Among all the other abilities a Wild Card Persona user has: they can tank a lethal hit once per battle, remaining at 1 hp (which is good, since the MC going down is an instant Game Over)
Imagine getting stabbed by a drug addict, only to wake up, unable to move and forced to be conscious for your OWN AUTOPSY! That was just the first 2 ways Diavolo died.
I can't believe I just got this. During that victory screen where Joker received money and the arrow, it showed +0 experience, because Gold Experience (Giorno's Stand) was reduced to zero.
So just some triva Yaldabaoth or Demiurge, who joker kills with sinful shell in persona 5 is the Gnostic evil god of the old testiment, you know the one that created the world in 7 days, supposedly, yeah he shot that god in the face.
for anyone upset they used a NON-cannon feat to show Giorno loses, why are you upset??? You read the MANGA, you KNOW Golden experience doesn't exist anymore. WHY? WHAT!?! Sounds like a stand in the manga overcame GER, and the REST of the manga happens BECAUSE GER can be overcome. HOW are we in a reset jojos universe with no Giorno if GER can block EVERYTHING. Even the manga supports this win.
Are you stupid? Or just misinformed. The universal reset didn't kill or harm anyone. Everyone in the universe was still alive, just playing through their fates. They're then brought to the new universe with the knowledge of their whole lives. That was the POINT of the reset. It is NOT an attack or something that would harm Giorno and he had no reason to stop it. He didn't even know. So GER didn't activate. Braindead. And if you mean the Steel Ball Run and Jojolion universe, they're completely unrelated to Pucci's reset.
They didn't include it into the fight but the storyboards apparently reveal that there was an extra part to the end Joker would have to fight inside Giorno's Palace to actually summon a Persona, so even though Giorno exploded it was all in his mind and death inside a palace/the metaverse just causes a mental shutdown to who died. GER being automatic would revert the damage to Giorno thus undoing his mental shutdown death. Since Joker took Giorno's treasure and presumably made it out of the palace with it it would then trigger a change of heart for Giorno Giorno is still alive, just a better person which is the ultimate goal of the Phantom Thieves so technically fans of both sides win in the end if you count the storyboards
yeah but the bad part was he didn't went to florida aka Jojo part 6 which in turn made a butterfly effect where yknow Made In Heaven happened though it makes sense why
(spoilers) No? literally in the first or two palaces in the game, it's said that if a person is incapacitated or killed in the metaverse/palace, then that would mean the person in real life would meet said consequences. Which is why they never kill the enemy.
@critical_6164 also spoilers but we see that mental shutdowns are not instant deaths as haru's dad who has a week constitution survived for a time, which would allow GER to do its thing
@@thejester4130 (spoilers) Yeah? A mental shutdown is acquired only when a person is close to being killed, if a person is fully killed in the metaverse then they meet the same fate in the real world. Eitherhow this was a testament to power vs power, not who survived, even though giorno didn’t.
@@critical_6164 okay I'm confused by your point, I'm not saying it wouldn't cause a mental shutdown, it would, that just doesn't kill instantly, as (spoilers) Haru's dad lived pass the shutdowns for a little but as he was taken by an ambulance, and he has poor constitution so realistically giorno would last longer. The reason other shutdown victims die is they were hit by cars or were in other accidents, it kills them yes, but not instantly. So Ger could undo the effect after the shutdown occured
It really could’ve gone either way in my eyes. Had joker opened with Satanael anywhere before the final shot, Giorno could’ve used requiem to counter it. Having spoken to jojo enthusiasts about GER, death battle was a bit off the mark in terms of how GER worked, although even with their explanation, I still would think that it would be either or. Joker got the win through doing satanael at the last second, giving Giorno no time to think and counter as they believed GER did him in immediately. I could see the same happening other way around had joker pulled out satanel first and Giorno uses GER to finish joker off
By the way, the storyboards confirm that real-world Giorno had his mental shutdown from his metaverse death negated by GER, making him the first character to entirely survive his battle with no extra stipulation.

Maruki’s persona is literally a better version of GER because he can on top of denying reality also manipulate reality to his will and joker still beat him and Maruki even admits if he tried to redo the fight over again he would still lose everytime also denying reality is still a form of reality manipulation which Joker negates out right. Unshaken Will automatically prevents the user from being inflicted with any mental-type effect, He is also straight up uneffected by Fate as he has broken Fate before that is the power of the wildcard + Rebellious Will makes him immune to reality warping he can basically say "no" and he is free from it. Enduring Soul heals him to full at the moment of death. It was shown when joker and akechi confronted him early that they were no match for even a lackey of maruki by themselves. also it seems that "null" reflects on affinities not just straight up any attack. If almighty truly went through all defenses, then you couldnt raise your defense to it in the first place. almighty doesnt go through reality, it never has. if it did then naoto couldnt straight up nullify it in p4 with a regular spell. maruki also stops spells including almighty in his fight. enuring soul revives him once, but he dies infinite times so i mean, there ya go lol. im js they had plenty of things to give joker, just lazy to say almighty goes through reality cuz it never has and never will.
The only thing I hate about this death battle is the fact they used the Jojo GAME as evidence to claim GER could negate Made in Heaven, which if he could, he would have... and then theres the whole BS about GER getting negated by TWOH which isn't even canon.
What's funny is without Eyes of Heaven GER gets nerfed because it didn't use RTZ on MiH in canon even though Giorno was being affected by it. So either way Giorno's ability isn't strong enough to negate almighty

@phillemon7664 My opinion is not irrelevant just because the younger generation made p5 popular. It could've been their first persona game, that certainly helps with sales. And they refuse to play any other persona game. but as someone that played all of the persona games P4 is the best.
This battle really could have gone either way and was up to interpretation. The dio thing wasn't canon, but it does help give a solid case on who wins!
Not really up to interpretation. GER's RTZ is either considered Causality Manipulation, Fate Manipulation or minor reality warping (Depending who you ask, but most people either choose causality or fate manipulation), and Joker's immune to all those 3 things
I'm fine with this. I was most of the way through writing a couple paragraphs explaining the interactions of souls, spirits, time, gravity, stands, and the layers of immutable destiny that govern the actions of all living things without regard for their will... buuuut, none of it is well explained in canon. Head canon is the only way to approach Jojo.

@@npcwithagun Wrong. Joker's will is supposed to be unlimited thanks to being a wildcard, his will can't be shaken by abilities or outside sources (RTZ in this case), the only way his will can be reduced to 0 is if he lets it happen like on the bad endings. I don't think it would matter either way. Death Battle normally pits both characters are at their absolute best (or at least their best within standard canon). So the comparison would be between Joker at his most broken and Giorno at his most broken. Otherwise you could just have Flash phasing through Goku's heart to one shot him before Goku has a chance to power up. In a theoretical fight that could happen, but then everyone is left with the "well if Goku was at Ultra Instinct then...blah, blah, blah". Or having Mario beat Sonic before Sonic has a chance to become Super Sonic, etc. I get what you're saying, but I just don't think that would be consistent with how they do the analysis which determines the victor, while it would also make the animation less interesting as there would be no buildup, and that's the real reason they have them going through the power ups just like most Shonen.
- Fun fact: having a Persona also prevents absolute depletion of willpower. One man who had the mere spark of a Persona kept his will intact when a will-erasing entity reached his cognitive world. There are other cases of this in the Persona 5 games - like the Phantom Thieves being able to escape imprisonment after Yaldabaoth banished them from reality, and how Jail Shadows in Persona 5 Strikers were unable to extract Desires from the Phantom Thieves. - The piss drink was Abbacchio's "welcoming" prank to Giorno. It took a while for Abbacchio to warm up to the boy's presence. - Think of Return To Zero like a super-Sans - with the power to avoid attacks no matter how strong they are, and the power to ignore an enemy's defense. These allow Gold Experience Requiem to overcome even statistically-superior foes. - Alice and Jack Frost are pretty synonymous with the Shin Megami Tensei games overall - makes sense they were used for this battle. - There's also an extended ending in the storyboard, and a "real ending" by the animator, if you're interested. - There's gonna be some focus on Bowser's and Eggman's top minions, too. We already have mini-trailers for Kamek and Bowser Jr. (for Bowser's side, of course). Bet Eggman will have...I dunno, Sage and Metal Sonic?
Put simply, Persona users share the stats of their Persona. So if Joker used, idk, the slime Persona you get at the start of basically every Persona game, he would be significantly weaker. But if he uses a Persona that has insane durability, he also gets it. Same goes for repelling attacks and straight up nullifying them. Hope that helped!
@dimlylit3086 maybe I should have said it better. What I meant was, I don't know how Joker was able to tank a stand before summoning his persona. I get the shared power thing, but he's a regular human being before summoning his persona, so he should've died when the stand hit him.
@@DeadPiixxel the stats change when the persona is equipped, not when its summoned. A normal knife attack still uses the personas strength stat even when not summoned
Bruh, deathbattle just didn't understand how requiem works, once you get countered by it you die infinitely, he doesn't get another chance so him just getting up doesn't work. Classic deathbattle pandering.
You need to get killed by Requiem to die infinitely; Diavolo got returned to zero before the final attack that killed him and was fine. Joker didn't die because his Social Links bypass that. Without that first death to return to zero, the loop won't ever begin.
@@DuIstalri Spoilers but Diavolo didn't die to Requiem, it was being punches by it that triggered it the loop, hence why it starts with him being killed by a homeless person in after he retreated into a sewer. @@nukebomz7498 He died to the Stand Barrage, was returned to zero, and then his second death was to the homeless person. That's why he's confused by his survival in the river, thinking he just barely scraped by. He didn't - he died, and then was reset to experience death over and over. Think about it like this - something must happen to be returned to zero - you can't reverse an event that never existed. For Diavolo's death to be returned to zero, he must have died first. The death loop is triggered by dying to Gold Experience Requiem, not simply being affected by it.

Huh. I thought you already reacted to this. No. It's only 3 days ago. Another AWESOME DeathBattle!
Among all the other abilities a Wild Card Persona user has: they can tank a lethal hit once per battle, remaining at 1 hp (which is good, since the MC going down is an instant Game Over)
Yeah, and another skill from Orpheus lets them do that 5 times and return to full health lol
Imagine getting stabbed by a drug addict, only to wake up, unable to move and forced to be conscious for your OWN AUTOPSY! That was just the first 2 ways Diavolo died.
14:59, like all modern Death Battles, the music for the fight is custom made.
Perceive this reality bitch!
for anyone upset they used a NON-cannon feat to show Giorno loses, why are you upset???
You read the MANGA, you KNOW Golden experience doesn't exist anymore. WHY? WHAT!?!
Sounds like a stand in the manga overcame GER, and the REST of the manga happens BECAUSE GER can be overcome.
HOW are we in a reset jojos universe with no Giorno if GER can block EVERYTHING.
Even the manga supports this win.
Yes it does
Are you stupid? Or just misinformed. The universal reset didn't kill or harm anyone. Everyone in the universe was still alive, just playing through their fates. They're then brought to the new universe with the knowledge of their whole lives. That was the POINT of the reset.
It is NOT an attack or something that would harm Giorno and he had no reason to stop it. He didn't even know. So GER didn't activate. Braindead.
And if you mean the Steel Ball Run and Jojolion universe, they're completely unrelated to Pucci's reset.
Bowser vs eggman comes out November 17th
My money's on Bowser
@jefferyoneill1 well it's army on army combat
This was a good battle, I think you guys would also love Nightwing vs Daredevil and Thor vs Vegeta. +Definitely Not Definitive
Thor VS Vegeta goes into events from the manga, and they’re currently going through the anime, so they’re probably not watching that for a bit

Imagine how much more broken Joker would've been if he had access to the DLC personas lmao. Myriad Truths anyone?
G.E.R: All who stand before me shale never reach the truth no matter what ability they possess.
I.N.O: BY THE MYRIAD TRUTHS!!!
Right?
They didn't include it into the fight but the storyboards apparently reveal that there was an extra part to the end
Joker would have to fight inside Giorno's Palace to actually summon a Persona, so even though Giorno exploded it was all in his mind and death inside a palace/the metaverse just causes a mental shutdown to who died. GER being automatic would revert the damage to Giorno thus undoing his mental shutdown death. Since Joker took Giorno's treasure and presumably made it out of the palace with it it would then trigger a change of heart for Giorno
Giorno is still alive, just a better person which is the ultimate goal of the Phantom Thieves so technically fans of both sides win in the end if you count the storyboards
yeah but the bad part was he didn't went to florida aka Jojo part 6 which in turn made a butterfly effect where yknow Made In Heaven happened
though it makes sense why
(spoilers)
No? literally in the first or two palaces in the game, it's said that if a person is incapacitated or killed in the metaverse/palace, then that would mean the person in real life would meet said consequences.
Which is why they never kill the enemy.
@critical_6164 also spoilers
but we see that mental shutdowns are not instant deaths as haru's dad who has a week constitution survived for a time, which would allow GER to do its thing
@@thejester4130 (spoilers)
Yeah? A mental shutdown is acquired only when a person is close to being killed, if a person is fully killed in the metaverse then they meet the same fate in the real world. Eitherhow this was a testament to power vs power, not who survived, even though giorno didn’t.
@@critical_6164 okay I'm confused by your point, I'm not saying it wouldn't cause a mental shutdown, it would, that just doesn't kill instantly, as (spoilers)
Haru's dad lived pass the shutdowns for a little but as he was taken by an ambulance, and he has poor constitution so realistically giorno would last longer.
I could see the same happening other way around had joker pulled out satanel first and Giorno uses GER to finish joker off
Joker is the older brother who got grounded for not letting his little brother win. to Giorno being the little brother
Trust me Diavolo deserves the series of death. He tried to kill his own Daughter
This question was probably asked before but do you guys ever plan on reacting to the Jojo anime?
By the way, the storyboards confirm that real-world Giorno had his mental shutdown from his metaverse death negated by GER, making him the first character to entirely survive his battle with no extra stipulation.
Where is the source for that? I want to read it.
(Even though that doesn't make sense because it was an Almighty attack that caused the shutdown)
I mean, that makes sense but it also doesnt.
Why would he have a palace?
He isnt evil.
But also shouldnt his palace side be stronger?

He is above causality, RTZ is causality manip therefore wouldn’t work. can’t use deathloop either as joker has both reflect physical and null physical.
joker only beat him with his team, if they werent there he literally would not have won.
@hunterjohnson7796 He hs beaten a BETTER version of GER like a already told. He out haxes so hard its not funny. Unshaken Will automatically prevents the user from being inflicted with any mental-type effect, he is also straight up uneffected by Fate as he has broken Fate before that is the power of the wildcard + enduring soul heals him to full at the moment of death if it somehow came to that. Lastly He is above causality, rtz is causality manip therefore wouldn’t work. can’t use deathloop either as joker has both reflect physical and null physical.
@@DR_REDACTED he didnt null phys when akechi shot him in the skull did he? no. Did he beat maruki by himself? no.

@@phillemon7664They made the point with King Crimson, they just used the game to justify it via consistency. Also the game showed was All Star Battle R, not Eyes of Heaven. You don't even know what you're talking about 💀
@@phillemon7664it doesn't get nerfed. Ger didn't use rtz on mih because he has no need to. The universe reset doesn't harm alive people and just brings them into another world. Ger has literally no need to stop that, it doesn't harm Giorno at all

As a big Persona 5 fan, this episode was everything I wanted and more. The "more" being my boy actually winning which caused me to pop off with excitement when I first watched the episode. Honestly one of the happiest reactions to a Death Battle result lol. Absolutely loved this episode, though it sadly didn't go too into Joker's story in P5 cause they wanted to focus on the Vs stuff.

@@npcwithagun He doesn’t need em (neither would Giorno know about them)
@@npcwithagun Wrong. Joker's will is supposed to be unlimited thanks to being a wildcard, his will can't be shaken by abilities or outside sources (RTZ in this case), the only way his will can be reduced to 0 is if he lets it happen like on the bad endings. The prime example for this is his fight against the Holy Grail, where after losing and being erased from existence, all the other Phantom Thieves wills were destroyed, except Joker's because he's the Trickster and a wildcard

I’m pretty sure giorno kept requiem as his base he literally broke out of the regular golden experience and is implied he has the power in the end and is the boss
It wasn’t polnareff’s will to make silver chariot a requiem and both times were incomplete especially the second time where it happened around his death. It’s not like giorno transformation.
When it’s a willful and complete transformation you keep it and it’s permanent just like in the case with kira
May your Social link be your Guiding Key
You guys really need to watch Jojo bizarre adventure 😭
Korewa requiem

I don't know how Joker was able to tank a stand imo he should've died several times.
I get the shared power thing, but he's a regular human being
before summoning his persona, so he should've died when the stand hit him.

You are fated to die after being punched, note he no longer had his stand after it too signifying the effect's activation.
