Stop-Motion Transformation of Cang Toys CT-Chiyou-04 Kinglion. Another solid figure from Cang Toys. Only two to go! He’s a bit fiddly with all his decorative bits all over. I plan to do the wolf/foot guys separately in a final combination video when the time comes.

Production Note: Whew these triple-changers are a real pain in the ass. Next week I’m going to shoot that Bowu School tank guy just to have an easy one. I did a unique edit for the blueprint opening to hide the big combined reveal. Surprise!
Viewing Note:
If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.

When the combiner head was flipped up, I thought "wow, that looks kind of small for a combiner size" and then during the turn-around when the arms got added I realized how well it works. This whole Predacon set is doing something stylistically different from any other combiner set I've seen and is absolutely killing it. Whoever these people are at Cang Toys are not only great figure designers, but also great character designers.

It might be considered Predaking, but I still think I'll be calling this Predagod. I have the extenders in his cannons and they look pretty cool. Can't wait till the rest of these guys. So I saw on Showz that there is another unique combiner coming out from Zetatoys/Easytoys that are battleships.
And don't forget, Cang is planning a 6-dino dinobot combiner in this same aesthetic. Have you seen the other ToysEasy Yamato battleship/Samurai figure? Or the one that turns into a WWII rail artillery gun?
@@peolesdru Yeah. They look pretty cool, I don't know of they'll be part of the combiner or not, but I think I might end up picking them up. Never had anything from Zeta itself. Have things from their offshoots, but that's it.

i was interested in cangtoys untill i realized the predacons would look better as fantoys, but i'd buy only two of them (not including divebomb). the cats transform the same way, the herbivores transform the same way, and divebomb's too easy. signed, thomas

I went into this thinking Liger Zero from Zoids on steroids. And that's a hell yeah in my book. then when it Transformed I started thinking: "Makes an interesting Razorclaw, if only it had that transforma..." and then it did and its fricking awesome! Yeah, I want to see more. And no, at no time did I think Bayverse. This is absolutely its own incarnation. A wicked one at that!
Yeah, I don't get a "Bay" vibe from this kind of thing at all.

This aesthetic is starting to grow on me. The color scheme definitely helps. Excited to see the rest of these guys and whatever else is down the pipeline.
P.S. Unique Toys Desperado is very close to being fully available and I'm so excited not only to get him but to see what you do with him.
Well sure, they're both lions after all. The one in my profile is Perfect Effect Leonidas. The Cang dinobot combiner should also be stunning. I am very much anticipating getting the shipping notification for UT Desperado! UT is my favorite.

Do you keep all of your figures or do you resell some of them immediately after filming?
I'm greedy and I keep them. I tend to only get things I would want anyway.

I wish I could love the designs of these toys, but I just… can’t. All the pointy jaggedy vaguely Bayish stuff has the potential to be awesome, but on the nigh indistinguishable Predacons it all just mushes together - I don’t know where to start looking. Course, it’s probably more a problem on my end - I’m the kind of guy who can barely tell the Aerialbots apart.
Bay is just random bits of twisted metal mashed up into a vaguely humanoid shape. This set is very anime mech inspired (so many pointy bits flaring outward, bulky legs and shoulders) with Kinglion definitely taking cues from Zoids.
Cool but not a fan of the "Zoid-former" style personally.
