Thank you so much for sharing this. I was on the verge of tears as they left flowers on her casket, began to cry when they prayed over their father's grave, and lost all composure when they moved their prayers to the final resting place of their Uncle Jack and Aunt Jackie ♥️
It’s fitting that for a member of a family that fought for civil rights for African-Americans, Mrs. Kennedy is laid to rest by the first black American cardinal, Wilton Gregory. Requiescat in Pace! 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Mrs. Kennedy is not only together again with her husband, Robert. She's also the same with their sons, David and Michael. David died of a drug overdose in 1984. Michael died in a skiing accident in 1997. Godspeed to them all.
JFK has the eternal flame and fancy setup, RFK has a simple cross off to the side that is frankly just as powerful if not more so due to its simplicity.
Please folks, I'm 78 and was taught many years ago not to speak ill of the dead. We are all sinners at the end. That is a marble cross over her husband's grave, ahe will be next to him. There is no grave under her on the plaza. I suspect it's there because it's flat for the mourners. Love to all from Baltimore.
Thank you for providing us with a viewing of her gravesite service. That she lived a long, fruitful life given to our Lord, her family, and the causes so vital to her heart, is testimony to her devotion to Christ our Lord and Savior, to our Mother Mary, and to all she encountered. Watching the family and dearest to her heart as she was then to be laid to rest beside beloved Bobby so near to President Kennedy and courageous Jackie and their littlest angels brings anew tears once shed so many times before, so long ago. May Angels watch over their loved ones. Blessed be Ethel Kennedy.

A suitable accompaniment to this video is the very moving and eloquent British Pathé newsreel on Robert Kennedy's obsequies and burial in 1968. It includes the arrival of the mourners at Arlington for what would become a nighttime burial. Their train had been delayed by three hours, I think, due to a tragic and fatal collision of a freight service with some of those who had lined the tracks to pay tribute. In the film you'll see the bearers come up that hill, actually overshooting the plot for a lack of direction. If you search 'Robert Kennedy Funeral (1968) | British Pathé' you'll find it. A remarkable account.
As a black American 🇺🇸 I’m old enough to remember a few of the stands Mrs. Ethel Kennedy took at a time when it wasn’t popular for a white woman to do so - especially one not from the Deep South. Being from Mississippi (in the cradle of Dixie), l remember well the racism and sudden death a black man faced. I not old enough, however; to remember the role the Kennedy Family played in Civil Rights in the 1960s. I do remember though, the last vestiges of the struggle. I also remember Mrs. Kennedy speaking often over the years calling for justice, equal rights and fairness. She called for those things not only for black Americans; all Americans, all peoples; regardless of race, color or creed. Farewell to a great civil rights champion and thank you for everything….
Could it be that she was the wife of a senator? This is just a guess on my part, because I had the same question about the honor guard being present. I suppose it's possible that she served in the military, like my mom did, but I don't think that she did. It's something maybe we could Google.
@@joemartin1448also all former first ladies are entitled to military pallbearers from each branch of the service if they wish Betty Ford had them and Rosalynn Carter. Oddly enough Jackie Kennedy did not. She must have not wished for any

Such a remarkable family and husband. Rest in eternal peace, Mrs. Kennedy. Sorry your son will never aspire to his father's legacy. He is an embarrassment to our country.
I could not follow this, was her casket above the grave? Why did everyone leave the casket and kneel off the stone facing the wooden cross outside of the stone semi circle ?
Her grave is to the right of her late husband, RFK. That’s what the artificial grass is around. The family left the coffin to also pay respect to their father, Senator Robert F Kennedy and then moved on to the graves of President and Mrs J. Kennedy. Ethel will be placed in her grave after everyone leaves. The last of a great generation.
No, her grave is the spot covered with the green cloth next to the white cross. The cross marks Robert Kennedy's grave, and Ethel is now laying beside him. They only put the casket on the pavement for the service. Afterward it was moved to the grave next to Robert. The reason they knelt by the stone was because they were praying for Robert, too.

Why was an armed service honor guard and pallbearers conducting this service? Wives are generally not accorded this!
