- here is the first short in my learn to skate series!! Today I'll teach you how to figure skate if its your first time or if you're going out skating with your friends and need to know how to stay standing lol. leave any other ideas for new things i can teach you :)

So I bought a pair of figure skates after only being used to rental skates, and now I'm not used to them, since rental skates are like ice hockey skates, and the figure skates have toe picks, so now I'm struggling to skate with them

No bc I’m a beginner like today was one of my first times skating (apart from going at Christmas markets very rarely) and I was doing really well and I was trying to teach my self to spin and I was rlly good for a beginner but right at the end I fell and now have like a massive bruise from my hip to my knee 😭

I don't know if any figure skater or hockey player will see this, but my mom told me I'm too old to learn how to skate and become a hockey player or figure skater. I'm 13 years old and I love both of these, so, is it right what she said? Is it not possible for me to skate like a figure skater or play hockey, because I'm already too old?

Bonus tip: if you fall on your belly tuck in your hands so that no one skates on your hands or fingers =]❤

Just so you know…if you don’t wear high socks and tie the skates tight you might get a bruise 😅
Or a better way I’m not telling that it’s better but a safer way in putting your hands on your knees so your hands won’t get sliced on the ice by other skater so put your hands on your knees and push to get back up hope it helps
when getting up, put your hands in a fist formation so nothing bad happens to your fingers.

I recommend starting in a V shape after getting the hang of marching. Then try to start pushing off your edges while marching in the V
I just started, if you're a first time skater at all bend your knees to keep balance
Don’t overdo tight as much as you can :D. It is definitely possible to do it too tight and you can realize that by the slow pain and pressure of not getting enough blood in your feets :D

any tips to become flexible again? I used to be flexible and could bring my leg up to my head at the side and behind. I can still bring my leg up a decent amount but not as good as I would like. do you have a routine I can do daily to gain my flexibility back? thankssss 💕💕

thank you so much for the explanation on how to get up 😭 I'm transitioning from inline skates to inline skates meant for figure skaters (I'm still early in my skating journey and I want to do artistic skating on wheels eventually) but the thing is... I've been ice skating once in my life and it was before I learned how to skate. I'm constantly falling forward on the rocker and it's making it hard to even stand up at all. I have to try this next time
I'm going ice skating for the first time this week ( in a few days...). In so nervous and am watching as many videos as can. 😭
Make sure fit is right. If your feet are cramping, try sizing up. Wide feet people especially, poorly fitted shoes make the small muscles in your feet over compensate. If you feel too unstable, try sizing down. Those with narrow feet, or those with wide feet that have sized up, wear very thick socks to fill in the spaces
