Thank you for using your horn on the track. It seems like motocross riders never use their horns when passing on the track, and it's very dangerous. It's hard to tell from the video, but I hope you are using your turn signals also. It's the proper safety protocol when cornering.
Mine was just a slip on and stock ecu. A friend of mine has the same bike with the ecu and it was such a minor difference I didn’t see the need for one on mine
I just traded my quad for the exc hence the reason for watching this lol so far I love it..it is super smooth but simultaneously wants to kill you..great bike thanks for quality content
It's crazy to me that 104kg is heavy compared to a motocross bike coming from someone who's lightest bike has been 180kg. The next lightest production supermoto is the SMC 690 at 145kg.
I run a 2006 450 EXC (RFS engine) bone stock in super vets (I'm 71) and my 2016 450MX is relegated to a practice bike, on small local tracks the EXC is just easier and faster to ride, the smooth power delivery just does it. Top 5 or 10 placing and if I lost maybe 20kg , got fit and had a few bodily repairs could probably get near the front.
Nice vid, i gotta 2006 525exc rfs motor Not as good as my 05 crf450r, but close The 525 is a torque monster and rideable even when tired, the 05 honda 450r was a ARM RIPPING machine. I agree get the katoom for all around bike. 53 years young, so my body can't take motorcross anymore.
Hey, great riding man. I’m a new owner of a 23’ KTM 350 EXCF (coming off a 2020 YZ 125 but can only bring one bike with me on travels) Bought it as I wanted a street legal bike that I can bring with me traveling that can do multi levels of riding - Motocross, trails, single track, street etc… I haven’t had a chance to test bike out on tracks yet but it seems good while doing circle drills. Do you find the PDS suspension holds you back on tracks? What tires and mods work best for track but still DOT approved? Do you still love the bike?
I loved it the whole time I owned it. Only sold because I know better than to have a street legal bike now that my wife and I have a daughter. Wasn’t worth the risk of having to trust others on the road for me so I just sold it. As far as the suspension, I loved it almost everywhere except the track and most because I run stiffer suspension even on full Mx bikes. It actually handled everything besides over jumping really well though. I ran Hoosier Mx tires on mine even on the highway because I was too lazy to change them like I needed to. Sorry I can’t give good recommendations there
awesome video. i have the same bike but EU version. are those the axiis ea passenger pegs I see? What are your thoughts on them? If they arent then what brand is that? I've been looking for some that aren't just the hook in your footpegs.
I'm honestly not sure what brand these are sorry. my wife ordered them the day I bought it. I can tell you to keep a check on the bolts constantly on them because one of the pegs have vibrated off on mine. My wife wasn't very comfortable on them so it didn't matter too much anyway
Thanks for this vid, I almost picked up a '23 today, but apparently they have a "tire recall"? Anyway, Is this fully stock, meaning stock pipe and ECU/Tune? If not, what is it? I come from a KX500 and XR650R.. yep, I have both. So, concerned about low torque. What's your opinion?
mine is almost stock minus a fmf slip on. as far as low torque, it needs to be tuned and an exhaust to do what it really can. the tire recall is a joke btw I mean they're tires. I took my stock ones off and went to hoosier tires.
@@trashhousecycles I’ve left it stock so far. If I keep it, I’ll put in a set of progressive front fork springs. I take it to a place out here in Pueblo, Co called PMI ant take it places I take my wr426f. It jumps, but hates the landings... look the place up, you’d love the ride out here. A couple other youtubers ride here as well. I just jump and crash here.
I could definitely see it hating landings😂. I’ve ridden the Duke 1290 but never the adventure version like yours. I’m not making enough on RUclips to justify making a trip out to Colorado just yet but it’s definitely in the plans! I’ll hit you up when the time comes
Did the Honda accelerate faster, or was it just louder when it did? Thanks for posting this btw! I don’t think I’ve seen another “KTM 500 EXC-F on a motorcross track” video yet, and RUclips is recommending everything KTM 500 to me.
Would you say this bike is actually viable for someone who doesn’t plan on racing or pushing the bike seriously and just wants to take a few laps at his local track ?
Absolutely. If you want a bike you can take to trails, tracks, or ride to work and back this is the absolute best bike you can own. Or if you want a little less power the 350exc-f is also a great option
Thanks for this video I want one of these bikes and the only content is ecu videos in a garage or European videos and the guys talking sound like they got peanut butter in they mouth lol
Haha yeah I had that same issue. I knew I’d probably like it with dirt tires so I just bought one and tried it. Hands down best all around bike I’ve ever owned
Very much doubt that. His CRF is a full on Motocross bike which is a full on performance bike where as the exc is a more tuned down bike. Similar power maybe but I very much doubt more power. I have a 450 exc and a 525 exc so no hate on the brand :D but the full on Motocross bikes require a lot more maintenance... Top end rebuilds A LOT more often than the likes of an exc. Easily 200 hours plus on same top end on rfs KTM exc
Scrap that... Eat my words 😂 just checked RUclips and the 500s are running in the 60hp range and the crf's in the 50s. Don't know if top ends are more frequent on the 500 exc's... But going on the Motocross bikes I've had they lose power quick and need new top ends where as compared to my exc's they can easily go 250 hours plus... Not sure if the 500 exc is like that 🤷🏻♂️
Great job !! There's a guy here on RUclips that has changed the forks and shock on his FE501 and he races it at outdoor tracks and even Arenacross and he smokes everybody ! He did a night time outdoor track that was flood lit and he won buy a mile while using his headlight and horn.. lol He's a great rider much like yourself. It's worth the watch. I'll see if l can find it for you.. Great video ! ruclips.net/video/pcnE9VVAB1w/видео.html

Yeah man the one time I didn't use my horn while jumping was down at Florida Tracks and Trails I ended up landing on a guy. Gotta do my part now!

that was the goal, thanks!
I would think if they use them for Desert racing and going 150 160 KPH while doing it it will be just fine on a motorcross track.
Freaking Awesome Riding on that bike!! Made me smile!!
