  • This time I had to organize a wood shed for the first time in my life. And start a fire. Two crucial things that are going to be important for this cold winter in northern Sweden.
And well, I had to do some other things, too... :)
    Enjoy!

My grandmother worked in the kitchen in "Borgen" in the 1970's at 18 minutes into the video. And I have films of me as an infant on that "beach". I have not lived there but I visited many times. But it was a looong time ago.

Wow, what a coincidence! :) It´s a nice beach, haha.

You should keep the cobwebs as they make good medicine on cuts etc. I am not joking, look it up on Google. My first time on your channel and I subscribed. You made me laugh a few times. All will be well I am sure. Enjoy your little corner of paradise!

Oh really? Interesting - it seems like the worst hygienic practice but I´ll remember for next time. :) Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your late fall in which ever paradise you are!

Kroppkakor tastes like boiled meat with a lot of allspice (?), I ate those in that package once, didn't like it much :).
The liver pâté can either be really horrific or surprisingly good, if I were to buy it I would get it from the "charcuterie" section in bigger stores (where they cut the meat for you).
Cute lumberjack outfit you got! 😂
I guess one of the levers is for the amount of air coming in, most stoves I've seen have it at the pipe above. You shouldn't need any "fire starters", just a mashed up newspaper should get the smaller pieces going and eventually the big chunks. Now you can make sausages on a stick! Indoor BBQ :)

I actually quite liked them - with enough veg on the side (but I like all dumplings in general) :)
      Haha, thanks!
And yeah, the stove is a bit "funny" - sometimes a bit hard to keep going and regulate and so on. My husband said the same thing about fire starters but after 2 weeks here he likes to use them, and we just don´t have enough paper. :D

Kroppkakor, you heat them in hot or boiling water, the package should know. You pour melted butter on them and eat with lingonberry jam and maybe thinly sliced pickled cucumber. Dellicious! I prefer the Öland version rather than the Småland version though, but Öland is a part of Småland. 🙂 The melted butter is very important as you're essentially eating wallpaper glue and it's the butter that prevents them from getting stuck in your gums.
And Swedish forest ants, the ones with a red midbody and black head and tail, they are pretty big and their bite isn't anything to write home about but it still hurts a bit. You''ll see their big anthills everywhere in the forests. Be warned though, if you see an ant that looks like a forest ant but is much bigger, and has a midbody that is a little bit more slender and deeper red, that can be bad news. They sometimes build their nests in peoples houses, and eat the wood in the walls. Big trouble!
Oh, and shifting is pretty easy. Just shift to the next gear when it gets too loud for you. You'll also notice that the engine feels less powerful if you rev too high or too low. It quickly becomes second nature. If you're lucky the car has an engine RPM counter on the dashboard it gets even easier.
One more thing you might already know. The Google maps app lets you point the camera at any text and will auto-translate. 🙂

Oh, I didn't eat it with butter yet! Well - next time! :) They're quite good though!
Interesting about the ants - I once had one in my jeans (next vid) and tried smushing it many times - unkillable. Had to get my jeans off when I reached the car and it was very much alive - it never bit me! So I thought they just don't bite?
I forgot which ant I saw in the house, but I never saw a second one at least - thankfully! Sounds real bad!
Yeah, regular shifting is fine, I got the feeling for her by now when to do so, just starting this one can be tricky. My husband stalled it a few times already too and he's a naturally good driver! :D
Google Maps can do that? I use the Google Translate App - but same idea. So helpful! But sometimes the translations are wild! :D

@@lisasomewhere88 Oops, I accidentally wrote Maps, of course I meant translate!😅
And yup, starting can be a bit tricky, you always need to learn the cutch of your car. Ease it up very slowly a few times and you'll learnwhere it bites and how much throttle you need to avoid stalling.

@@rasmuswi Haha, okay that makes more sense now. :) And yes - I am still learning... I know the theory, but still don´t really have the feeling for it yet. :D

Did you eventually get a poking stick so you can reach in with it to adjust the wood??
I am very much enjoying your videos!

The "sticks" were already there actually. But I bought giant BBQ gloves. :D Silly but feels so much safer, haha. Aww and thanks so much!!
