    I know this video is old but I dropped the motor on a 1998 gsxr 750 srad because it had noise coming from the transmission. I was curious to know if I have to do a complete tear down of the motor to reach the trans? I’m asking this because it will be my first time working on my engine and I’m trying to get all the information in that I can.

      Hey, You can acces the transmission from the bottom of the engine. Fix the engine reight side down in a stand then remove the oilpan, clutchcover etc. Then you can remove the lover half of the engine casting. once this is done you can remove the 2 pieces of the transmission. Since this is a fairly complex work I would recommend that you pick up the Workshop manual. all the work and tourqe values are explained there.

    Great videos man! I have gsxr 1000k1 so it very informative for me to see how my engine works and looks inside. I think there would be not that many differences between srad and k1 in engine design?

    Hello, I want to buy a used engine from a local shop. I have a 99 SRAD 750. The engine of the shop has a stamp on it which says 97. Is it normal? The serial no is:R733-100309

    • @thesradchannel8818

      don't worry about casting markings. Just make sure the engine is a carb or FI model corresponding to you own bike. You can determine the two models by checking the valve cover. The FI engine has a cam position sensor on top of the cover ( Black electrical connector) wich the carburator model is missing.

    I have the same bike, 99 SRAD 750 (8000km).
    In high rpm in 5th gear the FI red light flashed once, and then the light went off. What could it mean?

    • @thesradchannel8818
      @thesradchannel8818  4 года назад +1

      Hey! This could result from serveral things. The main indicator of the red LED is to warn you of missing oil pressure. So check if you oil level is correct and top the oil up if there is some missing. Another issue yould be a bad connection to ground on the oil pressure sensor. It's located on the bottom right side of the crank case and has a single green wire running of it. If there is exessive gunk on the sensor, clean it and check of the connection is good.

    Sag mal muss man die Kopfschrauben erneuern oder kann man die alten wieder verwenden?

  • @PhilTV100

    Hi sag mal, muss man eig nachdem man den Zylinderkopf mal vom Zylindef ab hatte ihn unbedingt hohnen lassen?
    Oder neue dichtung drauf und gut?
    Bzw. Hast du ihn hohnen lassen vorm H
    Zusammenbau?

    • @thesradchannel8818
      @thesradchannel8818  3 года назад

      Nein, wenn die Dichtungsflächen des Zylinders und des Zykinderkopfs ohne Beschädigungen sind reicht eine neue Dichtung. Ich habe die Zylinderköpfe immer planen lassen um später eine etwas höhere Verdichtung zu bekommen.

    Hi mate, my bike sounds okay when RPM less than 4000, but it starts to produce knocking sound when I rev the RPM more than 4000.. its like a metal knocking sound.. I am wondering what causes the sound, it looks like the sound originates from the top end, . Thank you.

    • @thesradchannel8818

      Hey, this could be casued by serveral things. I would check the valve clearance, camshaft postition and timing chain tensioner. You can check those by removing the valve cover. If I had to gues I would lean towards valve clearance or maybe you installed one of the cams slightly offset to TDC/BDC.

    • @zamzx10
      @zamzx10 4 года назад

      @@thesradchannel8818 Hi mate, thanks for your kind reply. Replaced tensioner 2yrs ago. What's the best way to ensure the camshafts having perfectly positioned? As far as I know is, during installation we've to ensure the marks (index) align properly by look it at the holes just above the place whereby we can manually crank the crankshaft. And furthermore we've to count the 15pins of timing chain right? Cheers mate.

    • @thesradchannel8818
      @thesradchannel8818  4 года назад

      @@zamzx10 Yeah the way you described the cam alignment is correct. Next would be the valve clearance. IIn the worst case the sound could come from a damaged bearing. It's hard to diagnose problems over the internet but I hope I can point you some ideas.

    Hello friend, could you tell me what temperature the exhaust pipes can reach, because I want to put a thermotape tape to avoid damaging the fairings! and you have instagran? big hug.

    • @thesradchannel8818
      @thesradchannel8818  4 года назад +1

      Hey! I don't have an Instagram acount for the bike stuff but maybe I'll make on later... I used some glas fiber exhaust wrap tho protect the fairing from getting in contact with the exhaust. In aditition you can get youself aluminum tape from you local hardware store thats usualy used for ovens an stuff and put that on the inside of the fairing in the places where the exhaust comes close to touching it. Just don't use anything with adheasive on the exhaust directly. This yould be nasty when the glue starts to melt.
