12:04 I **really** love what you did here. Usually, content creators just mention the issue they have with patches. Here, you showed me the solution; how to cut the fluff and lessen the useless quests like "Go to point A to talk to X, then go to B to talk to Y". You've really enlightened me with how it could be better. Thank you for the video!

Great review. One thing I notice that most reviewers do is criticize one thing but they don't offer an alternative. You did the opposite. Criticize a certain aspect and then offer an alternative.
That actually one of my criticisms as well, make the dialogue concise and brief.

I 100% agree about your suggestion for having timer during cutscene. That also can help us decide to skip or not.

I get it if you don't like the fluff but I don't mind when it's well written, which is the case here. I feel like such contracted versions that distil the information down to the absolutely necessary parts are only required when you get it done and over with because the presentation sucks.
And as you said, this is a looong patch, so a bit of interesting fluff is honestly fine with me.

I love the fluff, but i agree that some of the scenes are unnecessary in the sense that it could have better transition with one another, like the abby scenes or the scenes where the characters were talking on top of the mountain about the key thing. They feel dragged out and for some, it'll make the scene less hype(?) because the tension is disappearing with the long pause before the battle. If they change those the game will be even better, which i hope they do
I felt the same^. I actually did like the underground puzzle sections because they were not simply puzzle sections. They were actually doing some lore exposition too. Granted that we were already spoiled of Jinshi past in the animated PV. It was still good to go through it. And I liked the sense of mystery it creates about court of savantae and kinda helps worldbuilding. For me, even their "fluff" part was mostly meaningful and engaging with useful information.
The only place where I disliked it was abby's cutscene ( way too long). And the scene before the final battle with Jue, kinda feel streched. Rest of the pacing was reallly great to me.
Man I wish they'd voice all of Rover's lines. I really enjoyed that part of ZZZ when Belle and Wise would actually talk all the time. It's just so weird to me how characters are talking to you and you response with silence and they go "Ah yes!".
SAME hearing the expressiveness in Belle's voice really makes her actually feel like a character that im interested in and definitely missing that feeling in wuwa and genshin.
game pushed me to near 80 pity for jinhsi and her weapon (69 and 72 respectively). also got yinlin and her weapon prior to this update, so perfect 50/50 streak so far. we'll see if i start to regret burning my savings for jinhsi when changli comes 😭

@@vampiszoonis9691 i paid for the first battle pass and still haven't used the bp weapon cause i already have 2 5* standard swords, 5* broadblade and 5* gun now after UL45 weapon box, aside from jinhsi & yinlin sigs. worst comes to worst changli can use the swords lol
i really want yinlin but i lost on her banner, 74 pulls and i got calcharo.
pretty sad because i prefer yinlin rather than chang li.
but luckily i got jinhsi and her weapon early.
@@vampiszoonis9691 i only bought the first insider pass and now the bp broadblade i initially got for calcharo is collecting dust cause I managed to get standard 5* broadblade, and 2 swords from standard weapon banner, and standard 5* gun from UL45 care package

Hell the game literally stated that paimon talks so much cuz the travelers couldn’t speak teyvays language but guess what, GAMES DONT TELL YOU THIS IN THR STORY.

@@JordinKun I had to go through their voicelines and paimon flat out says “ wow traveler you’ve gotten better at speaking teyvats language”
This voicelines is roughly around the time we left to go to inszuma.
Not to mention the traveler woke up 6 months before the game started yet could somehow read books about the abyss before learning to speak teyvat
To add onto it the name that we give them is just a fake name the traveler uses cuz they don’t like telling people anything about them.
The worst thing is, when lore i actually important, they will insert a random npc or make Paimon talk whilst ham fisting you all the relevant info. Wanderer's quest is the best example

Lmao most of Genshin players got their lore knowledge by passing by memes/fanarts/other people comments &etc, there's no sane person who actually like go through Genshin yapfest story themselves
W review. On point on pretty much everything. On the longevity issue, I think we can't hope for much. I think almost all gatcha games are inherently created with the expectation that after consuming the major patch content, you go to dalies mode and chill. They are trying to balance the casual and dedicated experiance, so this is an unfortunate reality. It's not a big issue for me since I have a million other things to do. When I'm done exploring Mt.Firamament I'll go finish the Elden Ring DLC etc.
Yeah exactly I have other things to do but there are those other ppl who think because wuwa hasn’t posted anything in 2 weeks it’s “dead” when in reality they’re building the next piece of content
This patch locked me into this game, I was saving for Jinshi and the 10 weapon banner pulls they gave out gave me Jinshi's weapon so I'm beyond happy. I know the 40 days are gonna be long, but I'm cool to wait personally. Hope they keep the ball rolling I'd love to see this game continue to improve, please cut some of the yapping that's what I ask.
one thing i really like about 1.1 is atleast for the english voices, its such a big improvement in the direction and flows alot better

i'm gonna be honest atp i think yapping and bloated dialogue is just a thing in gacha stories. even the gachas that are known for having a "good story" have arcs that are literally full of unnecessary yapping. ofc i'd love if they can improve it as well, i think the "show, don't tell" rule would make for a much more compelling storytelling but i guess i'm just used to this type of storytelling in these types of games. even when they have and interesting story and concept, they always add a ton of fluff for some reason.
I liked the idea of having a timer for how long the conversation will take during the mission, it gives an idea of "I wonder if I'll do this mission now, oops this dialogue will last 10 minutes, I think I'll go here and do it later"
You opened up about the 3 things to complete 4 times but offered an alternative regarding the talking. I thought you were really gonna offer a good alternative to the puzzles. Also, the alternative you offered would change Abby's personality. Having him eat and not answer would just cement the fact that he doesn't care too much which will cut a lot of his talking and essentially becoming a second MC and change his personality to a snobbish thing that only likes food. Its all up to preference but I honestly think if they implemented what you wanted Abby won't be well received as they are now. The timer thing personally will just take me out of the immersive experience and just have me check how long the talking is.
Weakest parts of this update to me are the storytelling(like he said in the vid) and the writing. Theres still quite a bit of yapping and repeating stuff in the dialogue. But other than that, this update was freaking amazing

Jué is a Sentinel, and I hope we get to meet more like them, I loved how imposing they were in the story, and hearing their voice in English was a pleasant surprise as it sounds really good (I play in Chinese).
I like to think that we players will still have more things to do for this patch, as Changli's Companion Quest is yet to be released, and I think they will be adding additional events for the patch, I could be wrong though.
I really like and appreciate your review! It's good to see someone finally offer alternatives to fix or change certain aspects of the game for it to improve instead of just mindlessly complaining.

Very true about the game just crashing in Mobile. Had to quit bcuz it keeps stuttering even though my phone can handle Genshin, HSR, and ZZZ. There's just something that's unoptimized I think. I did what as much as a I can to make it run smooth even in the lowest possible setting.
That sucks, this recent patch made the game buttery smooth for me, so I know they're still optimizing. Hopefully, they'll catch all the players that want to play the game.
Just got Jinhsi’s weapon with the free ten pull Kuro gifted us. It was blessed pulls man. Now I can save up for Changli. I have about 11k left over from Jinhsi. Praying everyone wins the 50/50. If not then I’m spending for her.

It’s really only the god awful optimization on mobile that’s holding this game back for me. I’m still gonna stay strong on my phone for a certain researcher that looks a lot like X from Reverse 1999 tho. When I get him I’ll probably take a break until I get a new computer.
danggg i play on pc and the game is a total blast, but i feel bad for those who cant enjoy it because of optimization issues. I always find myself rooting for people who would set a goal to get a pc to play it, just means how good the game is for them and want them to experience the game smoothly. Hoping you stay strong and be able to play it without problem soon

You know what I'm missing. Controller support cuz playing with touch screen controls is still bearable but not fun.

The fact that changli uses the jump button in her combo, why is no one mentioning it?
letting only Jinshi fight Jue and rover just only watch is fucking emotional, If it was Genshin I'm like 90% sure the Traveler just come in save the guy doing the 1v1 or the traveler is the one resolving other people affairs. I'm glad Kuro have trust in their own characters and believe they can developed better on their own.

I didn’t do the story quest till about 3 days ago, I haven’t unlocked all waypoints, I learned my lesson in genshin, spread it out play it in bursts game doesn’t feel “dead” if you’re not playing for 8 hours a day.
Big thing is if I’m not enjoying myself right then, as long as if my daily’s are done and waveplates spent I just close the game and play it either later in the day or the Next day.

It’s not disrespect. I’m just surprised you can do better than her.
The only issue for me is the repetition of dialogues which lead to dialogue bloating. Fortunately, that's just the middle part of the main quest, everything else is fine.
I feel like the second half of 1.1 patch is related to that maple tree at the middle of mt. firmament.
Yeah the udea of exploration dialogue in exchange of just yapoing cutscene is great, take example of god of war ps5

I hated the abby part you suggested really great stuff there hopefully they do it better idk why like who are writing these they def need to do better
They should implement a round based game mode, similar to Warframe, where you have to defend an object from enemies, and every 5 rounds, the enemies get slightly stronger. As for the rewards, it should be Exp items, materials, and echo tuners, and the longer you stay, the more rewards you shall receive.
By adding this game mode, it'll incentivize players to keep grinding the game whenever there's a content drought, as well as prepare for the next patch/character banner.
13:10 the problem with ur story is they want seperate info about us and introduction of abby in one place when we learn exactly what happend after abby suc dremless and focus on things that they dont shown and then use another quest to have a reason why we ask about mt firmament the short cut bettwen these quest have a reason bcs rover get dream when he dreamed of mt firmament and jue thats why whole plottwist start i know u just think of that in like 5 min but i can understand why they do that, they can condese both these quest and quit yapping but maybe they want us to be more familiar with abby idk

I hate that since the start of the game the only thing they've done with river is glaze them to hell and back.
Generally speaking I don't like the story so far. In concept it's fine but chapters 1, 2 and 3 are mindless expo 4 and 5 are pretty good, and 6 is just jangling keys and flashing lights to hide bad writting and pacing. This one was amazing. The scenery and way they set the mood with changli leading you in. How they play into the tension and love between her and jinhsi. The way Jué plays into everything. All that, until they lose all momentum to glaze rover and make them the center of focus again despite the important part being Jinhsi and rover's roll with Jué adding nothing.
Also side note, after playing zzz and hearing good voiceacting again I can't stand another second of the poor va's trying to guess at what's happening while burrying their at times VERY thick accent while direction is taking a smoke break.
PS: pulled for Jinhsi after this story, still loved her to death both in it and before.
First, bring this game to console. A game like this is best on a controller. Second....why tf is it still Genshin 2.0
