- Part 1 of 3. From year 1988, made by " RC Video Magazine ". This item is ex - VHS .This was "Shot in the summer of '88, in Colorado and California by RC Video Mag, headed up by a guy named Ken Wells. Producer/editor was Joe Megura, who still lives in Boulder. My on-camera stuff was shot at Bandemere Speedway west of Denver, and Blake's Auto salvage, CO. Had a ball writing it (coming up with 10-15different ways to say model car), The junk yard remote vs. radio control scene is waaay cool.", said RUclips member TG Lewis. "Hey, Tom! Robert (Bob) here. I enjoyed working with you on this project. I think we came up with a good product, and had mad fun in the process." said RUclips member TheRobertb8. "I had the great pleasure of working on the production of this program with R/C Video Magazine, way back in the day. Shot on 3/4", BetacamSP, and 16mm film" said RUclips member gigantor888.
I had this on VHS when I was a kid. This is what dreams were made of.
Rad Maxx here (the guy with the eyebrows):
Glad people liked the video...Shot in the summer of '88, in Colorado and California by RC Video Mag, headed up by a guy named Ken Wells. Producer/editor was Joe Megura, who still lives in Boulder. My on-camera stuff was shot at Bandemere Speedway west of Denver, and Blake's Auto salvage, CO.

AWESOME UPLOAD! Look how far we've come in the hobby! Yet a lot is still the same!
It is the same only marketing and costs have changed sadly
And I thought I was the only one with this video that watched it religiously!
I had this VHS when I was 5. Watched it all the time.
Thanks for the video! I Still have this tape in VHS! It was how i got started in R/C in the early 90's!
Gotta love the 80's lol. Radical!
OUTSTANDING! My neighbor had this on VHS. He and I were in direct competition(1/10 electric) on the track in Northwest Indiana. Got to go to the Chicago Model/Hobby show 3 years in a row(89, 90, 91). It was so cool to meet the guys we only read about in the magazines.
Thanks for a great memory!
Yup used to watch over and over. Actually done well with music. 80’s and 90’s were cool.
man i remember that Raco Grand National. I wanted that beast so bad! Awesome!
I always lusted after the Jack Rabbit. I used to always ask the owner of the Hobby Shop how fast it went. He never would answer me. Now that I'm older and have a Baja 5T converted to brushless, I realize it was because those things were heavy and slow.
I still want one BTW.
I used to have a Magnum Jr. & Airtronics pistol grip radio like that back in the day. Nostalgic!
I use to race at ranch pit shop.I dont know if its still around nowadays. That was ten years ago for me now.thx for the video.I used to have this tape too.Pretty funny.
Bolink! OMG a name I haven't heard in years!

The guy running with the smoke machine must be knackered!! still it is a "NICE DAY TO DRIVE"

Whoa......that dude acts exactly like Jim Carrey's character in Ace Ventura!! Mind blowing.. XD
That dude said "Need for Speed" in 1988. He was way ahead of his time.
