I fixed mine by 1. carefully removing the gasket with a butter knife, 2. wrap pitcher with a rubber band where the gasket was and keep it flat and not twisted, and finally 3. put the gasket back on.

Pull the top off, use a butter knife to remove white factory o-ring. Put a rubber band in the slot for the o-ring, put the factory o-ring back on over the top of the rubber band.. fixed.

This leak has been happening for over a year since we got the fridge. Thank you for this trick! 🎉

Don't waste that fridge! I fixed mine easily. The plastic can be softened with a heat gun or maybe even a hair dryer. Be careful because it will soften quickly with a heat gun. Once you get the sealing lip soft install the top and run it under cold water. This will properly shape the container lip to the lid seal. Poof, fixed!

Did you heat the entire plastic opening or just where the leak was occurring?

As an extended warranty tech and a technician that works for manufacturers warranty as well yes they will send you out on calls where their part fails. Sometimes you can request payment for these calls as a part defect but even that can turn into a huge hassle. If I see these calls I automatically decline them. It’s a design flaw and is not repairable.

When we found this out by talking with a technician, we stopped. I find this practice appaling. Big apologies to the repair community.
Consider making a video about these practices?

Hi Nick. I had the same problem with the same appliance and solved it in less than 10 minutes. After trying to get Samsung to give me a new pitcher to no avail. I simply removed the original white gasket that is clearly not sealing and used a 3.9" gasket that comes for the under-sink water filters. I hope you can solve the problem. (part-O-Ring for Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Housings Diameter 3.5" O.D. Black 3 Pcs O-Ring Set-cost 8$ x 3 🕵‍♂

I’m in the UK and I’m on my 3rd pitcher and still leaking. Samsung has given up and offer replacement or refund. Can’t be bothered with either.
Could you share a link to the gasket used? I’ll see if I can find similar here
