Figure Note:
Stop-Motion Transformation of Cang Toys CT-Chiyou-05 Thorgorilla. Fascinating transformation to combiner mode. Make note of that ever-so-slight single click of the thigh going to pants mode - you pop that thigh joint one click, put the panels in place, and then click it back to lock in the panels. I forgot to show those small panels on the front of the shins closing - do be sure to have those open when going back from pants to robot mode because otherwise they get in the way of the foot armatures rotating around. They are also handy to have open going to pants mode because it gives you a finger-sized window to push on the combiner peg to get it out. Also, you may want to open up the gorilla-side chest to help get out the waist combiner peg going to pants mode. Also also, it can help to completely open up the forearms so you can push out the robot fist going from pants to robot. Only one more to go! The plan will be to shoot the Rhino video (when he comes out) and then do a big supercut that includes the transformation of the feet/wolves.

Production Note: Not too difficult. You’ll see the pants twitch on the turn-around because the damned thing didn’t like to stand consistently.

If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.

Predaking's sword is HUGE! Guess Headstrong will have the two swords for the wolves.
I also blame you for me starting to collect these 3rd party Transformers. I originally thought I would just be getting Unicron and that would be it, but then I saw your video on Cang Toys Rampage and knew I had to get this set. And why not pick up some other friends along the way.

This isn’t supposed to be Apeface. This is an original character Cang Toys made up so their version of Predaking would have a stronger waist and pair of thighs. The “pants mode” you’re asking about refers to the waist/thigh mode.
How do we get him to keep a hold of his hammer? There are no tabs to slot into his hands

There is actually a little tab that pops out and prevents you from being able to pull the legs off.
Ironically, gorillas have smaller private parts than humans in real life. Does this mean the Predacons are compensating for something?

He’s an original character made to be the crotch, I guess they couldn’t find a way for razor claw to also be the crotch as well as the torso. So they settled with making this guy
