That light blue MK 1 Escort 1971 is from my area Cumbria BRM846J Workington or Whitehaven Registered and the black Granada Ghia X 1983 XHH100Y Carlisle Registered from County Garage was our local Ford dealer in Cumbria now long gone great to see some local car's still alive some lovely classic Ford's and classic Mini's at this Breakfast meet great video

If you are talking about the black Triumph, I believe it was a Toledo. The Dolly's, including the Sprint, and the 1500 all had twin headlights. The Toledo had the single rectangular headlights. My Dad had a '72 1500, bought it new. Very nice car. Of course I was an impressionable 17 yr old then.

Was a mk3 estate any bigger than a mk2 estate. I think it was later when cars started getting vastly larger with the next model. I think someone said the latest fiesta is now wider than a mk1 granada.

Too true, I had 2 mk1 Sweeney granadas, one ended up at smallfield banger track in the early 90's. (Still have the ghia grill)
Other one I sold to my sisters boyfriend, who wrote it off at box hill.

Amazing engines so Iv heard. A bit tall to fit in an Escort apparently. The Mk2 had a dry sump tho which I imagine is the best way to solve the issue. 👍
@@marcushayesford yeah they are dont have the aftermarket support of the k series though. Hence why your even seeing k swapped S2000's now. They are a bit tall. You can get them in with a heavily modified sump and a modified oil pick up. As the months go by more and more stuff is available of the shelf for k swapped escorts though.

Call me ignorant but from an outsiders perspective (no affiliation to any car club/ownership) there doesn’t seem to be much variety in power plants. Everything seems to be Zetec powered or some other Ford engine. Where’s the imagination in power plants?
They can only assemble so much store bought/bolt on stuff , then run out of any talent. Its on line hotrodding.
