One of the things i hate the MOST in some main characters from isekai manga or anime is their lack of emotion or common sense, like imagine going to a fantasy world and becoming OP! And then you see them destroy a whole mountain with a fireball and not understanding why everyone around them looks so shock! Or when they do horrible things or insane things and their facial expression never changes ever!

Lets be honest, 99% of Isekai are not written because the authors have interesting stories to tell. They are written as power fantasies, where the author self inserts in a very literal sense (literally having their character stand in, get teleported to another world.). Its why most Isekai have the overpowered MC, and why they generally tend to be surrounded with beautiful women (sometimes men too.), who all happen to be attracted to, or just generally devoted to them in some way or another. There are obviously exceptions. There are well written and fun Isekai out there (I personally really like Konosuba.), and there are also non isekai that are written purely for the author's own self insert fan fic (Looking at something like Misfit of Demon King Academy. I've honestly never seen anything so blatantly self insert power fantasy as that series is.), but for the vast majority of the time, I stand by that assessment.
Yeah in most cases you can really notice it too... I don't mind isekai as a concept in itself, it's just so easy to warp into you own self insert harem adventure
Re zero Konosuba Mushoku Tensei Tensura Iruma-kum Overlord Now and then here and there Saga of Tanya the Evil The Devil is a Part-timer The Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius young Lady So I'm a spider so what Some of the best in the genre imo. I've read the novels for most of them so I may be judging from that and not the anime.
I was worried you would say something bad about Eminence in Shadow, cause thats my favorite "other world" anime lol But anyway yeah i understand your frustration, especially the whole "MC OP" thing, of course it can work in my opinion, like how I mentioned Eminence in Shadow, other example being Overlord, Slime, and One Punch Man, BUT! To say i like it 100% would be a lie, it gets repetitive and boring sometimes. In the end i do agree with your take on this subject, and i do wish certain Isekai animes were better, but I'm not gonna act like im perfect, I love trashy anime like that.

I think a lot of the time you can tell immediately if an isekai is bad if the characters have no personality. The dialogue just tends to highlight this too since they think they're writing for 10 year olds
I’d go even further and say “profitability” is where creativity goes to die. If it’s not isekai, it’s about a teenage boy getting involved with users of cursed weapons and abilities, trying to grapple with his humanity and the consequences of power. Isekai has just had a ton of staying power *life as a career person in Japan makes you long for salvation in the form of a truck, preferably after you’ve done something to justify your existence to yourself first, like pushing a girl who secretly has a crush on you and also gets isekai’d later out of the way of said truck*. lol Considering most anime is just advertisement for light novels and manga, being able to crap out the same story over 20 times a year for 12-24 episodes worth of “content”, then “buy our waifu figures and the source material because this story will never, ever, ever be fully animated. That was my biggest disappointment getting into anime lol.

Video #7393 In which a clown calls some anime bad for literally no reason or just calls them bad because they're " generic " or " edgy ", instead of actually providing arguments as to why these individual shows fail, while also simping for shows that are also super generic like Mushoku tensei Ironically in the segment of the video where you talk about what makes an isekai good, a lot of the points also apply to other isekai you called " bad " For example in shield hero the world is touched upon a lot, he builds a village in S1 and in S3 the whole story is about that village, the whole plot of Arifureta is the MC going around different landscapes and areas of the world to achieve his goal, which shows us nice world building, they're also both interesting MCs The MC of tales of kingdom rings isn't OP and he struggles and grows a lot and he loses ( also the ecchi actually matters in that show, did you watch it blind ??? ) I can go on and on but maybe have actual valid arguments instead of calling any isekai anime bad because it's generic ( NEWS FLASH : 90% of any genre of any medium is generic and not unique ) and actually watch the shows you complain about instead of obviously only watching 1-3 eps
