    I mounted the first of 2 rearview cameras to the rear mount of our new RV. Used the Rohent system availble on Amazon. About $220 for the Camera mounts, 7" monitor, 2 cameras and wiring. The RV mount was easy to remove. Cut the wiring coming out of the RV and connected the hot(red) wire and black(ground) wires together. Camera mount was pretty close to the holes in the RV, so no major drilling. Used butt connectors and tape for a secure connection. Stuffed wiring down into RV cavity, added a little silicone caulk around rim of mount, screwed mount to RV and added a fair amount of caulk into the small hole to prevent water infiltration. The second camera I mounted to the rear bumper of my truck(where the monitor is). I didn't want to drill any holes, so I purchase 4 neodymium, rare earth magnets from Amazon for about $12. The magnets came mounted in small cases that had two predrilled holes. I mounted two of the magnets to the other camrea mount using small screws. Using a 48" trailer wiring harness that I cut off the half that I din't need, I connected the camera to the trailer wiring and hooked it into the 4 pin trailer connector on my truck. The camera mount stuck to the bumper like glue. I cannot actually pull it off. I can slide it off if needed, but these magnets have a pulling power of over 50 lbs. each. Adjusted the camera angle. With truck lights on, the rearview image is spectacular. HD 1080p. Invaluable for backing up, whether using camera on RV or camera on Truck.

    Love the videos. Just a note, backup/observation cameras like the Furrion will not work on the newer Chevy Silverado pickups because the 12 VDC being supplied by the truck is not straight from the battery but instead developed using pulse width modulation (PWM) which effectively shuts off the camera hundred of times a minute so it will never pair. This is a known problem and Furrion is said to be working on an adapter that fixes this "feature" found on Chevy Silverado's. Yeah I know, should have bought a (insert brand name here).

    Is there a way to tighten the camera in one place once ya get it where you want it so it doesnt bounce out of adjustment? And what size is the camera screen in the tow vehicle? What say you about the types of cameras that have left and right side view? Are they too much clutter? I ask because I've never RV'd and I'm a safety forward person for sure. Anything that can help remove blind spots I'm all for, but I definitely dont want fluttery confession getting in my way that can mess with my driving.
    BTW- I'm having a hard time deciding the RV to purchase.

    • @therealjr9175

      I have not had someone tell me about the falling out of adjustment while driving its pretty firm lock. The screen we are using is a 4.3" but if you are going to side cameras I would say go to the bigger 7"
      Side cameras have worked great with units that I have seen them on

    Just installed a Furion camera in a 2021 22MLS that was not prewired for Furion. Camera paired fine in the vehicle but no signal when mount. Lights are on - marker lights are on but no power to camera or signal I believ i may have made the wrong choice when guessing where the red and black wires were to be tied in. I pit the red on the white pair and the black on the green and white pair. Is that reversed in polarity? Might I suggest a explanation of which is positive and which is negative somewhere in your manuals.

    Hi there! I have this camera on my 2021 keystone hideout. It always draws power and kills my battery when in storage. What should I do? I knew going out to a dead battery .

    • @KeystoneRVCenter
      @KeystoneRVCenter  3 года назад

      I do not know how Keystone wires the unit but Forest River and Jayco products wire off the clearance light so unless the truck and trailer are hooked up AND the clearance light is on the unit does not get any power.
      With that being said any RV will go dead in storage after about 3-5 days typically from everything that is wired to the battery drawing constant power like the radio for the clock memory and LP detector by RVIA code just to name a few. The best thing you can do is manually disconnect the battery when the unit is in storage. I have this on the list to do a video on.

    Installed same system you demonstrated. Paired camera inside truck. Camera worked fine inside truck. Installed camera rear of trailer. Checked to make sure running lights were on. Result no image and power light on camera not lit. Looks like no power to camera from rear plug. TT is a 2021 Coleman Light 2515RL. Furrion #FRCBRKT-BL came installed on trailer. Running lights operating. No power to camera makes me think problem in the trailer. Wire crossed to rear plug ? Not connected inside to running lights? Rear plug wire runs to fuse box and fuse is missing at blown? Anything else you could mention?
    Thanks

      I would check the power wire for 12 volt. If it did not have it I would take it in for warranty. See what they missed. It should still be under warranty

      Are the clearance lights on? Have to have power to the lights. The camera uses a jumper off that. So when its plugged into the truck turn the headlight switch to the full on position. NOT AUTO. Look back and be sure the clearance lights are on the trailer. If they are it may be an LED issue but lets start with that part. You can message me directly on our instagram page Keystone RV Center

      On a serious note…mine is a 2016 26’ StarCraft ar-one max and it was not presided for a camera. My plan is to just splice into the middle running light with my furrion rear cam. Would it be safe to say there is a beam under that light to mount this camera to. I can’t find a video on RUclips where someone has mounted a cam that wasn’t prewired. Thanks and keep rockin the cape!!!
