Extra bonus the bloodhound step can also be used to travel through lava, poison/rot lakes at a significantly faster pace
I’m pretty sure this exposes you more because you get lower in the lava/rot similar to when you do a roll. I have tested sprinting and using this and it usually ends up the same. This does work very well when trying to dodge balls and chariots though
@@FlowSwitchMusic I meant more for the areas it doesn't allow sprint
I found this out when I was trying to get threw the rot ponds when u try and get the golden scarab it worked wonders
A better method is to look at the opposite direction you want to go, and quickstep backwards. This works with every setup and no ash of war is needed.

thanks mate this guy is so annoying

Thanks bro
I recently started using bloodhound step on my golem Halberd and it's the funnest thing ever to be able to move that efficiently with a colossal weapon
That is the exact plan for my new character.
He's named Thor Panzerkraft, but the gimmick is that the best way to tank is to just not be there for the hits.
Aye, just wish my forward it with my "greatsword" wasnt a poke lol.
@@celphalonred1999 use a jump attack. i use bloodhound step with my dual wield greatswords and build to maximize my jump attacks. it's pretty great.
@@celphalonred1999 What??! Dude if you're talking about colossal sword Greatsword you're out of your mind. The crouch poke/rolling poke/bloodhounds step forward poke is literally the fastest move colossal swords have. It's absolutely crazy in pvp and can roll catch people over and over. Seriously try bloodhounds step poke into crouch poke and keep crouching and poking when you see them try to panic roll away. It absolutely vortexes people.
@@andrewmiddleton3487 ruclips.net/video/MGR9rUKMy8E/видео.html
For reference on how amazing bloodhound step poke is on colossal swords.
me and some buddys found out the phalinx spells or glintblade spells that hover around you track to invisable enemies and will help kill those invis scarabs easy
I wish I saw this yesterday lol I was spamming carion gs to hit this invisible boss and it got ugly
@@jazzyjeremy93 A 'weapon' called Sentry's Torch is better for this kinda thing. It has a passive when equipped that reveals invisible enemies. That way you can also use better Ashes of War. If you have trouble with the Scarabs just using an AoE Ash of War like Gravitas and it becomes pretty trivial.
@@cinder8926 good tip I have some of these already!
That's good to know. I'll keep that in mind. I don't have a magic build though.
So far, along with Hoarfrost Stomp, my favorite has been Thunderbolt. Channel your inner Nameless King and call down rapid fire lightning against your foes. In addition to that, it can grant your weapon lightning or holy damage, making it fantastic for those annoying enemies like Claymen who take little physical damage and resist fire. It can be found a little northwest of the Avenue Balcony site of grace in the capitol in an absolutely chonky scarab. Something unique and beneficial is that you can apply this to, say, the Vulgar Militia Saw, which scales with strength and dexterity, to have a bleed and lightning halberd, and as the Ash scales off the weapon's scaling bonuses, you can effectively build a lightning caster without even needing to invest in Faith. Its range, speed and accuracy are fantastic, and you can spam the button to fire bolts in rapid succession. With an FP cost of only 10 (8 with the Carian Filigreed Crest), it's also very cheap to use. It works great for almost every enemy type I've encountered, from flying foes to bosses to invaders not prepared for such an onslaught.
Just best the game, hosrfrost stomp isn't even just an early game thing, pretty much no bosses have frost resistance and normally you can't proc frostbite back to back but if you hit them with bleed or any other status effect you can proc frostbite again
It does huge damage to the later bosses
Does the torch trick still work? It was completely broken in Dark Souls 3 because you frosted, then poked with a torch and could frost again.
I have hoarfrost stomp on my katanas so I will frost them, bleed them, frost them again etc all the time they take increased damage
@@murderous1823 which katanas
@@wc2195 uchigatana
@@wc2195 yeah if you put it on a bleed weapon you get the skill + bleed so duping the ash and putting it on a katana or claws is crazy
You can kite the bloodhound step boss up the hill over the poison and he'll die as he chases you. You can literally do that from the beginning as a brand new character it's so easy. Great video, thank you!
7:16 easy way to kill this boss and get the Bloodhound Step is to lead him north through the poison mines which eventually kill him pretty quickly
But that would be wrong 😇
So I tried this multiple times yesterday, and he followed me all the way to the top… just to run back to bridge. Every time. Still taking poison damage. He just wouldn’t die.
@@LickyMyNippy cuz they fixed it
Even easier is to lead it off the south side of the bridge then stand on the outside lip of the western side of the bridge.
The nightknight just runs off the edge trying to reach you.
@@Medic112 it worked yesterday
I’ve been playing with Bloodhounds Step for 4 days & it’s the best for me. Makes everything look better, makes dodging easier & you can wear a fat armor set & not fat roll. OP
Yeah it’s so fucking good and u can catch up or all the running mages
@@2s4in28 Preceptor Miriam makes me want to break my fucking controller. Infinite stamina, one shot arrow from across the arena, teleport while casting, and she runs when you're getting the best of her if you do manage to catch up to her . I love this game, but some encounters are bullshit..

@Máximo Dubs the Golden scarab that is invisible. He isn't running around. I don't have the frost skill. So I know I definitely did not kill him at the lake yet.
One of the most important aspects of BH step is that you can now dodge without consuming stamina. This allows you to increase the tempo of the Fight as you attack more often with a split second evasion/gap closer. Its miniscule FP cost is icing on the cake.
Bloodhound step and quick step also will move you normally through slowing environments like lava. Always have a weapon with it on you to switch to when you need it.
Am i not getting something? BH step does consume stamina
@@heibk-2019 he mean the drain is so miniscule that it don't really exist
@@Mastermonkay it consumes a lot...
How did you get top comment? The roll clearly uses stamina. And rolling stamina cost was marginal to begin with in Elden Ring. I guess noobs can just roll back twice with the ash of war side step and regen stamina safely, but it is not a toll for longer combos.
You never miss😤 appreciate this highly!!!!
A tip for anyone having trouble with the invisible scarabs, if you have access and the ability to use night maiden's mist it kills it instantly when it goes through it.
Useful, thank you.
Very cool I've been trying to collect everything and I'm so excited to see there is just so much more lol
Golden Land ashes of war for Strike type weapons.
Does really good damage, gives some hyper armor and is very useful for PvP even if you do land the follow up swing.
Plunge weapon into the ground and it does an AoE explosion, followed by 5 gold orbs that shoot at any targeted enemy when you started the attack.
Follow up swing is an sweeping uppercut, which will knock humanoid enemies to the floor where they will be helpless to dodge the gold orb projectiles.
Basically the minor Erdtree guardian attack.
Find it at Deeproot Basin first lost grace site. Minor Erdtree guardian the left and then two large ants guarding a beetle that has the ashes of war.
Appreciate your effort 👌🏽
Can confirm Hoarfrost stomp is busted for a good majority of the game. Most enemies just don’t have any frost resistance so it just wrecks them.
Mist is also busted. Gives massive cold buildup and the art enchants your weapons for a bit t ogive it even more frost buildup. We are talking one or two hits frosts the majority of enemies including mini-bosses. Really it is just frostbite that is OP. Anything that has it becomes instantly better. I used cold on my strength build. The hit to scaling was worth it for the frostbite. Frost+Bleed is just easy mode for melee builds.
@@ShiningDarknes How well do you think it would work on the twin crucible knights?
@@pjblessing4489 It worked well on the many times you fight just one so I imagine it would work on 2. That fight is easier if you use a spirit to hold agro of one while you fight the other.
This one would have helped my invisible assassin mini boss fight so much. That boss back stab insta killed me SO many times. Finally I just started using bloody slash while spinning in a circle until he died...invisi enemies I can't lock onto make me mad 😂
@@kennylaysh2776 just watch the water lol. It baffles me how many people miss that detail. It is like the Friede fight when she goes invisible you can see her foot impacts, yeah that but water.
Bloodhound dash on the greatsword is amazing. It does a quick poke at the end and is really useful with frost on it
Actually pretty fun binging these older videos of powerful weapons, spells and AoW and seeing just how many have been nerfed.
Thank you for the video. I am a collector of sorts so this is appreciated.
Used to watch your minecraft buildoffs, so great to rediscover the channel under these circumstances 🤘
I love your genuine enthusiasm 😂 can hear it in your tone.
Thanks for the video! Mind if I ask what armor you’re using at the beginning? Particularly the chest piece with the cool cape?
Thank you! Loving the ice one, omg its nasty lol
My favorite is Bloodhound step just for the "rush" feeling.. didn't knew it was a more effective dodge than the dodge roll lol 👍🏻
The invisible scarabs usually die in like 1 hit most the time, i found a really effective means of getting it is standing in its path and using the Spinning Chain ability of the flail weapons. makes killing them really easy.
You can also use fires divine sin and just stand beside them, they even die in one hit to the burn.
I currently have a double Katana Seppuku build where I use the occult version with full Arcane. I also have the White mask, and the Blood Lord charm (don't remember exact name) the weapon damage goes from 300 to almost 500, and I proc bleed on the 1st Left bumper and every-other one from then on.
Thanks a bunch man, I'm using a Tank build with greatshield and bleed spear, but with spear its hard to deal with a bunch of mobs and rats, now with the Frost Ash i can actually deal with the little big groups
That bloodhound step reminds me of a blink ability and it deadass is the coolest thing they could have added into a game like this.
Definitely just subscribed because of your outro
One of the best things about the Froststomp, is that it makes your weapon also prox frost damage if you do the cold damage. Meaning if you run out of magic your weapon will still prox cold. It takes 3 - 2 hits. Amazing
No what makes you do cold is using selecting the cold enchantment when you applied the ash of war.
@@Flowilty While it was slightly poor word choice, he said exactly what you said.
issue with the stomp: sometimes the wave of ice... just doesnt happen depending on where you casted it. Many a boss fight were lost and would have been won if only it worked consistantly
Yeah I've been hearing it both praised and condemned as being overpowered but it's actually pretty flawed. Its success seems to depend on terrain, like anything less than a completely flat surface and it might decide to just not work.
Oooh, my old Dark souls 2 ability, loved it with that katana.
Tip: the hound step mini boss, agro him and make him follow you up the hill through the poison traps, stay 3 paces ahead of him, when you get to the top of the hill he auto dies for some reason and it's an easy win. No hit knock out.
Check out the holy land ash of war. I put it on my Zheihander. It’s amazing and so fun to use. It’s a great addition to a slow weapon and could even be used as a ranged spell with the golden darts it spawns
Those invisible scarab used Godskin peel black flame tornado work everytime
I really have to check out more Ashes on my second character. I'm currently stuck on using the Blasphemous Blade and its pretty OP Weapon Art.^^
I thinks it's the best weapon for mimic tear as well. I'm sure double bleed daggers are technically better, but not nearly as awesome a explosive heals.
i'll give a personal shoutout to Flame of the Redmanes, a cone aoe like hoarfrost stomp but trades a little bit of damage for absolutely ridiculous stagger power (i've been staggering lategame bosses with just three hits from it and no other attacks)
Another good ash of war I found is phantom rush, you can get it from a night Calvary. The ability does a lot of damage with little to no fp cost. I currently have 10 mind and can use the full combo 5 times
As far as suppuku you can also use a charm or armor that gives increased attack power when near bloodloss as using the weapon art causes a dumbed down bleedloss effect that does count towards the buff
I got the frost stomp fairly late as I didn't figure out the invisible scarabs for awhile and damn it's good.
i ran a claymore with lion's claw my first run of elden ring and it was so good because of the the poise damage and also because it travels forward with a low hurtbox. this led to some janky stuff where i could go unpunished against some bosses moves by using this to attack
Man you saved my game after I was struggling at milenia I looked for the blood katana but I already killed the fire giant so I upgraded the Normal katana and now whit the ash of war it is op
I’m RPing as Bojji from Ranking of Kings and BH step is a must have
I killed the final boss with hoarfrost stomp and its literally melted every boss since i’ve found it, added it to my plus 25+ nagakiba, bleed damage plus the 75 frost damage
Seppuku is also really good with weapons that attack fast like a double blade
Lions claw also staggers in 2 if used with the right weapon, thats a huge bonus for me
Bloodhounds step also on Bloodhounds claw found from a hard enemy at Volcano Manor, past hidden wall on first room on the right
The hoarfrost stomp was the most popular dance back in my day
Oh that thing was a scarab, I was worried it was some sort of boss in hiding but glad I watched this video I now have the frost stomp lol
That bleed resistance that occurs after you've inflicted bleed is only taking effect because of how quickly you hit the dragon after already applying bleed. Basically once you apply bleed, you have to allow the bleed bar to reset otherwise it will take an extra attack to proc
Yo. I was using the stomp and didn't even look at any guides yet, having it on a grave scythe and took me to endgame killing so many weapons and is broken on the scythe with bleed damage and frost, if yall want to try it it's a great early game weapon that will take you far, for anyone that try it enjoy that beauty
Lord of Blood's Exultation works really well with seppuku ash of war. because its boost damage when theres a blood loss nearby including on yourself
I got that hatchet so early in the game and didn’t have the stats to wield it. It looked so cool though so I stowed it in my chest. I can’t believe I’ve slept on it for so long.
I feel like its worth mentioning that seppuku triggers the lord of bloods exultation giving not only the seppuku buff but also the damage buff of lor of bloods
going full havel with the quickstep and guts sword sounds extremely fun
For me I want to get sonic boom & bleed yourself & lightning rolling technique too for my boss fight because it’s very effective
Great Video! Weapon Arts in this game are so cool.
Does anyone know what armor he is using with the Greatsword? Need my Fashion Souls :P
that lightin goat 🤣🤣🤣🤣 im definitly going to do playthrough just using tht. looks way too much fun
I’ll have to try Sepukku on my Antspur Rapier, currently using Antspur quality with blood slash (combo’d with mimic tear - scarlet rot chews most bosses to dust)
Tried a bleed build on it (@17 it gets bleed +70) but it still wasn't proccing enough
The blood step or whatever it's called. Quite OP actually when used with the sword of night and flame. Use it to run away like a chicken real quick, switch to SONAF. Blast enemy with jizz ray. Switch back to blood step weapon. Run away. Rinse and repeat. It's much better than a normal roll. Sure it uses magic but it HARDLY uses magic. Quite handy tool.
I'm running high Dex with the Great Stars And keen...Using the bloodhound step makes it juicy in dungeons! I just use the faith magic to give it bloodflame or lightning..Hot tip: i use the tear for my psysick that gives zero FP usage so i can spam the bloodhound step like a madman mwahaha
How is the damage of arts being scaled? Solely by the weapons and weapon scaling stats? Or stuff like frost step scales with magic damage?
Not an ash of war, but I found Death's Poker last night. It's considered a great sword, but looks more like a shepherd's staff. It's ability is called the ghost flame... ignition? Or something like that. Use LT/L2 then immediately press either RT/R2 or RB/R1. One does an explosion with big damage and the other does a flame trail on the ground that just melts bosses. You find it in Calid. At the east, past the rotten dragon. The hill side looks like a skull. At night, there will be a mini boss. Looks like a giant raven, but has a human's head.
Bloodhounds fang with bloodhounds finesse is a pretty nice combo weapon.
They say that Lion's Claw is the Gut's flip (Whatever that is,) but for me, all I can imagine for it is Artorias' flip strike from Dark Souls.
The ninja ashes, u can kill the knight piking him to the road with venon traps, he dies fast. And the bloody one, u cab use in 2 weapons(first the second one on 2h mode, them chage to dual and do it with the main hand, u get both....OP)
Yeah the Snow flip looked kool but yeah I like this Lions claw!
Way more accurate!
Flame of the Redmanes deserves to be on here. It devestates poise, which can trivialize big enemies and bosses
Seppuku is so op, if your using dual katanas you can apply the effect to both weapons and if you choose the blood affinity, pretty much every hit or other hit causes blood loss. Melts health easily
Bloodhound step is the ash of war I used to defeat bosses that were WAY more powerful than I was. Looking up the recommended level to fight each boss I was always significantly lower than the bosses. So i would use this ash of war on the most powerful weapon I had at the time in my right hand and then a staff in my left and I would zip around whittling them down. Worked very well once you learned how to use it efficiently. Knowing when to target and in target your enemy because it changes the way your character moves when you are targeting them. There are many instances where you need to unselect your target so you can evade correctly. Or else you will be sort of chained to your enemy and certain evading moves are more difficult to do.
My secret is out 😢 lol great vid it really is op!
He doesn't explain it in the video but when going for bloodhound step you can lead the boss up the hill of poison traps right next to it, to kill it without even hitting it.
Does anyone know what armor is he using? LOVED IT, it is what I am searching for my build
i'm working out how to have a quality/keen frost/ bleed teir 1 build.... i see true potential in that combo...
Hoarfrost stomp is nasty, does a number on enemies when it spawns under them, and then when it explodes. Frost also works on a number of enemies that bleed won't, like Erdtree Avatars.
Bleed works wonder on Erdteee Avatars
What is the sword right in the first few seconds of the video? Looks like the GS but with cooler handle and some better textures
The weapon you are holing in the last scene looks nice, what is it?
Further with the bloodhound step nights cacalry, if you get it to chase you on torrent and you lead it through the poison traps up the hill and keep going till it de-aggros, it'll instantly die.
BH step is literally "*teleports behind you* nothing personnel kid" and I can't stress enough how much I love this
Wild strikes grants a small amount of poise and hyper armor, throw it on the morning star and profit.
Seppuku on the naginata is busted, that range with that attack speed plus the moveset is almost entirely slash moves
Been using Oath of Vengeance on the Collosal Grafted Greatsword
A great way of getting the invisible beetles is by using the ancestral infants head spread it in the path and boom
dual wield two maxed Seppuku Uchigatana. Each one has 117 blood damage buildup. Procs bleed in about 2-3 hits
Corpse Piler from Rivers of Blood is insane with Millicent’s Prosthesis Talisman
Rage have you seen the ash of war poison that you could add to your sword or any item that you're using I guess try that one
Hoarfrost has so far carried me through the game, had it since the beginning and it’s so broken. Destroys bosses like nothing
Bro I cheesed the back half of the game with a fully leveled Mimic Tear and this thing on my 25+ Uchi. Stunlock until you're out of FP, then start slashing to build blood loss while your Summon takes aggro. EZ
its so hilarious how you can chain it and it uses very little fp
What chest armor are you wearing in this vid? Looks good
Quick tip, to kill the dark night for the quick step, agro him and run up that hill and trigger the poison traps, this kills him somehow or the Vulgar Infantry engage and kill him. Either way, a quick tip to get it at a low level.
What helmet is that if you don't mind me asking please, comma and is that the hair that's coming out from the helmet or is that something different
Black flame tornado is also awesome
Wow!!! I feel like an idiot! I’ve had the bloodhound step this whole time and never knew what it did. I’m using that right away!!! The electric roll is something I may get also.
when i take hoarfrost stomp, on a strength build, should i take heavy or cold when i want to put on the ash of war onto my greatsword?
I'm using the Moonveil ash of war at the minute, it's pretty good. The one on the Night and Flame sword (I might have the name slightly wrong. it's the INT/Faith sword though)has to be the most busted. It has 2 attacks, one is that giant beam magic spell and the other is a big fire AoE. Even without building especially for this ash of war, it's already really strong. If you get the right spells to use with it though, it becomes god-like.
Yeah I was using moonveil for a while. I had N&F but didn't have the faith. Levelled it up and it's outrageously overpowered.
What Armor set are you wearing at the end of the video?
What does that stomp ash scale with? How do you get it to do more damage
The dragon did not get resistance to bleed. You missed the fourth hit and there is an invisible timer that runs down with status effects for enemies like the player although it is significantly faster.
Best thing about the bloodhounds step is that it looks cool, it actually feels like you’re becoming a “god” I guess, all I’ve ever wanted from souls games is the feeling of becoming OP.
I initially thought that you collect elden ring pieces and unlock abilities, I guess I was bummed when I saw that was not that case lol.
You do though. The "Great Runes" ARE bits of the Elden Ring. Unfortunately Godrick's is the first one most get and it is the best. Probably should have swapped Rahdamn and Godrick. Rahdan, a strong contender for the title of hardest boss in the game, gives a rune that is inferior in every way to Godrick's.
