@@Five_pebbles950 One route's low blood pressure. Which I have. It can take upwards of 5 minutes to draw my blood for small tests. Most doctors do not have the payience to sit around for half an hour to fill one of those bags or do not have a bed free, and will simply rush to the next test.

I love that Heather is just the Dib of this universe. A little not right in the head, obsessed with dissecting their enemy, ya know. I think it’s so neat that this series has ocean creature characters, elemental characters, and one of the antagonists is just the Psychotic Dissector. When I run out of fictional universes to obsess over, at least I know these characters exist and I love them hehe
I love how silly and genuinely horrifying some of the things that the Heather does and how she's just such a great villain. It's genuinely amazing how great you are at showing personality with your characters without even a word. And even near the end, you get to show the villain have just a bit of humanity when they stare in shock/fear at the floating water. But then when you show her telling her assistant to walk off a literal stab wound, it reminds us that she still isn't in any way empathetic or caring.
2:29 - 2:36 does anyone notice that the hunter or butcher or whatever looks terrified when she fails, and even after when she looks at the blood. Like she desperately needed it. I feel like Imma get a theory or sum

I’ll be putting my take on the animatic’s, though mostly Heather (the butcher)‘s, plot, character beats, motivations here for my and anyone else’s reference: So! Given that Heather is a mermaid hunter, we can leave the capture of Delta up to imagination. Then, we base this off the question that’s yet to leave my mind: Why does Heather seem to *need* the blood so? Given a read over the slides within the description, Mermaid Blood has a distinctive healing property. Given Heather’s measurement off a blood sample’s properties(?), we can assume she was determining the tier of the blood. Given how distraught she was at the inconsiderate bonk of her tank, we can assume it was of high tier, which is likely what she needs to be able to cure that scar she hides under her magnificent hair swooop. At the filling of the tank, Heather was readying a strike at Delta, so we can assume that she only wanted enough to cure her scar and possibly to sell, giving the mermaid meat some semblance of a chance to sell well. Through this, we can see the general use of mermaid hunters: They collect blood, properly; harvest meat, and scales; and decrease the chance of the race being discovered by giving them reason to hide, making it a controlled market. Conclusion? Mermaid Hunters are a supreme, skilled, very rich branch of hunters. Sad to say Charles(stabbed himbo) doesn’t exactly fit our description here. He’s likely a mercenary that found his way into Mermaid Hunting by association. This was long, might edit this down.. or up. 🤧
Adding to this: It looks like Heather had an aquarium for merfolk? Given that there was only one skeleton, could we say it was a special mermaid to Heather? 🌝 That, and that the tank looks big enough for a pod(?) of merfolk, so we could technically assume she killed the rest, but left the last one to starve, and be eaten by the other organisms in the tank. Beyond that, it means that mermaids were once so common, in either hers or a relative/mentor’s time, that people could stand to have aquariums made for them, instead of selling outright. Like exotic pets. Could we be facing a Mermaid Endangered Species? Is this how they’d get reduced to mythos?
You did not pull any punches on how horrific that woman is. I got moments thinking 'Oh, she'll kill me without a hitch', wonderful job at portraying her characters, and I loved that action bit, it had a lot of movement. This is a wonderful work, and really made me inspired!
God I'm so charmed by this as a whole, fighting sequence, the movement of the character entering the room and charging against the lady?? It was made perfect, as well as the scenario! It's so full of detail and yet works just enough not to steal the focus from the main characters.

Love the unhinged vibe that Heather (that's her name, right?) has, the cutaways to Mariza coming to rescue Delta, the transitions between scenes and the incredible detail in the backgrounds. Also, that part where the music cuts when Mariza uses her powers and you just hear sound effects WAS SO COOL!! And that fight between Mariza and Heather GOES SO HARD. Any insight into your pirate universe is always cool, I love all the characters so much :D
and it gives me a semicanon timeframe. 0:34 Pirates were around in the 17th and 18th century, and laughing gas was invented in 1772, so it's probably around that time

Due to the song not specifying that she doesn’t want anything more than to cut up average body parts, it did not strike me as wanting to gain higher power, but an attempt to commit murder on whatever she could get her hands on.
-the way the frames picked up during the faster/more intense scenes -The fact that I thought the cloaked person was an accomplice until she broke into the lab to rescue the fish lady -the DREAD I felt when I saw the skeleton stuff everywhere 😟 So many amazing things. This animatic was spectacular!
Every time I just imagine Heather pausing in the middle of 'oo' as the big muscly guy literally drags Delta into another room and ties her into a chair and then her just pirouetting after them like a demented ballerina
this is the most unhinged animatic I've watched and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. the psycho faces, the way a scene can go from "fun" to FEREL IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. a prime example is the cut to the "basement" from the first room. the moment that scene change happened i was just left sitting there thinking "well sh*t's about to go down." heather is a maniac and I ADORE her for it. the smoothness of the movements, down to the small details in the backgrounds. you could GENUNLY feel the fear in delta's face while she was getting laid down to be BUTCHERED ALIVE. so more or less. perfect animatic. 10/10. would animatic again.
One of my favorite things in story telling is Chekhov’s gun, especially when it’s done right. 0:12 - 3:00 This here was a very good use of it, well done Shandzii.

Basically, it's when you introduce an idea, object, character, etc, early on in a movie or book, said thing should have a pay off (be used to resolve the conflict) I don't know why the OP said 0:12 and 3:00 count as chekov's gun. I think they were talking about the fish tank? Like, we see there's a fish tank in the room at the beginning, and then the villain gets defeated by her own fish tank in the end. That's a form of chekov's gun
I ACTUALLY CAN’T STOP SMILING HAHA OH MY GOSH??? Either Heather’s unhinged facial expressions are rubbing off on me or I’m just THAT blown away. First of all I LOVE the song you chose. Your animatics have introduced me to so many amazing songs I swear this is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the week. And secondly you are just SO GOOD at telling stories without any dialogue! Like even if the song wasn’t playing I would still be able to tell what’s going on. You did a wonderful job showing what Heather’s motive is too…like when the blood is spilled she immediately stops fighting and runs over to inspect it instead. And the battle scene itself was INCREDIBLEEEEE 😭💕 The glass shattering sound effect made me gasp out loud omgggg I could honestly keep rambling but I won’t because this is getting really long I’m sorry lol. Point is this is so fantastic and I’m exited to learn more about your characters!

Honestly, this is such a superhero scenario. Delta about to be turned into sushi but the Villains takes just long enough to monologue for Mariza to arrive in the nick of time. When she killed it, the position somehow transfers to her, so she slowly starts transforming, which is the blue bits in her hair. The video is called "Ship in a Bottle", it's pretty good.

WAIT A MOMENT! All the wanted posters we see on Heather's desk seem to be for Delta and her crew, not other random mers. The other thing on the desk (the thing she looks at near the end, at 3:37) seems to be a letter. With her comparing Delta to the wanted poster at the beginning, is it possible that she's specifically looking for them for some reason that's tied to the letter?
It could be a bounty of some sort. But many others think it's because of Heather's facial scar. And since mermaid(?) Blood can apparently heal wounds or such, she may be tryna gather enough to heal her scar
@@KarmaVein Yeah, this animatic world is so interesting! There seems to be a new one every three to four months or so, so I'm excited to know that the next one will likely be soon! (Of course, any animatic takes a while to make, and these ones are especially complex, so no pressure or upset if it takes a while. I'm just excited!)
The part with the forced blood-draining reminded me of how this is an actual problem in India. People lure in immigrants, who are often very poor, with the promise of housing and a job, but then keep them locked up, draw blood from them several times a week, and sell the blood in the black market. A dozen victims may be held captive in one house, left too weak to defend themselves from becoming even weaker.
Little detail that i loved and maybe has a meaning: the singer use the hair to hide the scar in right eyes and we just see it when she gets mad (2:43) and in the end (3:26 and 3:46). Other details (probably obvius)/teorys/assumptions: 1. In 1:14 and 1:15 we see a hall with a lot of pictures with Heather appearing in them all being three of four with "scientist posture" 2. In 2:15 we see the room of the beginning in other perspective. We can see that the armchair is made of mermaide scales and a mermaid skeleton in the ceiling (the owner of the mermaid's scale maybe?) 3. In 2:17, we see that the office is suspiciously nothing secret. In the office, we see some cells (1:23 and 1:33), researches in walls (0:49 , 1:27, 2:03), chain in the ceiling(obvious reasons, 0:45/0:46, 1:09, 1:42, 1:58), a black board that appears also in one picture in the hall (1:15) (1:37, 2:07) and a lot of stuffs about body parts and a gunpowder barrel (0:43). 4. We see two samples of blood, a unknow (0:12) and Delta's (1:00-1:10). 5. This is lovely! Everything; the backgrounds, the poses, and of course, the lore! I love every pixel of this! The shading adds value and significance to the most intricate of details, such as the more emphasized colors of the butcher's knife at 1:35, and of course the characters moving on the screen. Lastly, The 'fight' sequence was stunning, and the song choice fits exceedingly well!
When you go crazy for beauty, you become like her. That's why she wants Delta's blood (by the way, Delta is the mermaid she thought to cut into pieces). I don't know why she needs mermaid pieces, it's a good collection since she's also a mad scientist. She is actually very old, but she uses mermaid blood to preserve her beauty and youth, plus a salary because she sells mermaid blood formula to members of high society. And yes... she is very beautiful, and these are just some fun facts from the presentation in the video description and from more videos with Heather. I so wish this was a show. I love, by the way, Heather's trick of looking innocent, sweet, and charismatic while being radically crazy.
Oh, this is the best! I'm super invested in the stories of these characters. Plus anything with "happy-go-lucky woman that likes picking people apart for fun" always gets me. Hope to see more of these fish and folk!

I’ll be putting my take on the animatic’s, though mostly Heather (the butcher)‘s, plot, character beats, motivations here for my and anyone else’s reference:
So! Given that Heather is a mermaid hunter, we can leave the capture of Delta up to imagination. Then, we base this off the question that’s yet to leave my mind: Why does Heather seem to *need* the blood so?
Given a read over the slides within the description, Mermaid Blood has a distinctive healing property. Given Heather’s measurement off a blood sample’s properties(?), we can assume she was determining the tier of the blood. Given how distraught she was at the inconsiderate bonk of her tank, we can assume it was of high tier, which is likely what she needs to be able to cure that scar she hides under her magnificent hair swooop.
At the filling of the tank, Heather was readying a strike at Delta, so we can assume that she only wanted enough to cure her scar and possibly to sell, giving the mermaid meat some semblance of a chance to sell well.
Through this, we can see the general use of mermaid hunters: They collect blood, properly; harvest meat, and scales; and decrease the chance of the race being discovered by giving them reason to hide, making it a controlled market.
Conclusion? Mermaid Hunters are a supreme, skilled, very rich branch of hunters.
Sad to say Charles(stabbed himbo) doesn’t exactly fit our description here. He’s likely a mercenary that found his way into Mermaid Hunting by association.

Given that there was only one skeleton, could we say it was a special mermaid to Heather? 🌝
That, and that the tank looks big enough for a pod(?) of merfolk, so we could technically assume she killed the rest, but left the last one to starve, and be eaten by the other organisms in the tank.
Beyond that, it means that mermaids were once so common, in either hers or a relative/mentor’s time, that people could stand to have aquariums made for them, instead of selling outright. Like exotic pets.

Love the unhinged vibe that Heather (that's her name, right?) has, the cutaways to Mariza coming to rescue Delta, the transitions between scenes and the incredible detail in the backgrounds. Also, that part where the music cuts when Mariza uses her powers and you just hear sound effects WAS SO COOL!! And that fight between Mariza and Heather GOES SO HARD. Any insight into your pirate universe is always cool, I love all the characters so much :D

this is the most unhinged animatic I've watched and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. the psycho faces, the way a scene can go from "fun" to FEREL IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. a prime example is the cut to the "basement" from the first room. the moment that scene change happened i was just left sitting there thinking "well sh*t's about to go down." heather is a maniac and I ADORE her for it. the smoothness of the movements, down to the small details in the backgrounds. you could GENUNLY feel the fear in delta's face while she was getting laid down to be BUTCHERED ALIVE.

Either Heather’s unhinged facial expressions are rubbing off on me or I’m just THAT blown away. First of all I LOVE the song you chose. Your animatics have introduced me to so many amazing songs I swear this is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the week. And secondly you are just SO GOOD at telling stories without any dialogue! Like even if the song wasn’t playing I would still be able to tell what’s going on. You did a wonderful job showing what Heather’s motive is too…like when the blood is spilled she immediately stops fighting and runs over to inspect it instead. And the battle scene itself was INCREDIBLEEEEE 😭💕

The other thing on the desk (the thing she looks at near the end, at 3:37) seems to be a letter. With her comparing Delta to the wanted poster at the beginning, is it possible that she's specifically looking for them for some reason that's tied to the letter?
It could be a bounty of some sort. But many others think it's because of Heather's facial scar. And since mermaid(?) Blood can apparently heal wounds or such, she may be tryna gather enough to heal her scar

The part with the forced blood-draining reminded me of how this is an actual problem in India. Holy sh*t this went from fantasy problem to real world problem real fast. It’s horrifying what people will do for money.
Little detail that i loved and maybe has a meaning: the singer use the hair to hide the scar in right eyes and we just see it when she gets mad (2:43) and in the end (3:26 and 3:46). Other details (probably obvius)/teorys/assumptions:
1. In 1:14 and 1:15 we see a hall with a lot of pictures with Heather appearing in them all being three of four with "scientist posture"
2. In 2:15 we see the room of the beginning in other perspective. We can see that the armchair is made of mermaide scales and a mermaid skeleton in the ceiling (the owner of the mermaid's scale maybe?)
3. In 2:17, we see that the office is suspiciously nothing secret. In the office, we see some cells (1:23 and 1:33), researches in walls (0:49 , 1:27, 2:03), chain in the ceiling(obvious reasons, 0:45/0:46, 1:09, 1:42, 1:58), a black board that appears also in one picture in the hall (1:15) (1:37, 2:07) and a lot of stuffs about body parts and a gunpowder barrel (0:43).
4. We see two samples of blood, a unknow (0:12) and Delta's (1:00-1:10).

I don't know why she needs mermaid pieces, it's a good collection since she's also a mad scientist. She is actually very old, but she uses mermaid blood to preserve her beauty and youth, plus a salary because she sells mermaid blood formula to members of high society. And yes... she is very beautiful, and these are just some fun facts from the presentation in the video description and from more videos with Heather. I so wish this was a show. I love, by the way, Heather's trick of looking innocent, sweet, and charismatic while being radically crazy.

Sometimes i forget how beautiful and telling simple expressions can be, the exaggerated expressions are great but the simple ones are just as great, you know exactly what the characters feel. Especially when working with the body language. 10/10 animation
