Dear lord I'm about to do my first engine disassembly on a spare gsxr 750 k6 engine I bought to rebuild mine and didnt know where to start, I'm so glad I found this. Thanks !
Good luck!
Good luck and have fun!
Just found this channel. Great content and nice to watch someone that actually knows what they're doing. Looking forward to next video but in the mean time working my way through the back catalogue.
Thanks for the positivity 👍
Absolutely the most informative and detailed video ive found on RUclips for the gsxr motors. I have 2 gsxr600 98'. Great commentary jim 👏👍hands down, ive learned a few things that i never knew, even after being a gsxr ower for 10 yrs.
I enjoyed every minute of this, love the commentary. Really appreciate you giving us an insight into your skills and knowledge. Thanks!
Thanks for the positivity it's really appreciated 👍

I'm like 1 minute in and I can already hear you saying "stop waffeling, Jim". :D
Great video, keep waffling Jim, the most informative bits come out then!!
These newer engines are marvels of packaging.
It would be great if you did a GSXR oiler engine one day.
My 88 model 750 has 200+ Ks on it.
This is my new fav channel.
Great video Jim. Cheers
Love your attitude and your skills as well as the editing of these videos. You're doing a fantastic job, unique across the youtubes, so thank you for sharing it with us! Glad I waited for all episodes of this mini series, got my beer in the freezer so let's goooo! :)
PS: pretty sure the movie reference was Snatch, one of my favorites :D
I want a gsxr 750 now
A bit late in the day I know, but I had the 'joy' of doing CX500 cam tensioner mods. That was an engine out job!
Never knew I could get this kind of entertainment for free.... subscribed
Nice one jim.
Some good tips here, I’m currently rebuilding an XV535 engine (well re assembling after a clean up and unseizing it) an being a V Twin it’s simple to get all the valves closed, and my other bike a Parallel Twin just the same but haven’t considered an Inline 4 needing to be taken apart with more consideration like this. Great vid and nice that there’s at least one actual motorcycle mechanic on RUclips giving real advice. But don’t you just find the shims under buckets a pain in the arse to do valve adjustments on when you’re only doing that rather than a strip down ? Thanks for the upload 😊
"Its too tightz" .... my favorite too :-)
Thanks!
The dealership I worked at we were doing the same on busas
Great channel, so much info not waffle. but I feel you might have PTSD from that hayabusa engine lol.
Great vid, people nowadays like to use powertools for everything, It's nice to see you using (as I do as well) good old hand tools. Will you be talking about costs?
No I don't really go into costs that much, Labour charges vary quite a bit as do the cost of parts depending where in the world you live. I think I already talk too much 😅
I’ve just got a 2004 gsxr 750 for the track and now I’m feeling very much like “Tommy” from Snatch, as in “What do I know about jixers?” 😆
Be interested to know if you ran a compression test before rebuild.
Nice!

Beautiful video 👍🏼 Btw what year engine? Looks real similar to my 05 750 engine.
Can I only remove the cam shaft to remove a spark plug that fell through? Or reach to top of the cylinders?
Where did you get the red brackets for the stand?
💪💪💪💪pedazo de video tio 💯💯💯lo que no se escucha tio
Now I just want to take my engine apart for the Hell of if 😂😂
Haven't watched one of your videos for a while, but bloody love them, your detail and commentary is superb. What year 750 engine is this? Is the SRAD era, and how different to the SRAD600 would it be?
It's the generation after the SRAD but very very similar 👍
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV wow quick reply. Thank you.
How many miles had the Gsxr750 engine done
Nice vid, ty. What engine Mount do you use? Is it home made? Im looking for 1 for my own GSX-R project.
I made the adapters to go on a car engine stand.
How many miles did this engine have on it?
hype!
What year is this motor?
water-cooler?
Hi i put a hayabusa engine in my dune buggy , I finally got my Busa dune buggy running , and it sounds great but when I start to push the clutch pedal in it makes a grinding noise like if you were you're trying to shift without the clutch ? would you have any idea what it could be ?
Really difficult without seeing it 😕
@@SuperbikeSurgeryTV thanks for replying it worked fine before i put the engine into the dune buggy , it wouldn't have anything to do with converting from clutch lever to floor pedal
Fookin hell Jim
how many miles had it done?
Probably only one or two mikes, but five garys and two trevors. It's a Gixxer after all.
@@villiamo3861 lol. miles , sorry didn't see the typo
Hurry up Dear
Snatch lol
You been on a rally course ain't you Tyrone 🤣
