I like how you always insist to pay for the food so as not to have biased reviews. Not many people do that. Really passionate about good reviewing and sharing good food to the audience.
Old school values. Younger influencers in Australia want everything for free. And they’re not shy about asking for free either! These young people today lah…they don’t understand what it’s like to be poor.
Agree, as viewers we want fair recommendations. Most importantly is taste good else it can waste our trip to travel down to eat.... Especially if we bring our family and friends go there then see their disappointment face.
You bring the best food I really missed all these hawkers foods after been away for 46 years But keep all the beautiful memories of Singapore Keep safe and healthy eating everyday 👍😊🙏
Today afternoon I go buy....abit sourish at the end of tasting.... maybe due to the super hot weather....even though they make it freshly.... could be the morning session left over preparing for afternoon use.
There is this hiong kee dumplings at hong lim complex food centre. Previously it was at the second level, think they shifted their shop to the ground floor. you may want to check them out too as it's pretty good too.
So rare to find bak zhangs sold outside using bamboo strings than the plastic rafa strings! Making bak zhangs is very tedious, I only do it like once in a blue moon LOL. So I can understand the price point.
do you know where to buy good traditional teochew bak Chang. For teochew bak Chang, the pork belly and mushrooms are finely cut not chunky and with red bean taste. That's how my Mom used to make them
Thumbs up for not using raffia (plastic) string to wrap the dumplings. We should avoid dumplings with raffia strings. Eating food boiled with plastic cannot be good for health.
Although lemak in the Malay language is a general-purpose word for fat (lemak babi translates to pork lard), in a culinary context the term refers exclusively to the coconut milk creaminess in dishes like nasi lemak and laksa lemak, or Malay and Nyonya kuehs
I love hawker food, but absolutely hate the amount of plastic and other non-biodegradable waste it generates from disposable straws and cutleries to single-use plates and containers even when we are eating there. I hope we can all make much more effort to reduce using them and switch to reusable ones.

👍🥙
oil richness means lemak is it?
Not for Bak chang. Oil richness here means pork fat and/or vegetable/shallot oil
Although lemak in the Malay language is a general-purpose word for fat (lemak babi translates to pork lard), in a culinary context the term refers exclusively to the coconut milk creaminess in dishes like nasi lemak and laksa lemak, or Malay and Nyonya kuehs
I like bak chang, than nonya chang which not sweet, 😁
very fast sold out

OMG very expensive LER...
Lim Peh only got $2 LER , can ask for HALF??? 🤭😲🤣
It is consider cheap because made in Singapore. I compare with the Bakcang in Indonesia even more expensive than this 1.
Quite cheap only S$2 each! TQ
Is $3.80 and $4.60.

Cheap or expensive? TQ
$3.80 to 4.60 can buy you a meal instead a snack. U decide depend on your spending power.
