,these guys are amazing. 😂
That sounded killer. Just 3 dudes makin all that sound. Everybody put in a killer performance especially the drummer.
Rhythm section is sick. Nice job guys.
What a track by Geezer. Holy shit.
I think this is the best Drills line up with Daniel Spree on bass and Matt Starr on drums.
Motorhead poster, drummer sporting a Thin Lizzy tee.
Band playing a bloody excellent cover of FWB.
Kudos from England lads. 🤘
I"m 60 years old and I just heard this, one of the best rocking version of this Sabbath tune I've ever heard, ever, and from a THREE PIECE! You guys rock! Smokin band, you're all very professional!
What a powerhouse this was: Fu Man Chu on drums is awesome...! \m/
I hope Phil is as cool in person as he seems on RUclips, love that guy!
He is, I met him this February at the Birmingham guitar show, had a chat with him and he signed my Strat I just bought.
Everyone I've ever seen mention him says he is exactly what you see. Killer dude
That was definitely 3 guys making rock & roll, great video 👍
Dammit...I had headphones on and started singin and woke (scared) the hell outta my sleeping wife beside me. Hahaha oops... such a great era of music...not over played or over hyped with computer tech. Love it guys... bass was spot on too. 10/10
Phil, I remember you when we where 17! You the Bomb Man!! no body close! Thanks!
Yep, one of the coolest tunes ever. Very well played.
Awesome Phil and that Bonham sized kit sounded incredible,ROCK ON.

This is GREAT in so many ways!!! A power trio playing live. Imagine that. I'm home. :)

OMG that was amazing!
I stumbled over this cause I'm just learning the song. This version is the best cover version in the whole net!!!!

You guys play great together ! Fun to watch players respect the original Sabbath . Totally dig it !
SICK!!!!!! I feel the Vibe... I feel the Groove!!!!
Fantastic cover! Loved the drumming ❤❤❤❤👏👏👏 these guys are awesome ! ❤
Thanks Phil. Love this song! The first song I learned to play on bass in 1999, still has the best groove of any licks on rock bass. I was a classical guitarist who wanted to start playing in bands but knew nothing about amps or mics or equipment or performing or singing, so I bought a bass, and put an ad in the paper looking for rock & blues band. Within 3 weeks we playing at the HOG club in Decatur IL, then the billiard hall, bowling alley, campus pubs, corporate Caterpillar picnic etc... We played all over the state from East St. Louis to Bloomington, Springfield, and Champaign, and it all started with this song! Ever need a back-up bass player......:)
Holy CRAP GENTS this is so much better than I ever thought possible. No offence, haha! Hot damn this was good. All of you nailed your respective elements.
Phil I dig your style on Sabbath covers 🤘🤘 hard to top this one
Beautiful. Saw Phil X with Bon Joni at Anfield stadium, Liverpool last year. Brilliant. One of the best concerts I’ve seen. Cheers!🏴👍🏻
Where is this band from? Scousers?
one of the greatest tracks ever written!! great work phil x and team !
The Drummer is sooo good. Woah love it.
Love this song, always a great one to jam. You boys did it justice :)
Always looking for Phil X jams that I haven't seen before to check out. And he _never_ disappoints, always comes with the fire. Phil certainly did Tony Iommi justice with his guitar work on Fairies Wear Boots here.
I am in love with that SG , it sounds amazing. These guys are all top notch 💪
These guys are tight. The My Sharona cover was the first one I saw and it blew me away. Then every other one did too.
Phil, Matt and Daniel... My fav Drills line up. MAN I MISS PHIL X FRIDAYS!!! I think I was there from day 1 on Fretted Americana. There have been a few others that attempted to take the reigns, but haven't been able to hold on. I suppose it's like lightning striking twice...
My favorite Sabbath tune, ..........done justice.
Magic is in the fingers not the gear. Love the way you use dynamics and touch to control sound. Beautiful 🍻
I don't watch videos more than once but I have to say I'm on my 3rd watch. Done to perfection.
Good thing it didn't skip. lol You're right up there with the greats Phil and you've certainly earned a claim to fame for your resume/achievements. All the best and I really enjoy watching you play and hear and see how dedicated to the guitar and music as you are. Take care. I thought differently way back.
Faithful to the original, excellently produced and impeccably performed! ROCK ON!!!!
Godlike!!! You have the voice of an angel, Mr. X!!
Wow!! Loved that. Great, well played guys👏👏👏. Always loved this track. I bought Paranoid the album 1971 , first album I ever bought. Love every track. Proper music. Great to hear a proper bunch guys play this so well. I’d pay good money to see you play this live. 👏👏👏👍🇬🇧
This mix is insane! wtf!!!
Thanks Phil. I used to look forward to hearing from you every Friday. It’s great to see you putting some videos up again. I just watched the Tim Pearce one.
Oh, those time changes….spot on. I’m happy to see rock is not dead.
Long live rock!!!

Holly cow Batman, you gotta listen to this on 11 with headphones! 🤯
I gotta say, as great as Phil is on the SG, good lord the bass is ON POINT HERE. Very well done lads.
Awesome job guys. Hadn’t heard that song in decades. 3 dudes crushing it. Thanks.
Mmmm , my music. You guys really rocked it hard too. That era and album is really the only thing that really matters in life.
