  • This is my first time working with a Hamskea Rest and it is very robust. I'm learning how to set-up my own bow which has been an ongoing process. I bring you along as I learn the ropes, hope you learn something too. I am being coached by Spokane Valley Archery owner Josh Jones.

Although I am now just picking this up... Couple things; Josh tightens that bolt into the burger hole WAY tooooooo hard... It should be snug, no movement only! the set screw should be sung, but much less snug. It is just there to help prevent rotation of the rest and that's all. For those of you that don't know, yes, it is 13/16 on center of arrow to bow frame. Lastly, the second spring that comes with it, IS NOT a replacement for the spring on the cable. It is a reverse spring that goes inside so you can change the way the rest operates. It the video, the rest is always up and is forced down by the cable. The rest therefore will rise when the cable shortens by drawing the bow back and the limbs move to center. the extra spring that comes with it, goes internally and will do the opposite (rest normally down) if you want to make the rest a cable driven rest rather than a limb driven rest. Also, the knot that he used at the limb was a double half hitch if you want to look it up.

Can’t believe how many BowTech’s are out there that know nothing about setting up a bow properly.
I drive four hours into PA for the best bow tech I’ve ever met.
      Paper tunes
      Walk back tunes
      Broad tunes.
He tunes for a lot of the pros.
In my opinion there is not a good bow tech in 200 miles from me.
Believe me. I’ve tried them all

Try a rubber band for holding the level on the arrow. That will eliminate any incidental hand pressure and also keep the level in place while making your adjustments to the arrow rest.

Great videos! Recent update for all VXR and V3 owners from Hamskea is that they do not suggest attaching the string at the cam now. They found that these two bows have such big limb movements it was causing inaccuracy. Instead attach two inches from the limb end where it tapers for best performance and limited sound. Hope this helps everyone else with their builds.

Recently purchased Hamskea Hybrid Hunter Pro and really like it. I am however having issues with my fletchings hitting the arrow launcher and can’t figure out how to fix that. Have taken to my local archery shop for initial install, then again to fix the issue once I noticed marks on bot fletchings and launcher and he wasn’t able to correct. Any advise would be great, thanks.

I shoot a Hoyt torrex and also have the Hamskea Trinity for my rest.. I followed this video to a T and went to paper tune an ended up with my nock sitting about 1/8 below level when at rest with the launcher arm up.. still can't figure out why.. I have checked the timing multiple times and still sits nock low.. I even tried bare shaft paper tune and with arrow level at zero I still got a 2in nock high tare.. after adustment to almost perfect bullet hole at 10 yards, now with my sight as high as possible, at 20 yards the impact point is about 3in higher than the aim point..
