I bought two of these it’s a great bar way better than a ssb. I have a bad shoulder and have been using a SSB and when your weights get up around 400 lbs it’s really strains your neck. The Marrs bar is super comfortable at those weight and probably much higher Good company to deal with I had trouble with the stupid trucking company and these owners of the company got personally involved and really worked hard to get it straightened out Highly recommend this company customer service like they have is rare today

I just lift to keep in shape and stay relatively strong. Honestly don't know if I could do a 225 bench right now. Covid killed my strength with not being able to go to the gym.
I just discovered your channel. Thank goodness! I have done low back squats for 30 years at 405 but I suffered from frozen shoulder and had to quit squats. The leg press just wrecks my knees and compresses my lower back. I thought I'd never get to squats but the Marrs Bar really gives me hope. Ordered one 15 minutes after watching your video. Thank you

I tried this for the first time at my gym the other day. I really liked it. Definitely noticed the heavier bar. Liked that too ! I’m going to start using it more now that I’ve seen your video. And I have to say , I usually don’t ever watch a video in ts entirety. But I did watch this one. You are straight to the point. Your cameraman is excellent and you actually used the equipment as you normally would. Giving me a chance to see the equipment make you work !!! Thanks !
Speaking as someone with shoulder issues, this bar looked great. I did check it out in the net and another bar came up in the searches, it's called the Transformer bar pricing is very similar. A video comparing the two would be good.

@@chrissyt5471 The old Mars bar did have Almonds. It was similar to the Almond Snickers bar. The Milky Way bar is the one that's just caramel and nougat. Edit.. guess there's a Mars Bar sold in Europe that does have caramel and nougat.. But, the original Mars Bar was almond, caramel, and nougat.
I recently purchased the Marrs Bar. This bar feels great! It has become my favorite bar to do squats with. I have a SS bar but enjoy doing squats with the Marrs Bar much better. It is great for doing front squats! Highly recommend the Marrs bar.
I have discovered them during quarantine, bought a squat stand (all that was left), but considering buying a rack later, it seems really good, but the shipping to USA would cost quite a lot I guess, so idk about a review unfortunately.
ATX is EU only I think, so Coop probably can't do reviews of the ATX equipment. That being said ATX quality is fine, some of their racks especially their higher end are straight copies of the rogue racks but more affordable. The lower end racks are just rebranded copies that other stores sell as well. The bars are quite nice too but bear in mind that they are all manufactured in China so you will have a few minor quality setbacks compared to say Eleiko or Rogue bars. Bang for buck you will most certainly get very solid equipment though.
To anyone lurking, I sat on purchasing this for several years due to the price, as I couldnt find a place that had it to try it out locally. I have poor knees and a poor back, and I have to say, even if I didn't, this thing is pretty great.
This is my favorite bar and money is no object, I have a transformer bar and a titan safety squat bar. I am doing 245 X 5 reps and that started at 135. this bars is awesome for developing the posterior chain. love this bar. worth every peney.
I have always thought the most mechanically ideal place for the bar on the back while squatting was at the level of thoracic vertebrae six, which this bar allows. $600 is steep, 350 is reasonable.
Any chance we could see a review of the Prime Super Squat Bar, especially in comparison to the Marrs and Transformer bars? There's something like 2 reviews about it in all of existence right now, despite being out for a year.
Coop, I've never used a safety squat bar. I noticed in this video that you didn't use collars. Is that because you are more stable with this type of bar or do you not use collars in general?
The amount of things mark rippetoe hates, smh. Safety squat bars are great and trap bar DOES carry over to deadlift. Love this bar btw even for the price I might consider it...although I guess if I give it a year Titan will have a low bar ssb, right?
Rippetoe has a method that doesn’t benefit from specialty bars. You don’t build a novice’s squat with the SSB and you don’t improve a novice’s deadlift with a trap bar. Once you have lifted for six months, OK. But even then... programming that stuff can be very very hard when your background is 5x5.
@@Xplora213 of course you can improve a novices deadlift with the trap bar, in fact, they should use that before pulling conventional, but I agree his system is pretty simple in it's outlook, by design
The powder coat issue on bars annoys me too. I have an amazing Watson SSB with a custom red yoke, but the black powder coat is chipping off and makes it look far less premium than it is.
Stupid question: How would you bail on this bar, or on a safety squat bar? Do you ride it all the way down? I squat with a Ohio bar and I drop it off my back and walk away.
Haven't failed a lift with my Vulcan SSB (haven't had it long) but I'd imagine you just raise the handles. Not sure that would work here with the curved angle of the handles though.
Awesome review. I’m building my home gym and curious if it makes sense to get Marrs bar and a safety squat bar or skip safety squat bar & just get Marrs bar. I looked a kabuki’s transformer - just don’t like all the mechanics. My thought for both is safety squat bar for more traditional squats and Marrs bar for low back & front squats. Unless you think Marrs alone could replace safety squat bar. Thanks!
@@P3ak930 I got the Marrs Bar and love it. The molded padding is better than I expected also. In pics it looks firm, but it’s a nice cushion. Besides front & low back squats I also use it for standing calf raises and just hold onto a couple of band pegs for balance, but honestly I probably don’t even need them - the Marrs bar just stays balanced on your shoulders. I ordered the new rep ssb, still waiting for it to arrive. So I can’t compare yet. Hope this helps

You want help? Keep you body more upright, and how you do that is push your knees more forward and when you squat in the "hole" keep your knees at that point as long as you can.

I have a genuine comment regarding your filming & editing: lately the b-roll in your videos has been weird; it’s inserted at times where you’re explaining something & pointing at a specific aspect of the item, which should be showed to viewers, which is odd. B-roll should be played either when there is no dialogue (between different topics), or at times where you’re speaking about something that doesn’t need the viewer to visualize what you’re trying to explain (or you can use b-roll to demonstrate/focus on what you’re explaining, also). Just thought I’d give some constructive criticism that may have not been brought to your attention. You’re videos have always been great btw.
bos is a terrible option the sleeves dont have any bushings in the sleeves, they are just bolted on under the end cap like a cheap chinese sporting goods bar. the bar sits in the rack on the cambers. the titan fitness ssb v2 so far is the best budget safety squat bar.

He’s not Internet strong. Typically you have squatted more than 5 plates a side for a while to be considered Internet Strong.

For 650, the kabuki transformer bar is a better buy considering you can set it up for a low bar style squat plus all the other variations.

Yeah for us Europe/UK guys I think ATX is the main rival for Rogue Europe (whose prices +shipping/tax are just unjustifiable)
ATX is pretty nice, they have some very clever ideas which I like. Cambered axle bar has been a game changer for me.
Looks like yhis bar really facilitates thoracic extension, helping the lifter maintain an upright torso throughout the squat

Titan fitness really needs to make a replica and sell it for like $250. I’d buy it in a heart beat. Can’t justify spending 600 on a bar though

How did you make your makeshift bar?
I thought it would flip up when you de-loaded one side. But then, I haven't used any kind of SSB yet, so not familiar with how they react.
They’re very heavy, plus his rack is pretty bulky so less rotation regardless of weight.
