- It's been a while since I've made a 'Cars Leaving' compilation so to take a break from the recent Drag Racing compilations I've switched it up and chosen to make this one all about the little Ford Anglia 105e! These clips are all filmed by myself from various meets and shows over the last 6/7 years.

My dream car since i was 17 years old, i live in mexico and here is a bit harder see a anglia on the streets, i'm 24 years old and only i had the pleasure of saw a two anglias one on my hometown and another one in other city in their 100% originally condition i hope have one of that little and beautiful car in some moment of my life.
I had one years ago. Liked it a lot but bit of a rot box. Rear spring hangers were just welded to boot floor. Very light on the back end. Useless in snow unless you put a layer of bricks in the boot. Mine had the 997cc engine in. Some had the 1200cc in. Went on to MG midgets. A lot more fun.
The sound of a small Ford getting it's neck Wrung is a memory from my youth. Anglias were all the rage in the late 60's in NZ. I had a Van with a 1340 and a Hitachi carb from a Datsun 1200. Not much top speed (around 85MPH) but it was quick getting there and for a couple of years while still at school it provided some real fun transport .

Such a beautiful car bought one back in 2017 for 2 grand 4 years on still haven't managed to get it back to original condition but I am nearing the finish line and hope to enter it into a car show in June.
Nothing churns up the adrenaline like the throaty roar and growl of twin Weber Carburettors as fitted on all these Anglias.

I had a 105E back in the early eighties. It had a 1500 Cortina Motor and Gearbox with double barrelled weber Carb. Also had widened wheels from a Cortina. It was quick off the mark and fun to do donuts in. Sadly I had to abandon it when my overseas trip went on longer than anticipated. Lately i've been thinking about getting one as a retirement project and fitting a suitable all wheel drive and motor from a Toyota Caldina as I just had one written off that would have been ideal to play with.
Since its been years since I've seen one in person I had a look online. The engine bay is much smaller than I remember. lol.
That old Ford was well nice
I love the way these guys spend so much time, effort and money transforming this little car from decades ago. Saying that, these same cars have a personality of their own - something cars today don't have.

This takes me back. I used to rally one back in the very early 70’s that had a lotus twincam engine in it. Surprised a few escorts I can tell you. ;-)
Not an engine swap you see much of these days, the Lotus Twincam does sound good 😎

I didn't used to like the shape of the Anglia but its grown in me over the years & I think they are better looking than a Mk1_escort.

I don;t know if I'd go that far, the Escort is one of the nicest styled saloons of the 60s, but the Anglebox is a classic too; is any car more recognisable?
Definitely would not like to upgrade my original 1200 Deluxe Estate into a Fire eating angry Granny. But, it maybe fun. Think of pulling up at a Stop light 🚦and trouncing a new Fiesta. Ouch.
