- Phil X jams A Zeppelin Medly and Walk All Over You, by AC/DC, in a small bar in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
Although the venue only had a small riser for a stage, a low ceiling, two light stands and a tiny sound system, the local audience was treated to an amazing night of rock on August 29th 2009. The Musicians in the jam night included; Guitarist (Phil X), Bassist (Kevin Gingrich) and Drummer (Paul Hoffman).

Phil X spent a few years kicking around the club scene in Toronto, Canada. It wasn't long before he started developing a reputation as a guitarist with some serious power behind his sound. One day, after a twist of fate, he was asked to play for Tommy Lee. The next day he was in the studio and began recording guitars for MCA's Methods of Mayhem (Dec.'99). Since his reputation as being a raw, inventive and energetic guitarist got around, Phil X has recorded with Daughtry, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Rob Zombie, Gavin Degraw, Alice Cooper, Andrew W.K. and many more.

As a vocalist and guitar player...what Phil is doing live....is top tier calibur.
He could tour with his song list.
He is better than 95% of what the pop culture is trying to feed us all.
Rock lives.
Malmsteen, MacAlpine and other great guitarists have been playing to audiences of only 200 since around 1994 because only guitarists are interested in other guitarists.
Not many guitar players enjoy playing more than Phil. Love this guy.
Totally agree, Phil is garage jamming all day everyday, just having totally fun with it, and thats what music is all about....FUN

Andrew Howsmon he has done everything he possibly can to make that thing stay in tune lol. Graphite nut etc, Wouldn’t be surprised if he uses titanium hardware lol

@rockynashfilms no i know he does that or he uses the tuning keys, but i have seen some video where he plays the 12th fret e and b string harmonics then he starts turning his guitar and the note lowers while he does it

At the 0:44 second mark, the riff is from "In the light". Wasn't sure if that might have been the riff you were talking about since its lesser known than Misty Mountain Hop.

@mattparrish123 In the light is the first, then it goes to Misty Mountain Hop which is the one he sings on.
In the light is off of Physical Graffiti, Misty Mountain Hop is off of Led Zeppelin IV.
@yamahabmxer1, @heyhelveeoneforeyt A P94 in the bridge position, which is a P90 shaped like a humbucker. He leaves the neck position empty, and sometimes puts a fan cage over the hole.

Amazing night first time I saw Phil play blew me away !
I had no idea he was Canadian. This guy is top level talent. I'm sure he could have done anything he wanted to do musically. Can't blame the guy for being a hired gun. Would love to see this guy play live if we went out on his own!

@gtamodman122 It's not sg, it's ESP LTD Viper. they look very similar and it's clearly inspired in the sg, but this one is asymmetrical (and some other differences, but in the body that's the most characteristic)

He's got alot of key issues but heck when the rubber hits the road and I mean ''HIT'' you're not gonna find a whole better answering to the call as of what we can relate to!
If you've got a guitar you're curious about he's there, how it is and not be,.. dangit he's one key to bringing it on no ifs and buts about it,..plus he is a small step that fills some really ''BIG'' shoes to fill and in critical terms he displays a prowess very seldom seen and it is a crazy business so the crazier the better!
