OMG THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ♥ ♥ ♥ I just got my air pods as a gift. I was hoping it would work for my laptop & not just my phone. I'm a night owl & stay up super late, doing a legion of things. My other headphones (IDKY cuz I take good care of them) are falling apart. The weight of them hurts my ears after a while & they're not comfortable to use while laying down. Same thing happened to me .You have to turn off the Bluetooth switch on your laptop and turn it back on, reselect AirPods. It should work 😉

An interesting observation and problem. My Airpods Pro pair and connect with my HP EliteBook 840 G3, I hear audio super fine....BUT interestingly, the Input does not work. I selected Airpods as the Input device in Settings App, but as soon as I select Airpods as Input device, even the music stops playing, as soon as I revert back to Internal Microphone I start hearing the music playing. Note that I see 2 options for my Airpod, one is named "Headphones (Airpods Pro)" and the other named "Headset (Airpods Pro Hands-Free)", the second one causes problems. So, in nutshell I cannot use Airpods as a headset, and only listen to audio (the Mic does not work).
