This is abs ,dude. Core exercises are about stabilising and strengthening from the core( neck to knees). Mostly it's holding positions or bracing the core and moving the outer parts.

You have a very refined level of articulation, not just from your birthplace, but your conservative and liberated too, you are probably one of the most perfect examples of what bodybuilders used to aspire to. Grace, charm and the presence of a champion. You have such a fluid movement and yet you are statuesque and built very wide and big. It is amazing to witness the bodybuilding lifestyle transform again, into a brand, a blog and a beacon for others. Gone are the days of cable television when you were lucky if you caught a random bodybuilding segment, or tried to block out the Soloflex commercials. I think what maybe folks don't realize is, you begin to really find yourself, when you workout, accelerate and expand your fitness horizons. They don't realize yet, what that feeling is, when you look in the mirror and your face is chiseled, your muscles have grown into an attractive frame, and the brain falls slightly more in love with it's body, thus we love ourselves more, we are more attractive than we ever were, and everything changes. I smile and hope to motivate the guys at the gym, just starting, looking for themselves in the mirror. You must find the quiet subconscious ones, and let them know how long it took you to become as accomplished as you are. It takes years and years, and they just have to keep feeling happy and healthy and motivated. I like your shorts and your clothing line is very nice. You should be so proud of yourself. I am going to the gym now, I will try your hanging ab crunch routine

Regarding back strengthening exercises. I use to suffer from lower middle back pain and it got so bad that my GP referred me to hospital to be shown exercises to help me strengthen it. I have incorporated these into my routine and have not had any major problems there since - and that was easily 20+ years ago! I perform these at the end of my workout and what I call, in my progress book, 'Stretching & Toning'.

With the ropes Ive learned to let reverse gravity take the pressure of the hip flexors (you might need to increase the weight) and not to tense your arms so much. With these to discoveries my spine feels like it’s floating and my abs feel like they have to control the direction of floating.
Thanks Mike. Your non-ego attitude makes you an attractive teacher, I’m sure.

Mike, to fix your transverse rotation to your lumbar & thoracic parts of your spine and not to your hips.
from your normal standing position, plant your heals and turn your feet so your big toes of your left and right feet are closer to each other than your heals, making your slightly knock-kneed.
this will lock your hips in place but allow your spin to twist, so that you can focuse more on you core.
thats a trick taught to me by a trainer at Premier when I trained as a PT. L3

With the exercise where you are in a plank position, rolling the stability ball in, and your hands are propped on the bench, is there a difference between having your hands on the floor, compared to being on the bench? The exercise is around the 9:00 - 9:55 section. Thanks and great videos BTW.

I don't usually like, or share many you tubers videos because it feels like an endorsement, but people like Mike who are genuine with their information and really want to make information available for everybody deserve as much exposure as possible in anyway. I really hope he continues making videos, as I have been following them for almost 1 month now, and for the first time in my life my chest notably has started to get more defined due to his gym mistakes videos supplemented with the routines he advises. I really hope mikes channel continue to grow and prosper, because this man's advice is dumbed down from the nutrition to the workouts. Doesn't get any more idiot proof than this.

Very useful and thanks for advice and tips. Regarding chin-ups and pull-ups: I always use the padded seat to rest my knees on as when I was doing them without the seat, my lower body was swinging far too much - like a pendulum. I've noticed that many people cross their legs over their heels if that makes sense and wonder what the effect of this has.

In youre version of the decline crunch the hip flexors are the muscles getting worked dynamically and your abs isometrically, since dynamic ab training requires spinal flexion, and for a full range of motion in the eccentric phase, spinal extension.
Too much spinal flexion and extension is horrible for the discs though, but i just wanted to point out that it's still your hipflexors doing the work.
