  • "Vaccines are BAD! Wait! Vaccines are GOOD!" - Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Danielle Stringer, shares her experience and ideas that caused her to leave her vaccine-hesitancy behind and advocate for immunizations.
Danielle Stringer was born and raised in Arizona. Dani knew she wanted to be a nurse from the age of 10 and went on to do just that. Stringer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing. She graduated at age 18, and became the youngest pediatric nurse practitioner in the country! In 2014, she started a blog, www.kidnurse.org, to raise awareness for pediatric health issues which currently has over 2 million views.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I have a theory about vaccine safety but it seems as if scientists won't look into it. I believe that vaccines are not suitable for all blood types. (Well personally I believe vaccines can be unsafe for anyone) But I'd like to emphasize that vaccines may be more dangerous for rh negative blood types. I will explain. Vaccines are cultured in mediums which may contain rh proteins, both animal and human. Vaccines are purified using the method called chromatography. Chromatography is not suitable to guarantee that an rh protein does not slip into the final product. If an rh protein does slip into the final product and is given to a person who has an rh negative blood type this would not be safe for them. If any scientists are reading this perhaps you will further look into this thank you.

What about one child who is permanently disabled by vaccines? So the only kids who matter are the kids who had problems from disease? I agree just like everything else you have to choose what’s best for you and your kids. I choose not to for multiple reasons (and yes I have seen people with polio and the side effects along with knowing people who had multiple of diseases that have vaccines for). One reason is my family hasn’t had great reactions. My mother and me both were always sick after vaccines. The last one I got was at 15 (I’m 21 turning 22 in a few months) and was sick all the time for years pretty much till 20 or so and developed a bunch of conditions after that one (chickenpox). Developed asthma, fibromyalgia, multiple allergies including some meds I had no reaction to before, and more all after that one. Maybe it was coincidence but my mother was sick a lot till she stopped getting vaccines also (her asthma even got better after 30 something years and hasn’t needed a rescue inhaler for well over a year and hasn’t really taken control meds). And she even told me if she knew what she knows now and how they may have made me sick she would have listened to me when I was 9 and most likely wouldn’t have gotten me most of them. But everyone has to make decisions for their own family’s and kids. Just like anything else in this world.

At most 2 out of every million vaccines result in a claim of injury, and even those claims are almost never proven to be caused by the vaccine. Even if only 1 in 1000 vaccines produce a benefit, that is still 500-1000 people who are helped for every person who is maybe harmed. 500-1 is an extremely conservative estimate of benefit vs risk: the true benefit is likely far, far greater. In the past 30 years, fewer than 7000 people have been injured by vaccines. Millions have been spare illness, hospitalization, and permanent injury. Hundreds of thousands have had their lives saved.

Anyway, i prefere to have the natural desease, than the side effect from the labmade chemical treated virus they inject into my body, while there was absolutely nothing wrong.
besides, most deseases they vaccine against, measles, they make your immume system stronger, and if you get them now, it is only a week you are sick. the same thing with flu, that goes away on its own, by your own imumesystem and tetanus for example is treated by a five day cure, one pill a day.
i dont know, but it doesnt seem like such a threat not to be vaccined.
side effects from vaccines are lifelong epileptic seizures, irreversible braindamage, dying of high allergic fever, and plus, they DO have chemicals in them that in high doses alter the neurological working of the brain. . . .

In my opinion, it's just bonkers to recommend that people under 65, healthy and not at risk, or who may want to conceive a child at some point, should participate in a trial of an emergency-use authorized only gene therapy. . Not only that, even if you're the most pro-vx person in the world, this thing doesn't even stop the virus from transmitting. If it does anything at all, it decreases symptoms, and isn't the whole reason we're supposed to be staying away from each other because asymptomatic people are supposedly a risk to be around? So, now they're giving us a vx that creates more asymptomatic spreaders... It's not anti-vx to think this is just illogical and bad medicine. The AZ and JJ ones were already canned, and people are reporting awful things from the other two. It's hella marketing that so many are still running out to get it.

@@n0kt0h45 Isaac Koh, lying does not help your case. And lying in the context of an ad hominem attack hurts your case even more. Perhaps some day you will develop either intellectual backbone or else the ability to evaluate and discern information from a place of true objectivity, rather than bias, faith, prejudice, and innuendo.
Contrary to the fanciful ruminations of your cognitively dissonant brain, Dr. Suzanne Humphries is a well-respected and board-certified doctor in good standing in her profession.
She saw reckless hospital policy that was hurting her patients and she had the initiative to look further and the backbone to challenge the system. This is how the medical system improves. One moment, a treatment is popular, widespread convention. The next moment, a doctor with uncommon good character and knowledge sees a flaw and alerts the profession. Eventually, that practice falls out of favor.
This is why doctors no longer perform lobotomies as a common procedure, when, at one time, it was the first line in treatment for certain ailments. This is why surgeons now wash their hands and scrub in before performing surgery. This is why universal precautions are now followed, and contact between patients and medical personnel involves barriers like gloves.
All of these mark dramatic changes in the way medicine is done, because someone took issue with a widespread and common procedure, identified the problems, and sounded the alarm. It was Albert Einstein who said, "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly." Dr Suzanne Humphries carried on like the rest of doctors until she was presented with real-world information and experience that defied her education and training. Instead of bowing blindly, she inquired further.
She used her exceptional, powerful intellect and her substantially more evolved sense of ethics to stand up to a system that has foisted flawed policy on the public. You should not blindly criticize her. Look into her writings objectively, with an open mind, or watch some of her public talks and cross reference the PubMed research she cites in her work. Her work is based on sound science and whether you are staunchly pro-vaccine or ardently opposed, this debate is too important, and it deserves better than people like you who are going to weigh in out of willful and self-righteous ignorance.
      Research it from yourself.
In the meanwhile, you have resorted to the lowest and most bad faith form of intellectual debate. You've poisoned the waters with libelous accusations in an ad hominem attack. Your ignorance is showing. And you are only making your side of things look all the weaker for having resorted to such lowbrow tactics.
If you care about this issue, you'll go directly to the source and investigate for yourself. If you care about your ego, you'll refuse to even consider a point of view or any line of inquiry that might indicate you were mistaken.
For your own sake, I hope you can overcome your prejudices.
There are many well-educated, intelligent, pro-science people in the world who have held themselves to a higher standard and who have taken it upon themselves to truly investigate the claims calling into question certain aspects of vaccine policy. These are people who have been willing to seek the truth and set their egos aside. Can you do the same?

It blows my mind how in almost every other aspect of life, criticism and an open mind to alternative views is an integral part of learning and reality. Vaccines though? If you do not do so, you are putting at risk the most vulnerable people in the world, children who have it so much harder than i hope you and your children will ever have. It is difficult to imagine what these children are going through, and by not vaccinating your children and yourself, you are putting them, yourself, and your children in danger that could easily be prevented, with a tiny ammount of risk for you. It is more likely to get struck by lighting than to suffer from a vaccine, and if you do, you too will be dependent on everyone else to be vaccinated. Becsuse some of these diseases are "that bad" and by not vaccinating yourself and your children, you are not only putting yourself and your children at risk, you are also putting some of the most vulnerable members of our so in grave danger.

@@eeeaten That’s a flawed line of thinking. One of the main claims of vaccine skeptics today is that vaccines do not reduce overall mortality, because they only eliminate their target infectious diseases, but also weaken the immune system of the recipients and cause other auto-immune disorders and (rare) acute reactions, sometimes resulting in death. If I’m the mayor of a city with lots of violent gun crime, and I forcibly do a gun buy-back which eliminates all the gun violence, can I declare victory? No. I have to check if the violent crime rate after I get rid of all the guns. If all the criminals in my city just stab each other with knives now, and the violent crime rate remains the same, I’ve accomplished nothing.
And how would you prove the effectiveness of the current CDC schedule in reducing overall mortality? Well, you’d simply do a study comparing mortality and hospitalization rates between kids who get vaccinated and kids who don’t. The CDC refuses to do this study, citing confounding factors. Seems like a pathetic cop out to me, and a lack of scientific rigor.
I don’t make specific claims about vaccine safety. I do think the potential toxic load of adjuvants in the first year of the CDC vaccination schedule is a perfectly reasonable thing to fear. And of course, the CDC doesn’t study this in-depth. They don’t cite or study the rate at which infants can clear aluminum from their bodies with their developing organs. They don’t cite maximum aluminum load for infants. They don’t have any metric-backed discussion of this fear at all.
Metal poisoning is usually not acute. Humans used lead paint in housing for decades. It caused slight aggression and it knocked off a few point of your IQ. Slight cognitive degradation from adjuvants, as a hypothesis (not claiming this happens), would NEVER be caught as a vaccine side effect given the quality of research today. They simply do not do these comparison studies between vaccinated and unvaccinated population. To me, this is a huge red flag. When I started looking into this stuff, I assumed that these basic comparisons would exist. They don’t.

    • @eeeaten
      @eeeaten 3 года назад +2

@@youtubeceoruinedyoutube doesn't make sense. vaccines decrease the burden of public illness. you claim "eliminate their target infectious diseases, but also weaken the immune system of the recipients and cause other auto-immune disorders and (rare) acute reactions" - but that is not true. infectious diseases weaken the immune system and make people vulnerable to other infections. the risk of harm from vaccines is tiny compared to the risk of harm from the diseases they prevent. some comparison of vaccinated vs unvaccinated populations has been done (eg the kiggs study that showed the health outcomes different only by the fact that the unvaccinated populations had a higher incidence of vaccine-preventable disease), but generally such studies are fraught with confounding and prejudicial factors (like the retracted mawson survey of homeschool parents). what we do have to show the health benefits of vaccines is history - for example before 1960 hundreds of kids died from measles and tens of thousands were hospitalised - every year, just in the us. today's kids don't get sick or dead from measles. the burden of disease from measles has been removed from society.
"I do think the potential toxic load of adjuvants in the first year of the CDC vaccination schedule is a perfectly reasonable thing to fear." - sure, it's a reasonable thing to study, and it has been studied - hundreds of millions of doses of adjuvant-containing vaccines have been administered, they safety profiles and health outcomes have been studied by international doctors, hospitals, universities, public health ministries and medical scientists over decades. the outcome? adjuvants do not cause harm or neurological problems, and increase the effectiveness of vaccines, therefore preventing more disease. how do we know lead poisoning causes harm? we know it via the exact same science that shows the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

It doesn’t matter who birthed the child, they are better equipped to understanding the biology of that child. This is why I hate that people think of this as a freedom issue. This is about health and safety not what color you want for your brand new Prius. At some point you lose the freedom to determine the wellness of your dependent.

You can’t make explosives, you must have safety features in your car, you can’t leave the country without a passport, you can’t drive a car unless your 16 and have a license, you can’t drink alcohol unless you’re 21, you can’t vote until your 18, you can’t serve alcohol without a license etc. You see, you confuse freedom with being able to do things. And by you not getting a vaccine means that the freedom of those who literally can’t get the vaccine is infringed. And when it comes down to you having to go to the doctors office and being given a SAFE MEDICALLY PROVEN IMMUNIZATION vs someone who is immune-compromised never being able to safely leave their house again, I think we know who’s “freedom” is more at stake. It shouldn’t be mandatory for your safety jackass. It should be mandatory so that you can’t make personal choices that affect other’s safety.
Also your beliefs are scientifically flawed. You have no more opinion on how vaccines work and how safe they are than you have an opinion on nuclear physics (assuming you aren’t a nuclear physicist. I’m going to take the bet that you aren’t though).

If you want to let a 13 year old drive the Jeep around on the farm, that's your decision. If you want to let that 13 year old drive the Jeep around on a public road, the relative risks are completely different and you're subject to rules that consider both individual and collective safety---for example, you might not ideologically agree with seatbelt laws, but they went into effect because of a mound of data that established their ability to save lives. Areas with higher rates of vaccine refusals tend to have higher incidence of vaccine-preventable disease among BOTH unvaccinated and vaccinated populations. The decision not to vaccinate can and does impact others.

The refusal to use them not only puts you at risk, but everyone around you. Your example is pitiful and fear-mongering. STATEMENT OF WILLIAM W. THOMPSON, Ph.D.: “My name is William Thompson. I am a Senior Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where I have worked since 1998. I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed.”

My joke about misusing words was to showcase that even when all of collected human knowledge is available to some people, they still figure out how to be uneducated. Let me help: look up, "the scientific method", "the difference between CORRELATION and CAUSATION" (there's some of those tricky look-alike words for ya), "what is a hypothesis", and "how to understand health statistics" to begin. After that, look into the specific concerns you have. Armed with your new understanding, I think you'll find it a very different read than you had previously.

Archival Reports on Vaccinations ... Anti Toxin = vaccine
Evidence from the Registrar-General Against Anti-Toxin.
The Registrar-General's sixtieth annual report, pages 72-79, shows that in 1878 the diphtheria death-rate for England and Wales, per million living (before anti-toxin), was only 140, whereas in 1897 (after anti-toxin treatment began) the death-rate increased to 246, being a rise of 106 per million living. A comparison between Leicester, London, and England and Wales is given in the following table, from which it will be seen that the death-rate from diphtheria almost doubled with the advent in 1894 of the serum treatment.
      TABLE 37.
Table showing from 1868 to 1910, in quinquennial periods, the death-rate from Diphtheria, per million population, for Leicester, London, and England and Wales.

It will be seen that a great rise in the diphtheria mortality took place in the quinquennia 1893-97 and 1898-1902, not only in Leicester, but also in London, and all over the country. It may be asked why was it so very fatal in Leicester ? As frequently happens, while more deaths occurred from diphtheria, there were fewer from other zymotic diseases, and these more than com≠pensated for the increase from diphtheria.' This is clearly seen from Table 43 (Appendix), which shows a great decrease in the death-rate per million from the seven principal zymotics in Leicester. In 1893-97, the death-rate was 2,997 per million ; in 1898-1902, it was 2,831 ; in 1903-07, it fell to 1,654 ; and in 1908-10, it was only 1,153. The great rise was, therefore, a transfer of fatality from one zymotic to another, but this only more fully proves the uselessness of diphtheritic serum as a prophylactic
