Great job, working with a junior rider. I let them ride in front and follow so when they stop and wait, I am riding and they are not over tired when we stop for breaks. Yes my ride is slow and requires me to watch a bunch of mistakes that I don't bring up to them. But they are not contiously riding while I am taking breaks.

Good point and something to keep in mind for future rides. Thank you!

I used to live there. Miss those trails. I wish I had my 890 adventure R back then. Tell the Tucson Dirt Riders I said hello.

Perfect bike for that loop! Thomas just moved to Durango so that’s a bummer!

The fuel venting thing really needs a solution. Surely there must be a way.

I’m trying different venting configurations and different vent caps to see if it’ll help. It might be my tune that is running hot. Maybe a bit lean??

Man, do you have a summary of all the mods that you made that you enjoyed? I'm considering getting this bike

I’ve made quite a few videos on the mods I’ve done on this bike. Look back at some of my content!

When you say you did all the mods for fuel, did you apply any heat barrier to the RH tank to reject the heat from the header? I have some adhesive backed DEI aluminized firewall heat barrier cloth that will be applying to RH side tank near header area to help reject heat from the area.
I can't imagine being short and riding a tall bike in tougher technical terrain... much more difficult when slow and need to support with feet keep it from going down. Must be similar to when I was trying to turn around (because agitated ahead cattle on trail) on soft section where was on edge of trail about 6" higher than normal for my foot to reach... all I could do to keep from dumping the Kove with barely any support from just tip of toe and no stable surface to use and trying to keep away from all the prickly desert plants just off the trail...6'2" with 32" inseam. I really need to learn to pivot turn... that would be a helpful skill to have when you can't really go off trail but need to do a 180...

I did our heat reflection tape between the header and tank. It doesn’t seem to matter what is done, the bike will push fuel if going slow on hot days. This is without the tanks full. I’m working on trying different venting caps and configurations to see it’ll help. My tune might be a little lean too, causing a hot running issue.
