Finally a tutorial I can follow. Your video is so easy to understand. And I have watched quite a few. I'm a weird body shape and find it hard to get a pattern that fits and is comfy. So today is the day I hope to make a skirt that will work. Looking forward to watching many more from you.

I want to attempt to make my first pattern. I have a couple of questions.
What is the reason you use 3 1/2” specifically to the dart? Is that for all sizes or is it calculated on a percentage of the waist measurement?
Do the measurements include the “ease” as the 1” of the waist and the hip that you added and is it the same for all sizes.
The last thing is, I want to add a facing to the waist instead of a waist band. Do I just cut out pieces that are identical to the sewn waist to sew onto it? Has the seam allowance been already been added to the waist to accommodate for the facing or a waist band?

3 1/2 - 4 inches is standard dart length. Yes 1 inch is the ease. For the facing just trace out the top 2 inches but you will close off the darts. No seam allowances are not yet included. Just be sure to test out the patterns use cheap fabrics flat patterns needs to be fine tuned, especially if you have curves.

Darts can be any length or width it shape the garments. These darts are basic and simple, in couture clothes they uses so many types of darts for a perfect fit.
Do you have a tutorial for drafting pants with flat front, elastic back waistband. No pockets, straight legs and specifically Non stretch fabric, because I will use linen. If you have something like this already please let me know thank you so much.
I don’t have pants pattern yet but I will add it to my lesson plan. I have a tutorials on how to sew flat waistband with elastic at the back on a skirt tho.
Dear, It is amazing, however, I do not understand and have no explanation of what you do with a shorter font side which is shorter than the back on the side. Could you explain pls? Also, do you have a video of how you sew this?
This is a video where I used the skirt patterns. ruclips.net/video/SFjZtQjyRts/видео.html The reason why the front is a tad shorter than the back is because the backside has curve. Once you piece the panels along the side seams it still should match up. Don't forget to test your pattern pieces first before cutting to your nice fabric.
