Times have changed a lot. Much harder to get government jobs back then and better benefits today. I have worked for the airlines for the last 27 years, and it is much harder to get an airport ID badge than a military ID in terms of security screening. They go back to your 16th birthday. It's ridiculous. I can get on base with my veteran health id card with my service connection. But airport security id is ridiculous.
