What are some good laser options for a Stinger, and what should I keep in mind?

  • Lasers are popular aiming options for repeating crossbows. But it can be hard to make a decision with the many options on the market. I take a look at four that are compatible with Steambow Stingers and point out their strengths and weaknesses. And show how they perform at close and far pistol crossbow distances. How much output do I need? What color should I choose? How cheap can I go?

    Informative video as always.
I would be interested in seeing you review and discuss the EK Archery Adder and comparing it to the Vlad and Stinger 2 if you ever pick one up. I'm sure you could provide some good info in the same manner as your Stinger modification videos.

Yes, I hope to finally get to testing and comparing several additional crossbows.

I've got a cheap Pico laser, this will probably happen to mine. Might be an option to pot it in resin. Good call!

With zeroing an off centre (windage) device I would zero it to the amount it is off set by. So if offset by 2 inches off set the impact target by 2 inches. Reason being is if the distance moves your bolts trajectory will look like this |/|. If you are already having to shift aim for drop this is just another variable.

Yes, this is also what I do with any sighting device that is off center from the bore axis or string, great advice!

Which mounting plate did you use for the Fenix GL22? I had trouble mounting it to the rail with the GL22 block attached, but I couldn't zero it properly without the block attached???

I have the "GL" block screwed in and had no trouble mounting. I think you really need the block because the laser will shift on the rail otherwise.

@@fletchedevolution I didn't have an issue with mounting, but it really seemed to affect the zeroing. The up/down adjustment was completely useless.
      Thanks
