ThNk you for giving a good inside tour of everything!! There are very few videos that do this-you did a great job showing layout, function, cabin height, etc!!
I chuckled when you said the towel holder was plastic and couldn't be counted on for any kind of strength! Don't be hanging 100 pound towels on them or you'll be sorry!
Hey Jason nice boat! Thanks for the video. I just bought an Oday 240, she will be going in the water in the next couple weeks. How’s your sailing going?
Excellent! Congrats! My sailing is on hold for a few more weeks. I moved up to Wisconsin so I trade sails for skis until late April. I’m in the market for a 30 foot boat and a Hobie catamaran for my next chapter on the Great Lakes. Let me know how your 240 treats you.
Nice video. I'm looking at an 1988 240, so this was very helpful. I'm a newbie too, so just curious what your thoughts after a year, if you're happy with it, etc.?
Thanks paul! I sold the boat back in December, but I can say it was a great boat the entire time. I cant think of any reason I wouldnt have kept it if I had stayed in the area. It just wasnt cost effective to find a trailer or pay to transport it to Lake Michigan. I will say, check the forward hatch. They seem to get brittle on every 240 I've seen.
Still fixing up the new boat in Milwaukee! It's been less sailing than Id hoped, and videos of me fighting with bilge pumps, wheels, and hatches are not the content I want to always post. I'll be back soon!
Looking forward to seeing you sail that thing!
Getting close! I wasn’t aware how much refit it needed before I could get on the open water with it… loving the learning experience tho!
@@SailorJasonTaylor it always takes twice as long and costs three times as much as you originally think!

Thanks! It drove me nuts trying to find review videos that showed half of the important details.
I have a 22 I really like the room in there. Also the lay out is pretty cool.
its been the perfect single-hand overnighter so far!
We got an oday 222 not to many vids out there but a lot of the 80’s oday boat are really nice
I had a 1984 26 ft . It was a great boat.
Skylight is the term that was at the tip of your tongue. And a marine toilet on a 22'. That's a gift. Nothing to balk at.
Certainly uncommon, but it was beyond saving and unnecessary on my small lake. A composting or camping toilet was more sensible.
Cigarette lighter is probably also 12v plug which could come in handy for any 12v kit you might want to hook up one day!
I have since learned much more about towel hangers and 12v ports! In my typical fashion, I fail my way to knowledge.
@@SailorJasonTaylor I'm the same way!

I have new to me 1988 240,and am at about the same stage of getting it sailing
its a fun boat, for sure! though i may install some firmer lifelines on mine lol
I thought they stopped making sailboats in 84!
may as well have! everything I find past 1979 is a flimsy toy made for speed. Searching for a full-keel boat for the season as we speak.
1984 It might have been the last year of the 25.
Where ya been?
