Yeah R.I.P ARI ...I LOVE THE SLITS I got into them in 1978 after hearing typical girl's.. I was also getting into PUNK and SKA, REGGAE, in fact I'm still a punk today 🏴😊💣💥🔥🔥 I like how they mixed PUNK ROCK AND REGGAE ... along with THE RUTS, THE CLASH, and later the SPECIALS who had the punk attitude, and mixed SKA AND PUNK , even now THE SELECTER ,, quite often play at PUNK gigs I still love the SLITS and their music 🍺😊👍🇧🇴🇧🇴☮️☯️🏴🏴🅰️🏴🏴🇧🇴🇧🇴...🏴😊💣💥🔥🔥
Ari such a true one-off original and unique singer, R.I.P. ARI! BRILLIANT video, and great band THE SLITS! They would certainly liven up the current dull music scene!
Pretty sure Viv Albertine the guitarist had some very eclectic tastes, in her biography she talks about the album Safe As Milk so Beefheart definitely was in there.
i’m pretty sure it’s budgie drumming on this track and the rest of the album. palmolive is also great though, you can hear her in the peel session or any other early recording. she’s also the drummer for the raincoats second album and she’s great there too.
