I can see only a piece of rubber stem. Can you tell me whether this non return valve is replaceable in full or its body has glued inside, please?

      Yes yours wll have perished and will be in the bubble ring inside. I've gone for a more robust fix here: ruclips.net/video/ZmRbK4K0ctA/видео.html
      But you can buy replacements. You just have to feed it through the hole and pull the nipple back through. See pattern part here:
      www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lay-Z-Spa-inflatable-liner-non-return-valve-gasket-seal-for-hot-tub-repair/274448742319?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225114%26meid%3D38ed93fef04f416fb39cf106f6238d9b%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D172344240985%26itm%3D274448742319%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithBBEV1FilterHighArw%26brand%3DLay-Z-Spa&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
      But I've not tries one of these as I think it's a poor design, hence went for a proffessional grade one way valve. Mine works perfectly now. See video for how I did it.
      Hope that helps.

    would this valve leaking cause water to flow back into the pump? I have a leak and have tried sealing the pump and replacing the o-rings, but still have a leak. I have noticed water coming out of the airflow tube...dont think I noticed that before.

    • @SimonPass230267
      @SimonPass230267  4 года назад

      Yes, this is what happens and why you need to replace the 'a'valve, water is pushing past from the spa and leaking out from the bottom of the pump. The flat none return valve is a cheap design, hence why I'm working on a better solution using a proper check valve.

      The pumps are not high quality. It may simply be the impeller expanding and catching in the pump walls. it's perhaps the difference in materials and how they expand. Or the magnet may be pushed out if there is corrosion on the metal bits which expands the diameter. Try a new impeller

    Hola Simon Pass, I am new to the "Lay Z spa", please could you give me any ideas to what is wrong with my "Miami" Egg? everything works ok, the electric plug seems to get very hot and after 1 hour of running (heat set to 25 celcius) the plugs fuse blows (13amp), its intermittent and does not always occur, the second and more annoying problem is the bubbles/massage function, when you switch this on - everything works great but only works for 2 minutes and never any longer, there is a "tick" noise when you return to press the function button and no air or the air blower does nothing at all, you have to unplug and leave for 1 hour before you get another 2 minutes of air again, there are no error codes for either issue given by the egg! :( and my spa is out of warranty, do you think that there is a heat thermostat that is faulty on the air blower pump? and maybe there could be some of the build up of calcium in the heater causing it to work harder than it should? - I have no leaks, no water inside pump. thank you for reading.

    • @SimonPass230267
      @SimonPass230267  4 года назад

      If the egg is overheating it sounds like the heating element is getting too hot. See the link to my other video. Pull out the heating element and see how much calcification there is. Cleaning this out will help it draw less current.

    • @SimonPass230267
      @SimonPass230267  4 года назад

      The blower on will add extra demand on current and will also cause a fuse to blow, but it sounds to me it's the heating element which needs fixing/cleaning or just replacing.

    • @th3n3tw0rk6
      @th3n3tw0rk6 4 года назад

      @@SimonPass230267 Hey, thanks for replying to my questions! :) the "hot" plug is all fixed, on the "bestway" products forum I found an article on the same subject, the cause is the electrical draw vs an aged and lightly corroded factory spec moulded on plug! apparently most people keep the egg in sheds and outdoor units which over time puts a light corrosion on the 3 pin plugs pins and fuse clasps, this interrupts a good flow of electricity and due to a high draw (some guy says around 16 amps in a 13amp plug?) you get heat, a ton of heat! so I cut off the factory one, installed a hard shelled heavy duty 13amp plug, new fuse and bingo! runs for hours on end without even getting warm (in water heating mode), still have the blower cut off after 2 minutes of usage though? checked filter and is clean as a whistle! now looking into thermostats and thermal reset switch as the possible cause.

      @@SimonPass230267Hi, heating element is clean and intact, no limescale either! :O and the heater and its pump work perfectly! just the dang blower? It works which is most annoying, then cuts out after 2 minutes, the egg stays on and so does the blower function led light, no errors, no fuses blown, I have to wait until I hear a "tick" noise from inside the egg then press the massage bubble button to get it going again (for 2 minutes). weird and crazy but I must find a fix!
