I like the car and the attention to detail. A few things i notice tho, when drilling any holes- you should then paint the inside of the hole. If you don't then the nut and bolt will hide the bare metal and it'll corrode. Especially in the boot area where its likely you'll get water ingress. I'd just have a touch up brush handy and cover up any bare metal. The next is jacking up the car and axle stands - both the jack and the stands must have some rubber on them to stop the paint being damaged on sills or chassis legs. The metal from either just scrapes through paint, especially initially when your jacking multiple points and the whole car is moving around. Modern Jack's have rubber plates, I use a cut up rubber flooring mat for the stands. The car is very nice 👌
You could make a MH logo lid for the spare wheel and store tools in it. I get it would look better as just a wheel facing up because of the polished rim etc but you could make something that looks more unique with a purpose. Double win. Just a thought. Then when you have 2 wheels you double your storage. Might want them M8+ bolts then though because of the weight obviously. Absolutely love Esther. You’re so lucky to have such an iconic car with so much flare. Fair play Marcus & Kat🙌🏻
Well explained with the relay 👍👍 Assume you have the feed that is directly from the battery fused?? The whole car could really benefit from a retire. Will be much more reliable without all those joints 😂😂
Hi Marcus if it was the releasbearing it wil make a noise when you press the clutch pedal,if it makes a noise on idling for example in neutral it is normally the input shaft bearing in the gearbox.
Marcus I which I could come and help you on these days that are sent to test you. Great work sorting out the problems on Esther its now all go for Ireland safe trip for you and Cat.
Marcus living the dream! You do put immense stress on the car and im not shocked that things snap or bang however you fix them yourself so fair play to you! Just be very careful now that you are broadcasting your driving as there are many people who will report you and the law has changed now where you can get prosecuted by video! Enjoy yourself but be very very careful and remember its not all about speed!
The driving clips are all done on private, closed roads and everything is exaggerated with video editing trickery! And its clearly not me driving anyway! 😜
-2 deg is still really too much for the road unless you plan to track day it as well, generally half to 1 degree neg camber, parallel or eighth toe in & 3 to 4.5 degree castor. For the pump you need a decent diameter wire to help with voltage drop as it’s probably pulling a few amps, if it can’t pressurise the rail correctly you’ll get a poor injector pattern and it’ll probably be underfuelled. Hopefully you didn’t pick out and use the original Mk1 loom wires as they’re not up to it. Get yourself some spools of wires/supplies and a decent fuse box from car builder solutions etc and make a new loom to get the reliability
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 Wheel alignment is a personal preference. I personally like quite aggressive camber because it helps the car turn in to corners sharply (as does the slight toe out on the tracking) There were no fuel pump wires in the loom as the car had a mechanical fuel pump originally. The wire going through the car for the fuel pump is very thick, probably 6 times thicker than the wires that come attached to the pump itself. 👍
Great video marcus thanks was thinking you could screw the top of the spare holder on cut it to the length you want then put on the plastic cap job done mate
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 I do want to be able to carry 2 spares if I ever need to tho. I think the answer is to have a smaller screw on piece made to extend the post for carrying one wheel. Then when I need to carry 2 I can unscrew the small extension and screw in the large extension.
Market Haynes keep up the good work you do on your escorts and keep doing a video footage cause it is very interesting to watch and the mark 2 is looks better than the mark to instead of a murder one I never had a mark 1 so that's why I'm saying that for but each to loan people prefer the mark 1 Right my mate he had a Marty when he was younger I mean a mark one and he says the Martin was better than the Escort that is mark 2
I’m sorry Marcus but you getting attacked by your own garage door was too damn funny, I couldn’t breathe😆😆😆😆😆😆 and that was after a inuendo and those are always funny but I think that’s just cuz I’m a child mentally
Hi Marcus, the transportation guy seems like such a nice guy, awesome video, maybe see you the next time you and your beautiful girlfriend Cat 🐈⬛ come to Northern Ireland. I’d love to get you guys an Ulster fry, it’s such a belly buster.
Che is an absolute legend mate! 👍 Proper positive bloke and a proper petrol head. He's also extremely professional in his work so you know your car is in safe hands with him. Hes a very talented mechanic too.
Its attached where the reverse light is bolted to the body mate (to save drilling an extra hole) The rear lights in the actual cluster (separate from the reverse light) are earthed through the inner nut for that cluster. If I remember rightly the reverse light has 2 wires and isnt earthed through the reverses light unit. Wouldn't matter anyway, the earths just go to the body. 👍

Just a thought all the money you spend between all of you including your father on renting garages could you not just get yourself half decent size unit and put a ramp in it probably cost the same as renting all those garages but I suppose as it’s London would be more expensive but not sure
I do often wonder how people on RUclips get away with posting videos of them going to mexico, even with the number plates shown as well! Don't get me wrong I love to see it but I suppose a magician never reveals his secrets 😂

Nope, as long as they're in the correct place when the vehicle is on the ground! Being loose in the spring seat when jacked up isn't a reason for failure 👍
Drill a small hole in the spring cup an run a cable tie that's what we do on "bosch" lowering kits 🤣

Cutting it fine...u like living on the edge 😆 have a safe journey and great time my friend and already looking forward to the content 👍👍👍
21.30 I think your right. A full rewire is a good idea. It looks scary as it is
I just need to go through it and lengthen/shorten/re-route certain wires to make it look neater mate. 👍
You could make a screw on screw off tube off 2 inches or so in length so can carry 2 wheels if needed without altering the original post
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 Thats a great idea.👍
Well explained with the relay 👍👍 Assume you have the feed that is directly from the battery fused?? The whole car could really benefit from a retire. Will be much more reliable without all those joints 😂😂

Asusual very Entertaining keep having fun and stay Safe on the Journey.

Yes to bubble archers!
Spare wheels are generally mounted "upside down", and the jack etc placed in the wheel. It is a waste of space to mount the wheel the correct way up.
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 I kind of wanted to try to store a jack under the wheel (wrapped up to protect the paint of course.)
Marcus thanks for pointing out the front spring situation
👍
cut up some rubber floor mat for your spare, and space the post off the boot floor, job done.
Spacer would be the neatest option
Maybe use a classic mini wheel spacer for the spare wheel post?

You could’ve put the other half of the post on to have the spare the right way up ??? 😳
why didnt u use the ecu to control your fuelpump? its has so much more benefits
👍👍👍 hope ya have or had a great trip 👍👍👍
It was awesome mate! 👍 Vids coming soon.
Nice one once again Marcus and well done for getting the manifold sorted so quickly bud
Thanks for watching mate! 👍
My pleasure as always Marcus
I like watching these vids 👌
2 things Marcus. Did the spare wheel have a crack in it? Also how about a square plate underneath the spare wheel post to stop the floor flexing 🤔.
Unfortunate turn of events but great watching lol
Thanks for watching mate! 👍

Glad you enjoy the videos mate! 👍 'Heidi' merch will be coming eventually.
Thank you so much for the reply can you give me a shout out
