HAPPY Freakin' HALLOWEEN!!! 🎃
*Don't act crazy and lose your heads out there* 😉
I'm a huge horror movie fan, but this one is the only one to give me nightmares, it doesn't rely on constant jumpscares, it builds up on jumpscares. I still can't believe Toni Collette wasn't nominated for an Oscar, she was phenomenal
Toni is an incredible actor. So versatile.
A slap on the head for all of you who kept on at Michelle to watch this. She's a sensitive soul, bless her. 🙄
It was very enjoyable though lol
😭
"I don't like the word 'ritual'".
Oh you sweet, summer child...
Basically they needed a male host to put the demon, Paimon, in. It was in Charlie and they used Peter to be the host. There are clues throughout, like Toni mentioning her brother killing himself because the Mom was trying to put people inside of him. It was carefully planned by the cult. Even Charlie's death was orchestrated, as you see the symbol on the post as they are driving to the party and then on the way back with the deer in the road. All of the cult members you see in the house at the end were seen throughout the movie, like the smiling naked man at the funeral. Even one of the members bowing down in the tree house at the end, was one of Peter's friends while he was having a panic attack after smoking weed under the bleachers. I'd reccomend watching it a few times if you want to dissect.
So basically peters grandma doomed humanity.
😳
This was a mean one to recommend. There's a lot going on:
Paimon is a demon in hell that wants physical form so a cult arises to give him a body. But it keeps failing. Grandma's candidate hangs himself, Charlie the girl doesn't fit because Paimon wants to be a guy, so they target the son. They coordinate the death of Charlie (runes on the telephone pole, force him to swerve) to break him psychologically, target him with rituals (carvings in the table, pictures of him defaced), and start to get inside. The real tragedy is mom, who is just an unwitting pawn. She even starts the ritual without realizing with the whole family in "attendance" including grandma's corpse and Charlie's head. And some instinct or force wants her to kill her son to prevent all of this but she can't. In the end, it kills her with her own body and she participates in welcoming King Paimon to earth.
It's really unsettling, has the tough stuff like a mother who is being manipulated into not loving her son, and a complete destruction of their family.
Like I said, a mean one to recommend.
The dad too he just wanted to help his son but didn’t know what was truly happening
😭
I applaud you Mum, you watched (IMO), the scariest movie ever made.
15:32 "...you don't do that."
RULE #1
11:50 there are no coincidences
American mum and the mum from the film look confusingly similar. Same nose, same mouth, same complete face. Only the hairstyle is different. That's funny!
This movie and its actors deserve OscarS!!!
Just found your channel, great reaction! With a movie like Hereditary, if one really wants to understand it, it needs to be watched about 3 or 4 times. You’ll have all these “ah hah” moments. It’s really a very well made film.
People describe this movie as a slow burn fuse but I think it’s better characterized as a bunch of rubber bands slowly being pulled over the entire movie.
I put off watching this when it came out bc so many people said it sucked. So watched it about a year later and I thought it was great! It was disturbing and weird and TONI COLLETTE! Luckily I had no spoilers beforehand bc I actually gasped at "that moment" Great reaction!
When this movie ended, I brusquely told my friends that I watched it with, "I'm not going to feel okay for a very long time." I was right!
Watch Black Phone. You will love it. It's horror, but I can totally see you enjoying it thoroughly, without pooping yourself. Such good characters to root for
I saw it on my own... it was freaky. I didn't know it would be so interesting or I would've reacted to it
Pretty good movie, I'd watch it again. Wish it was more scary and dreadful, I almost felt satisfied.
Maybe horror, but dread? I thought this movie captured pure dread better than most horror movies I've watched in recent years. Toni Collettes' performance of pure anguish was award worthy.
Lol Patti Levin from The Leftovers
This movie is a tough watch, Toni Collette is an awesome actress
Happy Halloween 🎃🌘
Love this movie. Happy Halloween! 🎃🖤
Same to you!
Great performances by everyone in this movie
Girl! This monieeeeee!!! 😩😩😩 I have so many questions! Main question is why did they send that boy back to school so soon after his sister died???
EXACTLY! I left that part out of YT edit... I DO say that tho 🙄
Looks like she missed the grandma in the dark at 4:55 😅
I missed lots! 😆
Happy Halloween 🎃
Same to you!
@@AmericanMumReacts Thank you sweetie pie ❤️
Oh no. It's too late to say "NOOOO DON'T WATCH THIS ONE!!"
😳
I love love love this film, and this director's next film, Midsommar.
I hope you react to House of the Dragon!
Wtf?! Why the hell would people tell her one of the most shocking parts of the movie before she’s seen it?! Jesus
i know...
i wonder how many men die of breast cancer but have people say something like ball cancer or sphincter cancer
It's a lower % but it definitely happens! 💗
Your reactions are so good. I would love to see you react to Twister
With Helen Hunt? I LOVE that movie!
@@AmericanMumReacts Yep! Its my favorite! I love when others like it! :)
This movie made no sense to me the first time around. Rewatching and watching peoples reactions to it though, you catch on the story and see subtle pieces you miss the first time around
Hmmm, would a cliff notes version help? 😁
I caught on to a lot more while editing... still crazy af
Hahaha oh shit this movie. I forgot how messed up this one was.
WOW
Rare case when I didn't like a movie 🙃
But I liked director's next horror very much - Midsommar
Midsommar was "trippy"...
It was the other way around for me
@@newburger I think I might like it if trailer didn't make it look like granny would be resurrected or her ghost would stay around. In other words - wrong expectations because of trailer
I thought I was the only one not impressed. I didn't find it scary. I was bored. Midsommer was slow, but I really liked it.
Hi, can I ask, are you going to watch Suicide Squad (2021) by James Gunn? It's much better than the first one.
I Just love seeing your reactions to all these great Movie's Sweetheart
Glad you like them! 💚
@@AmericanMumReacts love it
Can you react to house of the dragon? Its very good
Wasn't a fan of this movie.. ._. didn't understand it nor find it intresting, but glad u liked it :)
For such a big GoT fan how did you not react to HoTD!!! The show is so good. Classic GoT vibes!! Your GoT reactions were so good. What a missed opportunity!!
I haven't had the time to commit to the show rn... I'll see it at some point
Anyone who didn't understand it didn't pay attention. This movie is stellar and an instant horror classic
I agree! It’s a masterpiece!
This to me counts as a classic horror when they don't rely on jumpscares, but more into long silence, combined with psychologycal thriller, and random bullshit that never crossed your mind.
That flying body scene just knocked my soul out of my body.
I caught SO much more rewatching it!
Hello mum.. I'm one of your fan.. I'm always watching your videos.. ❤ I just want to ask if you can hear my daughter's singing voice.. if you just a little time.😊. thanks a lot.. take care and have a great day..❤❤❤
