Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed it, and agreed 😁 We have one Celebrity cruise next year, Eclipse out of Boston and then the new Xcel out of Florida in 2025, and equally excited for both. Linzi & Mark
So pleased you enjoy it E H, and thank you for entertaining us in the Choir, you were all amazing, we sat/stood there, with drink in hand (obviously) and really enjoyed it. Wish we were not both tone deaf so we could join in too but fear we would have cleared the martini bar very quickly if we had. Have a lovely day Linzi & Mark
Thank you Alan 😂 and half the Martini drinks menu was just in that bar. We had drinks elsewhere too. Somebody was not well the following morning! Linzi and Mark
Thank you Brigitte. You would both love Celebrity. Service wise it's Cunard like but more modern and the food is much better too. Next up is Sun Princess in the med. So excited for that one. Linzi and Mark
Thanks for the video! I was there in the choir! Too bad we don’t hear us. 😌 That was a great activity. By the way we loved the infinite veranda. We left it a bit open at night before going to bed. It was so nice to have fresh air (no air conditioning) and to hear the ocean all night was brilliant. My throat was clear in the morning and felt really good. For sure not something I would do in the Caribbean (too hot) but on a transatlantic it was fantastic! There was only one night (rough seas) that the Captain didn’t allowed us and closed it remotely.
Thank you so much Chantal, so glad you enjoyed it. The choir were fantastic, one of the best we've heard on a cruise. We have our Apex entertainment review out this Sunday (the last of our Celebrity Apex videos) so keep an ear and eye out for yourself then :) Really interesting to hear your experience with the Infinite Veranda, we are sure we will try one eventually :) Interesting that they just closed it on the one night, as we suspect that was the only night we closed our balcony door too as it was so windy and loud. Have a lovely day, Linzi & Mark
Just found your videos of the November 2023 Apex T/A. We too were on that sailing and will be again in October out of Southampton. Thanks for bringing back so many fun memories and for the fun commentary. One thing you didn’t mention was that we ran out of martini olives after day four 😂
Thank you Andrew, and so happy we could bring back the fun memories again. Have a fantastic time on her in October, we did look at that ourselves too at one point.
Lovely review. What a nice couple. I have just started looking at Celebrity after having booked a p&o cruise and I actually found it comparable to P&O prices for a solo traveller, and it looks far more luxurious on celebrity. Did your porthole have a balcony? It seemed to, and I wanted to check. Many thanks
Thank you Denise. Yes the Porthole does have a balcony :) and we loved it. It was so quiet and peaceful as they are down at the Eden end of the ship which means they are so quiet. We've also a full review and tour of the cabin on the channel if you are interested Have a lovely day Linzi and Mark
Hi Linz and Markey, love your videos always make me smile. Watched all of them now I think for the Celebrity Apex as we are joining in Southampton on 8th June for Norwegian Fjords, so very excited and your reviews have been super helpful. I've already upgraded to the premier drinks package based on seeing your cocktails. One question Linz did you take your own hairdryer I know there is one in the bathroom but it looks pretty small and I like my Dyson so hoping I can take it with me, especially as I can take as much as I want and I see there is a 220V socket? 🙂
Hi Carolyn, thank you so much, so glad they've helped with planning your Apex cruise, and it will be amazing in the Fjords, and not long to go now. We didn't take our hairdryer with us (Dyson too) but you are allowed to take it with you on Celebrity. Some cruise lines don't allow them, but Celebrity isn't one of them, so you are good to go, and yes there was one (maybe two) appropriate sockets, although you may need an adaptor, depending on what plug your dyson hsa on it. Have an amazing time in the Fjords, and let us know how you get on. Linzi & Mark
We are looking forward to our transatlantic May 2024 from Ft Lauderdale FL to Southampton UK then on to Norway. Celebrity is our favorite cruise line although it will be the first on the Apex. Our initial plan for 2 persons has now grown to 12.
You are going to have a great time on here return to the UK Pete, she is great ship, sure, some things are a bit pricey, but restaurants such as Eden are well worth splashing out for, but maybe just the two of you, rather than twelve! And 12 people, you've started your own group cruise😂 Have an amazing time, Linzi & Mark
Hi Linzie ,Mark , we love your Apex video , i have watched over 3 times aa we are on her in September ,We were looking at auges / september 2025 and looked at the port hole veranda , but only foubd them right at the front or right at the back , did you find any uppy downy , roly poly motions when you were in the cabin Keep up the great videos Les and Angela x
😮😮😮😮 🫣😂😂😂😂 I have just re-read my question to you guys , 😂😂😂we are so glad the Roly poly uppy downy was ok no pun was intended 😮that’s good to know especially on TA ❤
Great review! I just stumbled across your channel and I think it’s great-the commentary especially. Myself and a few of my family members are planning a cruise for next November and of the two itineraries we’re looking at, Celebrity Apex is sailing one of them. I know that demographics do 100% vary on different itineraries, but from your experience, was there a lively teen scene onboard? I’m recently 18, so having some other teens onboard would be a plus as it’s a 10 night cruise. Would appreciate your take!
Thank you Taeulen, glad you enjoy our video and commentary. On the teen side, on our recent Transatlantic, no, there were very few, but suspect that was time of year and itinerary. Celebrities average demographic is probably 45-65 on your average cruise, but those coming out of Southampton or Florida in the school/college holiday periods tend to have much more teens and early twenties. Royal Caribbean probably has slightly more older teens, than Celebrity from our experience though, as it has dedicated older teen areas, and even night clubs on some ships. Hope this helps. Linzi & Mark
Sailed 12 night 'Best of Scandinavia' on Apex last summer with my 24 yr old grandson, his second Celebrity cruise (his first was to Alaska in 2012 at 13 yrs old). He loves Celebrity, as did his younger brother when we took him to Alaska in 2014. The demographic appears to have trended younger over the years, or, the seniors on board maybe just seem younger. We met passengers from their late teens and early 20's, up to their 70's. I actually spoke to him earlier today about booking another Celebrity cruise - he's ready anytime! We were fortunate to have a sunset balcony, which we both took advantage of. He took a behind the scenes excursion onboard and learned so much about the Apex. We enjoyed the activities and entertainment onboard, and also all of our excursions off the ship. We went to the theater every night after dinner; from there we went to whatever was happening in The Club. We normally didn't head back to our cabin until midnight or so. We had fabulous dinners in Normandie (our favorite of the 4 main dining rooms, so we ate there every night). We enjoyed lunch one day in Eden, and also ate at the Mast Grill or the buffet breakfast or lunch in Oceanview. Food was great there, too, with a large variety of choices from many different countries. The activities, entertainment, food, and especially the crew members, were top notch on Apex - can't wait to sail with them again soon!
You are welcome Kelly, and she really is a fantastic ship. Not too big, certainly not compared to the biggest ones out there at 2600 passengers. On our cruise is was 100% full and it never seemed too busy at all.
looking at a porthole veranda room on Ascent for 2025. Advertised as restricted view, but doesnt say what the restriction is. Did yours say it was restricted view, and is it just that its a porthole? Great video by the way. Cant believe Apex doesnt have the World Class Bar.
We don't believe any of the portholes are obstructed there would be nothing to put in front of them 😂 assuming it is just a reference the solid metal front as opposed to glass? We were gutted about World Class Bar. Sure they will add it back in at some point during a refresh.
Great video! Thank you once again. I will just say, Edge class ships are very over priced in Europe. In the Caribbean it’s currently less that Royal!! Keep up the great work. I wanna see a suite natured X Paul &Carol joint venture 😂
Thank you Tony. Paul & Carole and us are on Gary Bembridges Group Cruise next year, so there's a chance of cross over then. We love P&C and have been watching them since before we started our channel so it would be fantastic.
Oh that's such a difficult question Jeffrey as they are so different. Entertainment was a lot better on Apex than QM2 and it's food was better too. But if you put us on the spot and made us choose one to go on again then it would be QM2 because she is so unique and we will 100% go on her again, probably for a TA. Apex is an incredible ship and we absolutely recommend her but we'd go on one of the other edge class ships next time just to try a different version. QM2 doesn't have a different version she's is unique and that's why we'd say her.
Before I say anything else, I have to take a look at if you've sailed other Celebrity ships. You did mention Cunard and some other lines. I don't see where you sailed a different class of Celebrity ship. Celebrity seemed to have its "A game" going in terms of food here. Glad you got to experience that because it is quite satisfying. This ship is unlike their previous classes. I want to look at your Apex tour. Showing the activites onboard the ship reveals both a plus (restaurants and food venues in all and the theater venue plud the musicians and entertiners), and minus (limited interior social/dance venues). Not the case necessarily in previous Celebrity ships. I look forward to viewing the Apex tour as well as some other ship tours and reviews you have.
Hi Benjamin, sorry for the delayed reply, it's all a bit chaotic at this time of year. Whilst we haven't filmed before on Celebrity, we have cruised with her before we started the channel in 2021. Our first experience was on one of the slightly smaller ships, Celebrity Eclipse, and we absolutely loved her. Some bits of it we preferred to the Edge class ones. The food though, as you noted, is a step up, and we are on an solstice class one again in Sept '24, so it will be interesting to see how it compared after the edge ones. Have a lovely day, Linzi & Mark
We cruised end of January in to February on the APEX. Truly loved the Ocean View buffet, absolutely disliked EDEN, all show. The one thing I hated were the 16/20 cooked frozen shrimp served everywhere, except RAW (up charge), can you say tripolyphosphates ?
That buffet was so good John, sad to hear you didn't enjoy Eden, we absolutely loved it, as you will have gathered. We can say tripolyphosphates but only if we have not. had too many of those cocktails in Raw on Five!😂
Hi Kelly, we booked a Deluxe Porthole Balcony, it is one of the few (outside of the Retreat Suites) cabins onboard that has a traditional balcony, rather than a Infinite Balcony. We loved the room, and the porthole balcony was fantastic, especially for a transatlantic or where the weather might be very changeable such as on a Fjords cruise. You can see a tour here. ruclips.net/video/i_BQ8xqPjBU/видео.html Linzi & Mark
All looks really good - love your style of reviews as ever. Still trying to decide which Edge class ship we will choose to try. 🚢🍹
Glad you enjoy them still 😂
If we were you it would either be Apex for Southampton or Beyond (to try La Voyage) but Southampton is easier 🤣
We agree with this review as Celebrity is our favourite cruise line. We have two Celebrity cruises booked for 2024.
Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed it, and agreed 😁
We have one Celebrity cruise next year, Eclipse out of Boston and then the new Xcel out of Florida in 2025, and equally excited for both.

Us too Andrew, Celebrity cruises are great, Infinity and Apex.
Thanks for sharing this review! I enjoyed the cruise and was in the choir ❤

Another wonderful review guys. I would definitely love to sail with Celebrity one day. Looking forward to seeing where your next cruise takes you. xx
Thank you Brigitte. You would both love Celebrity. Service wise it's Cunard like but more modern and the food is much better too.
Next up is Sun Princess in the med. So excited for that one.
Linzi and Mark
We did the retreat and ate the buffet most of the time!! Chicken noodle soup for room service every night so yum.
That's got to be the biggest compliment to the buffet you can make. We did try the chicken noodle soup too, it was lovely.
Thanks for the video!
