A pure petrol engined version would be preferable but the government are pushing us into electric versions and a plug in hybrid only makes sense if you do lots of local journeys ( and want to do it on electric ) and you can charge it at home overnight. Otherwise it’s simply adding cost and weight.
One thing is for sure, I don't enjoy breathing in exhaust fumes, especially from large old vehicles that create the black smoke of death as they step on the gas pedal.
Hybrid means more things to go wrong: battery pack, electric motor etc etc. Also that huge display is awful and annoying like in Teslas, def not going to buy one like this.
Best VW Passat B9 Review I have been able to fully enjoy... thanks very much!

just dont spec the increased screen. the standard one looks far better
I have a tdi 2.0 waiting for me to checking out, I'm in Sweden
I dont like this oversized infotainment screens. In 2030 they'll put a home cinema in the dashboard.
Ugly design, but otherwise probably one of the better cars you can buy.
not my cup of tea
