That E7 to F really takes it out of pure pop music though.
I've been working on this, played it about a dozen times now, watched how others play it, and have come to the conclusion that this is not guitar music if you play it like the original recording. The guitar is barely there, drowned in effects, but the bass and bass drum are very prominent, which is why a lot of people are playing this purely as power chords.
And if you're playing it alone, forget singing the background singer parts.
But it can be a guitar tune. I'm basically working on a whole other arrangement for just guitar which is more dynamic.
Still, of course, if you just want to pick up the guitar and sing it at a party, it's doable like that.
