To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

Worked exactly as you described (on my Acer Aspire 5). I forgot about:1) leaving the Airpod case open during the pairing, and, 2) the need to press the small white button on the lower portion of the Airpod case. Once I did that, my laptop took about 5 secs to find it. Great job!

If you are having troubles connecting make sure to:
1. Hold the button on the back of them (Make sure the AirPods are in the case!)
2. Keep holding the button on the back of it until it starts blinking with the white.
3. Keep holding until "Headphones" or something else pops up on your screen.
4. Click it, and they should be connected and it will be on your Bluetooth devices so you won't have to do it again! (Hopefully)

For those viewers out-there, you need to keep in mind that if your laptop doesn't have a built-in Bluetooth hardware, you may need to purchase a Bluetooth USB dongle. In my particular case, I had to buy an Insignia - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter and attach it to my to my laptop USB port. After adding Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter to my laptop, I was able to pair my Airpods by following the instructions on this video. I went to BestBuy and I paid $20.99 for my Insignia - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter. However, you can find other brands on Ebay for just $3.99.
