For your next monthly testing, can you do it at night like last September? It would look really cool especially on these new lights! BEST RUclipsR EVER!!!

Possibly I always need the house to be empty when I do the testing so it is tough to find a time especially at night

it would be cool if there was an emergency light that only turned on if it loses power AND its dark in the room. that way its saving battery by only turning on if its dark enough to need any light. could also add a motion sensor so its not wasting battery when nobody is in the room. does this exist?

    • @nics-systems-electric

Not that I know of unless it's a configuration that is sometimes done when lighting control systems are used with large inverters but usually during emergency mode it will override all controls anyways

Getting emergency lighting where needed is great as it makes exits routes better to navigate with out things in the way for faster exits

I would recommend putting some fire caulk around the penetration to the garage since that is likely a firewall.

it is interesting to see the canadian way of doing this as in the UK we tend to use bulkhead style fittings that are under 10 to 15 pounds how much do these usually cost

Nic I agree with you. Not using a box with it this time. Is OK because of the low voltage.
After all when you move out you can easily remove them and patch the drywall.
But for everyone else who watches Nic's videos. In Canada and the USA. Emergency lighting, and power head lighting needs to be in an electrical box. Especially in a commercial business environment.
So everyone find out your National Electrical Codes. In your area. And follow the code books.
