the beginning of the fight wasn't Return to Zero, it was Life Shot. Gold Experience hadn't evolved into Requiem yet and cannot do any of the RtZ or death loop stuff until then, the background turned blue just like when Life Shot was explained in the analysis of the Death Battle, and in the animation you even see Joker's consciousness fly back into his own body to feel the impact of Gold Experience's strikes on Arséne. you're right that stopping, skipping, or rewinding time wouldn't get you away from Requiem, but it being able to act independently of time is less about that and more saying that Requiem will get you no matter how fast you are, which is why the Death Battle mentions this and shows the Speed category (which was previously red bc Joker takes speed vs Gold Experience) turning into a big yellow X instead of just being colored yellow, since Requiem wasn't necessarily faster than Joker in the traditional sense, speed just didn't matter anymore vs Requiem. Social Links don't refill your willpower, they keep it a MUCH higher level than before, which is why the analysis mentions how Yu Narukami's Wild Card gave him willpower greater than all of humanity combined, so it would help against Return to Zero. It's only the simplest solution though. The Death Battle also mentions how the Wild Card grants Joker extra abilities that would also help, such as Unshaken Will, which makes him immune to getting his willpower reduced in the first place. Not only that, the episode ALSO mentions how Joker can access the Velvet Room at any time, including mid-combat, and that it exists outside of space-time so Requiem can't touch it, and that the Velvet Room even appeared to save Joker from reality warping in this exact way during the events of Persona 5
"I've only played up until the painter guy". Well I guess you're just going to have to stream the rest of Persona 5 Royal. The viewers would never see it coming

@@fallen3831I love that everybody immediately thinks of arahabaki. It's not even that high level of Persona usually, but it reflects physical damage and against most people that's all you need
It's ironic, really. Gold Experience Requiem's special power gives it an edge against statistically-superior foes, and yet Joker had the proper counters to even THAT - and they're literally the power of friendship and a gun that he found! ...As a bonus, there's a property of Personas that wasn't brought up here - and it's that Personas in general prevent complete willpower erasure. There's one man who had merely the spark of a Persona, and it was enough to keep his will intact against an entity that can erase wills. There are other instances of this, like the Phantom Thieves being able to escape imprisonment after Yaldabaoth banished them from reality, or how Jail Shadows in Strikers were unable to extract Desires out of the Thieves.
Its funny, they didn't even mention some of the abilities of some of the Persona's that Joker would have access to..that Totally Nullify Physical Attacks against him, or reflects it back on the attacker...so that would have Gold Experience totally useless.
Welcome back guys, I'm glad you're better Rhett Yeah I'm a JoJo fan who has seen part 1-6 anime and knows plot points about part 7-9 I don't know anything about the persona franchise Yeah I kinda hope that girnio would win considering his ger could undo anything thrown at him Fun fact: hirohiko araka (JoJo author) actually visits the countries he uses in the parts of jojo Fun fact: Gold experience is named after the prince album Fun fact: girnio was originally going to be female in the first draft of golden wind
Fun fact: Gold Experience's ability to create life was actually directly influenced by Giorno originally being female, Araki intended for it to parallel giving birth.
Glad to see you guys back also Futaba is the actual best girl About the willpower thing I think Giorno couldn’t take his away because Joker has at least 2 confidants in the Velvet Room which is outside normal spacetime so he could in fact keep getting more without Girono stopping him.
"Independent of time" means that no matter how massively faster Joker was, Requiem works regardless of the rules of time, so he wouldnt be able to avoid Requiems reality-screwing abilities. Its more of a passive than something Joker could see coming. He'd always be affected by them. In order to be free of them, he'd have overpower them with his own reality-breaking abilities.
I hope Bowser vs Eggman wasn’t as much of a pain to make as Eggman vs Wily was. Say, I have started to wonder, have any of you reacted to Dragon Ball Z Abridged yet or no?
I'll just say this, Bowser falling into a black hole or taking a dip in the sun is nothing compared to even the older adventure era sonic games, let alone anything from the modern era of sonic games...something something might as well be another JRPG lol I'm team Eggman all the way🙏🙏
@JohnnyDoorknob Yes. Paper Jam establishes that Paper Mario is a separate universe but also more or less everything that happens in one also happens in the other (excluding the paper-specific stuff from the second trilogy)
Bowser might actually withstand more than just a black hole collapse. Dare I say, he could potentially have universe-grade tenacity. - The Wonder that he was commanding in Super Mario Bros. Wonder was estimated potent enough that it could spread across the whole universe. - He has directly been able to fight off Culex 3D, who had gained the power to "consume all time and space". Sure, Bowser was in a five-person team at the time, but so was Culex with his four 3D Crystals, each one capable of fully restoring his power if he's defeated first. We can probably consider this a direct feat for Mario and Peach, too, as they were also fighting Culex 3D's team. - Another heavyweight Star Child, Wario, was unfazed from the epicenter of Black Jewel's dimension-spanning death explosion.
Spreading this around because it's neat They didn't end up using it but the storyboards reveal there was an extra bit to the fight at the end after Joker wins. Obviously this fight had to have happened in a palace else Joker wouldn't have any powers, so thus Giorno wasn't brutally exploded he just suffered mental shutdown. In the extra bit this would have happened but GER undoes it, and since Joker stole Giorno's treasure in the arrow he has a change of heart
Hey there lover of jojo and player of P5. For the will question that is brought up and is the worry of some let's give a bit of backstory. Joker at a point in his game is up against a being known as the holy grail... Yes I'm being for real here. The grail corrupts the minds of everyone on earth to will Joker into not existing Joker, his team and friends fade away into nothingness... BUT JOKER REFUSES TO! For gamers it's basically a unbeatable boss where the most you can do is get the boss down to 1HP but the willpower cannot actually hit 0 for Joker making it so GER cannot simply drain Joker's will to win away. Also a free bonus before someone says it's cause of social links... It's not. Base game never requires you to hang out to acquire this level of power or beat the game. I do however find it odd that death battle didn't bring up one other issue in Joker's attack listings... Status attacks. Mind control, depression, and most of all insta death are powers that joker could in theory have called on to just stop the fight right away. Depression mattering as it can cause foes to die after three turns and was a well known way to kill a super boss known as the reaper. Though in Jojo's defense they should have worked in a bit more how unbound the stand is next to Joker who is more stiff with his persona. Meaning in the game either the person attacks or the human does, both cannot, but we see many times in Jojo where both the Stand and the person can work with each other to better battle a foe.
By the way, the storyboards confirmed that Giorno survived the cognitive shutdown induced by his death in the metaverse due to GER negating it, making him the first combatant to entirely survive his battle.
What was his change of heart though? Did joker steal his fabulous flair? Also joker stole the arrow so is gold experience requiem still a thing, or it’s a permanent transformation?
@@brandoneverett9153 We see his change of heart convince him to reform Passione.
