Lamar Jackson is the J Cole of NFL quarterbacks. He’s one of the best. He can do it all. He’s as good if not better than your favorite. He’s also severely under appreciated and hated on, even for reasons others get praised for on occasion. *And he keeps getting better each year*
The issue I have is Josh Allen was even more raw as a prospect and passer but nobody even mentioned him playing tight end or wide receiver. His first two years were even shaky on whether he would make it and that question still wasn’t posed.
I've never REALLY sat and considered how disrespectful it was to him and to WRs to ask him to change his position. That's probably the most disrespectful thing I can ever remember for a top College player coming into the league.
One of my favorite QB draft classes ever. I remember all the drama surrounding it. It feels so weird watching old clips of analysts talking about Lamar playing WR with a straight face. It almost feels like it should be AI. Lamar Jackson?? Wide receiver??? Feels so odd
You could argue that Lamar and Allen were the biggest contributing factors leading to teams scouting for athletic traits in QB's more often. Yes you had some successful guys like RG3, Michael Vick, and others, but these two were the catalyst for a league wide shift in scouting.
One big takeaway from the draft class for me; was Lamar was the only quarterback in the draft who played in a pro-style offense in college. His passing numbers and rushing were off the charts. I never understood the push to make him switch positions. Just shows the lack of ability among scouts to see how to use his potential.
Commanders fan and we could of got him but we would of messed him up 😂 we sucked and had bad management then anyway, and they dont talk that switch to a WR mess anymore, disrespectful
The biggest weapon Lamar Jackson has is that he works and he works hard. He's always conditioning and working on his craft now his throwing is at the level of his leg or close to it. I guess NFL scouts don't care about work ethic, and decided to brand Lamar Jackson as something he's not.
We’re truly watching a generational talent. But people been hating on him for so long, that they rather die on the hill instead of just appreciating what we’re witnessing.
The Ravens used their first round pick on a TE named Hayden Hurst, who couldn't win playing time over their third round pick, Mark Andrews, and has played for multiple teams. They traded back into the first to pick Jackson with the Eagles first round pick.

And even though your response is probably the case, it's the way some teams tried so hard to express disinterest in him that gets me. They were damn near like, "Lamar Jackson? Why on Earth would we be interested in him?" 🤣
I think it was collusion
Literally Lamar in a dome with the talent they drafted and had would've been elite. Instead they throw money at Kirk Cousins coming off an Achilles injury lololololol. They would never treat a FA Josh Allen or Joe Burrow like that. A two time MVP under 27 and teams were like "We good"
@@bubblegum7-j7qSo then you drive the price up lol duh. Have a good old fashion bidding war and make sure you bleed them pockets. They would've never treated Josh Allen or Joe Burrow like that.
Lamar jackson is that create a player qb with 99 spd
Y’all know why 👋🏿🤟🏿👨🏿🦱
Right. Lets stop the BS.
@@fleckcadeau2382so why were QBs with worse stats less accolades and less success taken above him besides baker
@onewayzxy597 what are you saying? I agree with the comment. Im telling the media to stop BS. We know why Lamar was really overlooked.
Pick-a-ninny-poo-poo!!??
Jackson has 24 tds and 2ints
This is his best throwing season yet
Thanks captain
As a Ravens fan, my mind was blown when I realized that the viral high school football clip at 7:34 from 2014 was Lamar Jackson
Rich people complaining about people being rich is wild
@@makingstatements812 that clip was hilarious 😂
Lol fr. The Manning brothers were rich too but no one complained.
As someone who is from Kentucky who’s been a Louisville fan my entire life I knew this kid was gonna be special I thought he should’ve gone number 1 and I think he should have gone number 1 now. But I’m glad he didn’t because it makes his talent even more incredible
Lamar reminds me of Vick. Though not nearly as polarizing as Vick’s running, Lamar has more accuracy, can throw bombs, and still make plays with his running ability.
I'll never forget when my 80-year-old grandfather called me in 2017 and said " you have to put on the TV and watch this Lamar Jackson with Louisville. I never seen nothing like him and I hope the Ravens get him" Shame he only got to watch Lamar play a couple of games as a Raven 🐦⬛. The fact my grandfather was a better scout than the 31 other teams 😂
In Baltimore he was our #1 pick.
Damn the fact that lamar was meant to be a back up Qb!!? Is insane! I loved and forever respect what joe flacco has done for us Ravens fam! But we are safe with lamar!!! Thank lawwdd!!!! Thats my QB RIGHT THERE!!!💜🖤💯
I always say it: Ozzie Newsome has got to be one of the greatest GM ever. He was also instrumental in getting Ray Lewis, Ogden and probably a slew of other hof players for Baltimore
I don't know if any QB in NFL history has developed more over the course of their career the way Lamar has. He went from being an elite runner and good enough passer to one of the best passers if not the best
I look at Lamar like steph curry: what they did in college was so unbelievable it wasn't thought it could be repeated in the NBA/NFL although it was good enough for both to be decent 1st rd picks.
Much like steph if they'd known then....
Both guys would've been the no 1 overall pick in their respective drafts.
Lamar throw like qb but he runs like rb..
Lamar so good
He is an elite QB
Zone, how about throw like a qb & run like a rb???🤡💯
Thanks captain
Thx for summing it up so succinctly. Like a true, knowledgeable FOOTBALL FAN
Love the video man definetly earned a subscriber I'm not a ravens fan but Lamar makes football so fun it's hard not to root for him and his squad
Answer is bvious. Hatred, bigotry, racism. The country is saturated in it.
You know tom Brady was even ranked worse right? Not everything is about race bro.
In college, Tom Brady WASN'T Lamar Jackson.
@@plantironif Tom Brady had a Heisman & did what Lamar did he’d be drafted #1
Sounds like a CNN sound bite.
How is about race when there have been multiple mobile black qb’s. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t like the hate he got and have become a ravens fan due that hate. But I don’t think race is involved at all.
I am glad he did not go to Cleveland. He went to the right team that had a winning culture and believed in him.
So glad the Jets, Cardinals & Jaguars all passed up on him during the draft, those teams needed a player like Lamar Jackson to change the franchise around & they could've been winning a lot right now. Nobody wanted Lamar Jackson when Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, EDC gave other Owners & GMs a chance to come steal him, didn't want him, boom! Contract done.
Yup cant believe all 32 teams passed on him. Dude was INSANE at Louisville
I wouldn't have trusted just any organization to use Lamar Jackson properly. He was extremely fortunate to get drafted by the Ravens. I will never forget, cleaning up after a long draft night amd hearing the announcement that my Ravens traded back into the 1st round to grab Jackson... He was the greatest gift to Baltimore sports since Ray Lewis & Ed Reed retired.
@@MadKingLordeus what are you talking about, the Ravens have mismanaged Lamar and wasted his rookie contract, they finally just started getting him pieces around him in year 7...
Is my 2nd response not there for you, or is it just me? Does anybody know why I can type 1000 words and it just disappears?! It is happening a lot recently. No curses, nothing controversial. It's sports ffs.
@@Perilys I have responded to you twice now. I wrote this one and copy and pasted it just in case. RUclips won't show me it. Is it there for you?
I wanted the Browns to go Barkley at 1 and Lamar at 4 so bad.
That backfield would’ve been so freakin explosive
Josh Rosen being out the league since 2022 is crazy
Dude looks even worse after all his comments he made on draft night too😂
Thank god Lamar was not drafted before 32, most of the other franchises (like jets and browns) wouldn’t have developed him properly
I bet all the teams who weren’t interested now feel like the record companies who turned down The Beatles.
he will go down a goat ,
🐐🐐🐐🐐
Slow down guy🤣 maybe he should make it to a super bowl or win one. Can't stand people who call the the goat or future goat when the guy's done nothing. Hasn't been great in the playoffs but he'll be the goat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡
@@atg1338peyton manning had a worse playoff record in less time than lamar 🤡🤡🤡 he’s gonna get a bowl. and dan marino is considered one of the best without a super bowl at all. casuals like you who don’t actually watch the sport and just watch stat sheets don’t deserve to be able to have your opinion aired on the internet

Lamar Jackson is the J Cole of NFL quarterbacks. He’s one of the best. He can do it all. He’s as good if not better than your favorite. He’s also severely under appreciated and hated on, even for reasons others get praised for on occasion. *And he keeps getting better each year*
I fw that
Thanks for the tape. Really focuses his skillset...and shows how the team has sucess off of it.
I told everyone back in 2018 that he was the best QB in that class & everyone laughed at me, not bad for a RB tho
Did he really call him Tim Tebow 2.0 😂😂😂
Cowherd a CLOWN😂
Funny thing is that he actually loves Lamar now 😂😂
That's what he says now to sound smart. He's dumb @swaggod1017
He changed the way QBs are drafted nowadays
Lamar PROVED to be HIM!!!
NFL - Your NOT a QuarterBack!!
Lamar -"Hold my Beer"
You could argue that Lamar and Allen were the biggest contributing factors leading to teams scouting for athletic traits in QB's more often. Yes you had some successful guys like RG3, Michael Vick, and others, but these two were the catalyst for a league wide shift in scouting.
Seeing Mel Kiper saying Lamar needs to buy into becoming a WR made me sick to my stomach
12:32 “and josh rosen” bro didn’t even get a title 😂
😂😂😂😂
Calling Lamar Jackson "Tebow 2.0" is disrespectful af.
Nothing like making white men look stupid.
Feels like a handjob with silk gloves on. 😂😂
Lamar got AR drafted at 4 and will probably get Milroe in the 1st Round 🐐.
I believe Josh Allen is the one who got him drafted...
@@greysakunah if anything cam newton got Josh Allen drafted
AR drafted at the 4 makes you see what can happen if a qb is not drafted to the right situation
@@nenola504Josh is a massive QB with the biggest arm in the NFL, that will always get you drafted cam Newton didn’t effect that.
One big takeaway from the draft class for me; was Lamar was the only quarterback in the draft who played in a pro-style offense in college. His passing numbers and rushing were off the charts. I never understood the push to make him switch positions. Just shows the lack of ability among scouts to see how to use his potential.
Not taking Lamar 1 was the worst mistake ever
This video was beautiful loved it great work 👍🏾
Seldom do you see a player put up numbers that are similar to their college stats but here we are lol
Imagine running a 4:3 at the combine. Would’ve went crazy
He did the right thing not running at combine. It doesn’t matter for his position
So glad he ended up in Baltimore, bro. I’m a commanders and ravens fan so it’s great to have two QBs to root for
Funny how the guy who the “most pro ready” was the biggest bust
Be white, be a pocket passer " most pro ready" lol
Hands down a future hall of famer
He now plays EXACTLY like he did in college. EVERYBODY really knows why he went 32nd! Django Unchained!!!!!
Commanders fan and we could of got him but we would of messed him up 😂 we sucked and had bad management then anyway, and they dont talk that switch to a WR mess anymore, disrespectful
Whatever scout said Lamar Jackson had “questionable footwork” for a Qb at 8:38 needed to never talk about football again from that point on🤦♂️
Oh boy were the majority of the so called media NFL experts wrong about this Qb recruiting class.
The biggest weapon Lamar Jackson has is that he works and he works hard. He's always conditioning and working on his craft now his throwing is at the level of his leg or close to it. I guess NFL scouts don't care about work ethic, and decided to brand Lamar Jackson as something he's not.
Lamar jackson should won 2 Heisman they gave it to Baker Mayfield but Lamar was better
If I was starting a team and I couldn't pick Mahomes, I would choose Lamar Jackson. He is a Hall of Fame quarterback.
Afaik one of the few analysts that had him high before the draft was Chris Simms.
I'd take Lamar over Allen. All day and twice on Sunday. Not even close imo
Great video, keep up the good work and keep going with the great editing skills and you'll make it far far!
Great video
Great comment
That line of thinking is buried now !! Watch jalen milroe get drafted as poeple are thinking lamar
You can’t take a running back that high in the modern day
You so underrated, one of the best channels I’ve found
We’re truly watching a generational talent.
Remember when people thought Josh Rosen was better than Lamar 😭😭😭😭😭
Back then he was the wrong color.
Calling a 6'2" 216lb man "slim framed" is ostentatiously egregious
Are you NOT going to address the elephant in the room?
Racism !!!
PERCEPTION has always been Everything for a lotta people. We all should give that one person the OPPORTUNITY as well. Lamar is HIM. So glad he’s a Raven Quarterback. 👌🏾👍🏾
Did you forget that Lamar said he couldn’t play receiver because the one thing he can’t do in football is catch?
Because YT people want to see themselves as the Quarterback. This sales Tickets😂
Lamar was throwing the ball like crazy while at Louisville but his "tan" blinded people. All they saw was a runner. Same ol' NFL playbook when it comes to QB's. Allen's resume and college was not as impressive as Jackson's and plus Allen had controversy in his past that was conveniently left out of this video.👀
Lamar is the man and QB he is, because of his mother. She is not only his mother but is his manager, mentor and career advisor. His story can never be told completely without mentioning her.
Racism the end of
The shade that went Lamar's way pre-draft was absolutely insane and definitely racially tinged. Glad he has proven the haters to be wrong--and then some.
Gained a new sub. Yu did that Brodie 💯
nothing nefarious in lamar’s pick. he was a running qb, and it blinded teams to his passing ability.
