It's not an age thing, it's a class thing. If you dont mind spending money for luxury then Celebrity is for you no matter what your age. My son is only 17 and he absolutely loved loved loved Celebrity which shocked us because they didn't have any slides or anything which I though he would miss out on. But he said nah ma, the food was better the people and the teens onboard were calmer and seemed more educated, and the ship itself was better than any of the other ships that we've been on.

Lately, Celebrity cruises are less than Royal cruises (especially when compared to Royal's new mega ships!). My husband and I went earlier this year and were blown away at the lower cost compared to in the past years. 🥰
I agree two years ago we were in the Equinox last summer we went on Carnival . My entire family including my 14 year old daughter had a better experience with Celebrity.

We’ve sailed on Celebrity ships seven times, including two transatlantic voyages, Alaska, and the Caribbean. We’ve enjoyed everyone of them. Celebrity is the best value in cruising. For couples who have no interest in lines like Carnival that cater to families with children, drunk college kids, or rollercoasters, and who value service, and elevated dining, but don’t want to splash out on luxury lines like Regent or Seabourn, Celebrity is perfect.

Its not for everyone! But i have to say that of all the cruise lines i have sailed…..this one was the best for me!!! This was my 2nd celebrity sailing…..the food was so good!! Omg!! I was just happy at the buffet! I met a lot of fun people also! My coworker is Mr Cruise….& goes on about 4 cruises per year…..he did not like celebrity!! He told me it was for old people! He said it was wheel chair city! (We are both in our 60s!). He prefers Royal Caribbean…. I found it to be very adult….and there were many different age groups ! What i really loved was the fact that the gym was open 24 hours!!! I was there every day! My sailing was one of the best cruise experiences i have had…….i hope to go back very soon! Thnx for your video!
Agreed. I felt like I was in a retirement home. Wheelchairs, canes, oxygen tanks everywhere. We still enjoyed the cruise but was expecting a more mixed crowd.

I just returned from a cruise on Celebrity Beyond and while it was luxurious, there were two aspects I thought were very strange 1) I did not see anywhere to purchase necessities (toothbrush, aspirin, etc). I guess you ask your room attendant? 2) no water except from plastic water bottles that you need to request from the coffee shops or buffet. There were signs at the water stations at the buffet, where you could also get juice and hot water for tea, indicating that refilling water bottles is not allowed. I learned after the fact there is a "water package" you can purchase but it's in addition to the beverage package. This package will supply your room with however many bottles (I don't remember the exact amount). There was also the room "bar" with two bottles for an extra cost that presumably they replace if you drink them (I did not). Strange policy for a cruise line that claims to care about the environment.
The basic needs like aspirin, bonine, feminine products, toiletries are on Deck 4 in the shop next to theater (X collection i think).There's a back shelf in the Spirits section where staff will help ring you up for what you need. As for water, you're allowed to bring on board what you can hand carry (water, soda, coconut juice, etc). I used my laptop roll-on bag to help store the liquids, Hubby had his back pack. Each adult allowed 750ml bottle of unopened wine on board to celebrate an occasion, just be aware of cork fees if you're bringing it to one of the restaurants. There's no need though, restaurants have a decent selection unless you have ultra special bottle you want to drink on board.
We have been on 5 RC cruises, last being the inaugural sailing of Icon. We are looking forward to going on our first Celebrity cruise on Beyond in July for my birthday. Thanks for the great video and all the tips! Staying on the Sunset Veranda, thanks for that video as well!!
The video was very helpful. I always cruise with Royal Caribbean. Been looking at this cruise ship. Thinking of getting the Edge Villa. I just want to relax and take a slow pace. Glad you like the GYM. That is a must. I agree with one of the other comments. You have a great voice. So you would travel Celebrity again.

Thanks for a wonderful informative tour. I'm leaving next week for the southern Caribbean cruise on the infinite veranda suite on deck 8. I haven't been on a cruise since 1988!! My cousins are celebrating their 50th and they have been on 6 cruises. they usually travel Royal Carribbean, so its a first for them too. Can't wait to see and try all the different things to do, restaurants. I'll let you know hw I liked it when I return.
Great job with Beyond highlights! Just got off Celebrity Beyond with my hubby, it is an absolute gem. It's the first time we came off a cruise feeling there's so much more we wanted to do on the ship that we'd consider cruising on Beyond again. At least 2 different shows nightly between Eden & the Theater, so many dining options, we could have a completely different experience the next time. Quality food with variety, friendly staff, and the newer contemporary ship made it feel like a 5-star hotel experience. The embarkation & muster process was so quick & smooth too. I have no reason to go back on NCL or try Royal Caribbean.

Do it ,but be very sure of the cruise line ,they all are market specific , if you want an elegant experience Celebrity , Holland America ,and Cunard are recommended,if you want trash and a theme park atmosphere,Royal ,Norwegian and Carnival ar e the ones
We're sailing on Beyond in December, and are "beyond" excited! We were on Edge earlier this year, then made the mistake of taking Princess last month and really felt the difference. This will be our fourth cruise with Celebrity, and we agree with all your great observations!
Nice review, as others have mentioned the narration is great (relaxing voice). I have only cruised on P&O (until this year) where we tried a short 4 day taster cruise on Celebrity. This was Apex rather than Beyond but the same class of ship. Agree that this class of ship is a cut above others (including P&O) and particular highlights were the embarkation and disembarkation efficiency, the quality and range of the buffet offerings and the staff professionalism and demeanour. The Solarium is "adult only" with a caveat, in that there is a time slot in which that is relaxed and children are allowed (we found that this included young children using the jacuzzis despite age warning). So clearly this is a premium class cruise (for those unable to afford the small ship high end lines). Despite all that we are unsure yet whether we would make this our go to cruise line for a couple of reasons. The main one is that we are now technically pensioners (took early retirement at 58) and the cost in total appears to average out around 40-50% higher cost for equivalent cruise itinerary than P&O. Therefore on our limited budgets its a case of weighing up whether getting that 5* experience outweighs having perhaps more or longer cruises with P&O. Also we did feel that on the Apex we were thinking that we may have found the available areas a bit restrictive if it had been a 14 day cruise compared to how we felt on the liners we have sailed on with P&O. (note I understand that P&O is a very "British" cruise line compared to the more "International feel" of others). If we were still working then we might have a different opinion.
I have been on at least 10 cruises, been cruising with my family since I was a kid, and the first cruise we ever went on was an old classy ocean liner converted to a cruise ship (The Norway, which used to be a Cunard line ship). Been on NCL, Carnival, MSC, and Celebrity, and so far celebrity is by far the classiest. Here is why you would pick it (and the video is spot on). Celebrity prioritizes sqft per guest over anything else. If you look at how much passengers the Beyond takes (or any edge class), its HALF of the other premium tier competition (like Royal) and half of the more budget offerings (NCL, Carnival, MSC), but has ships around the same size. This makes the ship feel like there is TONS of room for everyone. There isn't any crowding or cramping around the pool or buffet. Its pleasant. The crowd is also more mature, classy, and maybe older, but this comes with a benefit, most guests are very respectful, courteous, and the lack of children is a big plus. Yes, the ship may seem "boring", but most guests are there for the ports of call and relaxation. Its literally impossible to relax on bigger ships with more people, or lines like NCL and Carnival where its just tons of immature children. Yes, that sounds pompous, but those lines cater towards young people, and that is great! When I was younger, I loved carnival, there were many people my age (late teens/college age) which allowed lots of mingling and interaction. I am not THAT old (as a matter of fact, haven''t even lived half my life yet) but I am going again on celebrity with my fiance for our honey moon, and the reasons are simple, we want to spend more quality time together, we want some more peace and quiet, and read a book in the sun without constantly being packed like sardines. We want classy aesthetics and good food, not water slides and rock climbing. People also like to say that celebrity is expensive (or cruising is expensive in general), that is why I would recommend MSC since its essentially budget celebrity, aimed at a more European crowd. But over all, the tickets for a good room on celebrity weren't that much more expensive than other cruise lines. Other cruise lines (especially MSC) offer more deals and more packages that could save you money, but Celebrity is the one that is worth it in my opinion unless you really do have a budget. If you know how to manage your money, cruising is by far the cheapest option out there for an all inclusive experience.

MSC Seascape is the worst cruise ship I have ever been on. MSC is one of the worst cruise lines. They are competing with Costa and Margaritaville as the worst cruise lines at these times. You have had luck on MSC but a lot of people haven’t had that experience you have had.

Great video. My husband and I are looking forward to our first Celebrity cruise. We have sailed Holland America, Carnival, NCL, Viking River, and Viking Ocean. (No plans to re-sail Carnival or NCL.) Celebrity seems to check all of the boxes for our preferences. Plus, we got a GREAT deal. 🚢
We did our first celebrity cruise over Thanksgiving on Apex, and then Reflection in March. Having been on many RC cruises prior, we were amazed at the difference and can't wait to cruise with them again. Yes, more expensive, but worth every penny. The crowd was more our style. The few kids that were on board had excellent behavior. Overall just a lovely experience. Looking forward to sailing on Beyond next spring!
My wife and I have been on both the Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Ascent. Very beautiful ships. These are the ships we will always be sailing on. We have also sailed on Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas, but Beyond and Ascent will always be ships we will sail on.
Can you explain why you prefer Celebrity Beyond and Ascent better than Allure and Symphony of the Seas? Which is better the Celebrity Beyond or Ascent?

I just got off of the Celebrity Beyond and it definitely was a premium line. I had no negatives. The ship, the food, every single staff member I encountered was nothing but top tier. I did an interior and I was perfectly fine with the room. With no windows it just made me get out alittle more to enjoy all the great areas of the ship. Fantastic cruise experience I had.

You all did such a wonderful review! I too experienced Celebrity Beyond very recently - April 2024. Royal Caribbean had been my favorite cruise line but as a 50-something cruiser, Celebrity will likely be my go-to. My favorite 2 spaces on the ship was the Solariam and the Sunset Bar area on the Rooftop. I too was disappointed to not get a reservation for the Rooftop Grill. What I missed from RCI, was the promanade layout, the plethera of LIVE music, and the dining room shows from the staff. Celebrity's main dining food never wowed me. I am not a big buffet person but I found the Mast GRill consistently fresh and flavorful. All this being said, I'd do the Beyond again! Just have to pay for the premium dining I suppose :)
I've been on 3 NCL cruises, Celebrity has a way better variety of food. More restaurants, even the buffet was nicely organized by different types of cuisines, there's something for everyone's different tastes.

lol! Yeah, it was definitely different from your typical ship, but wanted to try it. The last cruise we were on had too many kids, so we were looking for something with a more mature crowd.
People in their 60s and 70s have already gone through the noise and aggravation of children and teenagers and all that involves. At this point in their lives they want to be on a beautiful ship with great service. Great food and CHILL! Thank God these cruises!!!

I am in my 50’s and my hubby and I really like Celebrity, but we also like the Royal Caribbean “fun” vibe. I feel like Celebrity is a floating luxury resort and it’s nice to sail on when I just want to relax or I have a port and excursion-heavy cruise. It’s definitely a more upscale and calmer vibe. We are actually booked on both lines this year. Next month is Royal’s Icon of the Seas which will be jam-packed with activities and in September we are on Celebrity for a New England/Canada cruise. Two different experiences and we will enjoy both.

Hey guys! Great video. We have sailed with celebrity (silhouette) in January to the Caribbean. We are considering booking a cruise to the ABC islands, cozumel, bahamas etc on the beyond for this september. Should i have any concerns about cruising this time of year as it falls in hurricane season?
Great question! We have cruised during hurricane season before. Due to the winds, we were unable to stop at some of the smaller islands like Coco Cay, but other than that it was fine. The captain did a great job of avoiding the rough areas.
I've heard that Princess is comparable to Celebrity, so you might want to check them out as well. Also, you tend to not see the kids because they hide them in the basement (you know, presumably with lots of activities, and games, etc).

YES you should! Do it online under Manage my Cruise. Most popular dining times will be full if you don’t book them in advance, especially Eden. About the only one that is usually open is Le Petit Chef.

There were signs at the water stations at the buffet, where you could also get juice and hot water for tea, indicating that refilling water bottles is not allowed. I learned after the fact there is a "water package" you can purchase but it's in addition to the beverage package. This package will supply your room with however many bottles (I don't remember the exact amount). There was also the room "bar" with two bottles for an extra cost that presumably they replace if you drink them (I did not). Strange policy for a cruise line that claims to care about the environment.

The basic needs like aspirin, bonine, feminine products, toiletries are on Deck 4 in the shop next to theater (X collection i think).There's a back shelf in the Spirits section where staff will help ring you up for what you need.
As for water, you're allowed to bring on board what you can hand carry (water, soda, coconut juice, etc). I used my laptop roll-on bag to help store the liquids, Hubby had his back pack.
Each adult allowed 750ml bottle of unopened wine on board to celebrate an occasion, just be aware of cork fees if you're bringing it to one of the restaurants. There's no need though, restaurants have a decent selection unless you have ultra special bottle you want to drink on board.

Thanks for a wonderful informative tour. I'm leaving next week for the southern Caribbean cruise on the infinite veranda suite on deck 8. I haven't been on a cruise since 1988!! My cousins are celebrating their 50th and they have been on 6 cruises. they usually travel Royal Carribbean, so its a first for them too. Can't wait to see and try all the different things to do, restaurants. I'll let you know hw I liked it when I return.

Great job with Beyond highlights! Just got off Celebrity Beyond with my hubby, it is an absolute gem. It's the first time we came off a cruise feeling there's so much more we wanted to do on the ship that we'd consider cruising on Beyond again. At least 2 different shows nightly between Eden & the Theater, so many dining options, we could have a completely different experience the next time. Quality food with variety, friendly staff, and the newer contemporary ship made it feel like a 5-star hotel experience.
The embarkation & muster process was so quick & smooth too. I have no reason to go back on NCL or try Royal Caribbean.

Nice review, as others have mentioned the narration is great (relaxing voice). I have only cruised on P&O (until this year) where we tried a short 4 day taster cruise on Celebrity. This was Apex rather than Beyond but the same class of ship. Agree that this class of ship is a cut above others (including P&O) and particular highlights were the embarkation and disembarkation efficiency, the quality and range of the buffet offerings and the staff professionalism and demeanour. The Solarium is "adult only" with a caveat, in that there is a time slot in which that is relaxed and children are allowed (we found that this included young children using the jacuzzis despite age warning). So clearly this is a premium class cruise (for those unable to afford the small ship high end lines). Despite all that we are unsure yet whether we would make this our go to cruise line for a couple of reasons. The main one is that we are now technically pensioners (took early retirement at 58) and the cost in total appears to average out around 40-50% higher cost for equivalent cruise itinerary than P&O. Therefore on our limited budgets its a case of weighing up whether getting that 5* experience outweighs having perhaps more or longer cruises with P&O. Also we did feel that on the Apex we were thinking that we may have found the available areas a bit restrictive if it had been a 14 day cruise compared to how we felt on the liners we have sailed on with P&O. (note I understand that P&O is a very "British" cruise line compared to the more "International feel" of others). If we were still working then we might have a different opinion.

I have been on at least 10 cruises, been cruising with my family since I was a kid, and the first cruise we ever went on was an old classy ocean liner converted to a cruise ship (The Norway, which used to be a Cunard line ship). Been on NCL, Carnival, MSC, and Celebrity, and so far celebrity is by far the classiest. Here is why you would pick it (and the video is spot on).
Celebrity prioritizes sqft per guest over anything else. If you look at how much passengers the Beyond takes (or any edge class), its HALF of the other premium tier competition (like Royal) and half of the more budget offerings (NCL, Carnival, MSC), but has ships around the same size. This makes the ship feel like there is TONS of room for everyone. There isn't any crowding or cramping around the pool or buffet. Its pleasant.
The crowd is also more mature, classy, and maybe older, but this comes with a benefit, most guests are very respectful, courteous, and the lack of children is a big plus. Yes, the ship may seem "boring", but most guests are there for the ports of call and relaxation. Its literally impossible to relax on bigger ships with more people, or lines like NCL and Carnival where its just tons of immature children. Yes, that sounds pompous, but those lines cater towards young people, and that is great! When I was younger, I loved carnival, there were many people my age (late teens/college age) which allowed lots of mingling and interaction.
I am not THAT old (as a matter of fact, haven''t even lived half my life yet) but I am going again on celebrity with my fiance for our honey moon, and the reasons are simple, we want to spend more quality time together, we want some more peace and quiet, and read a book in the sun without constantly being packed like sardines. We want classy aesthetics and good food, not water slides and rock climbing.
People also like to say that celebrity is expensive (or cruising is expensive in general), that is why I would recommend MSC since its essentially budget celebrity, aimed at a more European crowd.
But over all, the tickets for a good room on celebrity weren't that much more expensive than other cruise lines. Other cruise lines (especially MSC) offer more deals and more packages that could save you money, but Celebrity is the one that is worth it in my opinion unless you really do have a budget.
If you know how to manage your money, cruising is by far the cheapest option out there for an all inclusive experience.

MSC Seascape is the worst cruise ship I have ever been on. MSC is one of the worst cruise lines. They are competing with Costa and Margaritaville as the worst cruise lines at these times.
You have had luck on MSC but a lot of people haven’t had that experience you have had.

We did our first celebrity cruise over Thanksgiving on Apex, and then Reflection in March. Having been on many RC cruises prior, we were amazed at the difference and can't wait to cruise with them again. Yes, more expensive, but worth every penny. The crowd was more our style. The few kids that were on board had excellent behavior. Overall just a lovely experience. Looking forward to sailing on Beyond next spring!

My wife and I have been on both the Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Ascent. Very beautiful ships. These are the ships we will always be sailing on. We have also sailed on Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas, but Beyond and Ascent will always be ships we will sail on.

I just got off of the Celebrity Beyond and it definitely was a premium line. I had no negatives. The ship, the food, every single staff member I encountered was nothing but top tier. I did an interior and I was perfectly fine with the room. With no windows it just made me get out alittle more to enjoy all the great areas of the ship. Fantastic cruise experience I had.

You all did such a wonderful review! I too experienced Celebrity Beyond very recently - April 2024. Royal Caribbean had been my favorite cruise line but as a 50-something cruiser, Celebrity will likely be my go-to. My favorite 2 spaces on the ship was the Solariam and the Sunset Bar area on the Rooftop. I too was disappointed to not get a reservation for the Rooftop Grill. What I missed from RCI, was the promanade layout, the plethera of LIVE music, and the dining room shows from the staff. Celebrity's main dining food never wowed me. I am not a big buffet person but I found the Mast GRill consistently fresh and flavorful. All this being said, I'd do the Beyond again! Just have to pay for the premium dining I suppose :)

I've been on 3 NCL cruises, Celebrity has a way better variety of food. More restaurants, even the buffet was nicely organized by different types of cuisines, there's something for everyone's different tastes.

lol! Yeah, it was definitely different from your typical ship, but wanted to try it. The last cruise we were on had too many kids, so we were looking for something with a more mature crowd.
People in their 60s and 70s have already gone through the noise and aggravation of children and teenagers and all that involves. At this point in their lives they want to be on a beautiful ship with great service. Great food and CHILL! Thank God these cruises!!!

I am in my 50’s and my hubby and I really like Celebrity, but we also like the Royal Caribbean “fun” vibe. I feel like Celebrity is a floating luxury resort and it’s nice to sail on when I just want to relax or I have a port and excursion-heavy cruise. It’s definitely a more upscale and calmer vibe. We are actually booked on both lines this year. Next month is Royal’s Icon of the Seas which will be jam-packed with activities and in September we are on Celebrity for a New England/Canada cruise. Two different experiences and we will enjoy both.

Hey guys! Great video. We have sailed with celebrity (silhouette) in January to the Caribbean. We are considering booking a cruise to the ABC islands, cozumel, bahamas etc on the beyond for this september. Should i have any concerns about cruising this time of year as it falls in hurricane season?
Great question! We have cruised during hurricane season before. Due to the winds, we were unable to stop at some of the smaller islands like Coco Cay, but other than that it was fine. The captain did a great job of avoiding the rough areas.

Yeah, we normally like doing 5 day cruises. The 7 day and longer cruises can be bit much.
I've heard that Princess is comparable to Celebrity, so you might want to check them out as well. Also, you tend to not see the kids because they hide them in the basement (you know, presumably with lots of activities, and games, etc).
Yes, Princess is on our list and we plan to cruise with them soon!

We didn’t. We didn’t need to though for most restaurants.

YES you should! Do it online under Manage my Cruise. Most popular dining times will be full if you don’t book them in advance, especially Eden. About the only one that is usually open is Le Petit Chef.
Would you recommend this ship to solo travelers or do you think a solo cruiser would get bored quickly?
Good question! I think a solo traveler would be very happy on this ship! There is so much to do and everyone was very friendly!
