  • A mid-April storm coated the Rubies with almost a foot of fresh snow, and I was keen to head back and hit some lines I had gazed at the prior weekend. Andrew drove out to meet me from Salt Lake and the party was on. Phenomenal skiing.

Great video, that wipeout rolling right back into skiing was a pro move, keep ripping!

Theses videos are great! Like every persons accessibility feel. Nevada looks to have endless skiing. Thanks!

Nevada does indeed have endless skiing, so much to explore. I always feel like I am just scratching the surface.

I have Heli skied in that Basin. Fun lines. You had to work a lot harder than I did to get those turns. Good video.

Haha, I bet! That must've been a killer trip. Such a great zone back there.

Did you ever find your DWTs chattery in turns when they were new? Mine are new, just a few tours under my belt, and when the snow gets hard they grab and skitter over the snow with a bunch of vibration. They’re solid when the snow is softer, but as-is they’re exhausting to ski on hard pack or chalk. Wondering if they need a base grind and edge work.

Hmm, might be how new the edges are? Maybe they will naturally detune a bit with more use...the other day with my new pair of Sierra Tours I noticed the edges were quite grabby on icy/bulletproof. I expect them to break in a bit. I have certainly skied my DWTs in all matter of horribly chattery snow, and I wouldn't say they are any worse than any other plank in such conditions. I love the way they perform in chalk and mank, especially for a touring ski.
