This is by far the best and the most educational running shoe interview I have ever seen. The inside explanations from Tony and also showing what the "pucks" look like before they are tranformed to final version midsole material was insanely cool. I have been running in 3 of these shoes for about a year now as a wear tester, and I did not know all of these construction details for the shoes. Amazing job Thomas and Skechers!

I really appreciate Tony’s sharing of information and technical background here. The material sciences aspect of what we’re putting on our feet is important.
He’s not just reading a script or using a lot of marketing speak like literally all of the other brand reps.
If sketchers running shoes were wider around the forefoot I’d definitely buy them. Still, this type of information is more illuminating about what other brands are doing than those brands own marketing output.

Great technical interview
Tony is one of our beloved Auburn University graduates. As an Alabama shoe retailer who has carried the Skecher brand since the company began as a Doc Marten U.S. importer I must say the company is one of the great success stories in the footwear industry. More and more people are discovering Skecher performance running shoes every day. Tony and his staff, as well as predecessors, have chased elite performance footwear with a passion. It shows too as a huge number of people who try on Skechers shoes against others are preferring the immediate feel and fit. Not only that, but they remain impressed and come back to purchase new versions and models. As a third-generation shoe retailer with now over 4-decades myself as owner I highly recommend Skechers with Hyperburst midsoles. They just keep getting better in my experience.
Wow, the science aspect from this review made me geek out a little. Loved the knowledge base and the why it's important to the runner. Cant wait for the beast.
I have the Excess 2 and have been very impressed. Looking forward to the Razor 4 and the Beast. Skechers are doing a good job.
Man I love how he let everyone know how we are being sold "blabla" based foams and not actual 100% "blabla" foams. Then u think about the tech consistency throughout all the skecher shoes... All of them are 100% foams and not based foams... The h plate is there in all of these shoes and all of them have that good insole and all of them are so much more competitive from what u r getting compared to what others are offering. And finally the nail in the coffin is that skechers are coming out so much sooner than everyone else... Can't wait to try the maxroad 6. Maxroad 5 was an all time favorite

Good to see Skechers performance simplify the Razor lineup. I have the Razor 3, Razor +, Excess 1&2. Razor 4 looks like its going to be a solid trainer/workout shoe. Cant wait to try it out!!

After really taking most of this past year off due to various circumstances I’m actually excited to start up again and switching back to Skechers exclusively this coming year. These shoes got me hyped
Love the philosophy of the Skechers, completely agree that a shoe should not only be fast but also help the runner in the later part of a race, aka stability. I had two pairs of maxroad 4, can’t wait to try the 6, but please please come up with better looking upper. Had to say Skechers upper design has been a let down…
Had 2 pairs of the maxroad 4 and got to 1k miles on one of them. Had to skip the 5 because they never seemed to go on sale when I could get the Nike invincible for $100 relatively easily. Not sure if it was supply chain issues or what but they ironically when from value shoes to the most expensive when you factor in how little discounting they were doing after covid lol
One thing Sketchers has to do is to get their performance shoes into Skechers stores. At least one of each size to try and have them order and deliver to your address. They are missing a lot of business for not having shoes from performance lineup available to try in stores.
Amen!!! How can their retail store miss selling their own running shoes. The running stores don't carry the brand. Few know Skechers makes great running shoes.
Tony really is another level of cool explainer guy. Although I haven´t run in a Skecher since the Ultra days, I am stoked to give these a try.
Skechers Max Road 6! Any chance Robbe can sneak a first impression? Keeping it priced at $140 makes it a value priced max cush shoe

I really like Skechers direction. This Tony bloke sure is very technical and knows how to propel innovation. But Skechers naming system and range is confusing for me sometime.
The growth of Sketchers Performance has been incredible. The Razor 4 looks like a nice option for a lot of people and that price is unbeatable.
So i walk and stand alot at Amusements parks. What shoe would be best for me for constant standing in line and alot of walking?

I'm copping those Go Run Max Road 6
Look forward to the Ride 11. I have 750+ mile in GRR8's and they are still holding up in "good" condition and I'm a heavier runner (190-195lbs). Enjoy the MaxRoad 5, but disappointed with durability as about 300miles max. Hoping getting rid of the pods in the MaxR 6 will improve that along with what looks like more rubber, but guessing the ride might be very different(???). Look forward to the run reviews next year.
They're stuff looks really good for 2023. Looks like they're listening to their customer base.
Bought older model Razor + recently which seems quite advanced
Also my theory on why Skechers retains the “Speed” graphic is to alert their large non-running customer base
So excited about the max road 6 and the speed beast shoe but please redo the color ways and branding so it's not so loud.
I guess next year I'll be back to the ride series again 😁
and the razor looks interesting. razor 3 was one of the best shoes I've had. Let's see if they can actually improve it, although I already disappointed by the weight increase, but let's see ...
How much the price at South Africa?
Both Ride 11 and Max Road 6 are very competitively priced. Definitely, worth the look. Way to go Skechers! RIP Razor Excess. I still enjoy Excess v1. I like what they are doing with Razor 4 and Beast. The only negative for me is the "Speed" prints on the upper for Razor 4 and Beast.
Glad to see Skechers put more rubber outsole on Max Road 6
I feel like Skechers is a brand where I'd have near enough their whole line if they ever decided to actually make their shoes available globally. The maxroad, ride, and speed freek look like they would make a great rotation.
Maxroad 5 has good foam. The only con is the insufficient arch support. I hope maxroad 6 resolves the issue
The Max Road looks kinda fire. Wish they were easier to get in Europe. I would seriously consider these for 20km long runs.
Skechers and Saucony needs to step up their outside NA-game. We can't even order Saucony shoes from their own website, that's quite bad 2022.

Is it too much to ask for Skechers to not make an ugly shoe? Amazing foam and product but my God, please remove "SPEED" from the side of the shoe. Most of us aren't 8 years old and it's just weird lol.

Unfortunately you can't order these and try them out. Once you wear them you're stuck with them. Terrible warranty! Most of the other brands will let you return in 30 days for a complete refund. How does Skechers expect you to see if they work for you. Bad, bad warranty!!!
