He did not seek for attention or fame, and always humble with a warm smile on his face.
love him so much and forever!
I miss Bruce so damn much! He died on MY 10th bday (07201973)! Even as a child, I didn't know of his passing at that age until I reached the age of understanding! On the 20th of this month, Bruce would have been DECEASED now for 47 years!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏⚰️😞😭😭😭😭😡😢😥😭
And there he stood looking cool, the legend
The legend is at 0:10, 3:00 & 4:30 receiving the grand championship; MIKE WARREN.
Kinghercules bruce lee killed mike warren in a match did you not know? Mike warren even said bruce lee was better than him
What a Great Momento to have of Bruce. Thanks for Sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing this video!!! My father was at tournament and I about fell on the floor when I saw him in the video! I remember him talking about the time he met Bruce Lee and Joe Lewis, and I still have the program from the event! This is incredible!
Thanks very much for sharing! It is indeed a rare footage of the one and only Bruce Lee
HONOUR AND ETERNAL GLORY TO THE GREAT SIFU BRUCE LEE.
It's refreshing to see a video that actually delivers. So many times you see other videos purporting to show 'previously unseen', 'rare footage' of Bruce Lee and if you're lucky they just contain a photograph. This one is the real deal for once.
Thank you Mr.Bruce Lee for being apart of our lives and we will carry you in our heart until the end of us but you will live in our kids lives and it will go on and yes I’m 53 years of age ,love and miss you Sir.
The man Changed the world . If people was to think the way he did they would realise we are all the same. And realise our cups have been empty for decades...
So so true
Thank you Tom! Magical times
Many thanks for sharing this rare video !
Wow thank you for showing this footage never before seen.
...saw some key people in the audience. Lee was assisting an injured competitor during time out. Nice touch. Ed Parker seated next to him in sunglasses. Ron van Clief also present. This is nice to see many of the men who influenced us in their prime.
Thx for clearing that up about Ed Parker, it was starting to drive me nuts, with the shades I wasn't sure.
Looks like Leo Fong in a suit ... 3 down from Bruce at :14 but its so grainy that I can't tell. I see a lot of the old guys whom I recognize and some who trained under including Leo Fong and Ron Marchini. Jhoon Rhee and his associates were HUGE in the 70's. I never met Bruce personally but saw him at a competition in Oakland when I was young.
Are you sure about Ed Parker? It looks an awful lot like Roman Polanski too..
not parker, it looks like danny pai two seats down though
Wow! I was there!
Thank you for this collection love you😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank You for sharing this.
Wow.. Extremely rare! Thanks for sharing!!

Wonder how much ‘rare and unseen’ footage is out there? There seems to be more coming out as years go by...👍🏾
Most is usually cut from other footage that is not new. But I have never seen this one.
RIP Grandmaster Rhee
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The greatest Taekwondo Grandmaster Rhee !
Look at Bruce all cool and laid back, that was so nice of him to check on the man who was hurt. At the end he didnt seem like u wanted the camera in his face., or he was signing autographs, it was the face he made on chinese connection and fist of fury.😁😘 Lolol. But it was a nice close up of him when he isnt acting.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤😍
U love him too cool
Wow!!
Definitely rare!!
Thanks for the upload.
Ooh very nice and cool video. Thank you
I was there. 6yrs old but don’t remember Bruce.
You worried bout the wrong Bruce 😐
extremely rare. thanks
BRUCE LEE, THE REAL SUPERMAN.
So rare amazing Footage
If bruce was still with us hed be the most interviewed person ever and on most talk shows traveling the world maybe promote his movies etc
Death makes people more famous.
Julius Caesar, Elvis Presley, Bruce Lee - none would be as famous had they lived to old age.
@@michaeltrumph121 Even if the Dragon would be alive today, he still be as big a legend as he is dead. Example, Alí, Jordan , etc.
Could not agree more! When did you first become a Bruce Lee fan and how were you introduced to him?
You are so right! When did you first become a Bruce Lee fan and how were you introduced to him? Do you collect Bruce Lee memorabilia as well?
Thank you all for your Like, comments, views and share :)

I think this is not karate but Taekwondo .
Rhee is Korean Taekwondo Grandmaster.
Also you can see at 5:03 Korea national flag .
Please check it out and fix it. Thanks.
Yup any vid or pix would be considered treasure by many..
Thanks
Very rare indeed. Thanks
You only see Bruce Lee very briefly. Also if you look closely, Ron Van Cleef was there also.
Yes that is him! I grew up seeing Ron Van Cleef around my neighborhood in the 70's growing up as a kid in NYC!How long you been a Bruce Lee fan?
Who is this fuck ron van cleef
So cool to see
Jhoon Rhee in Black Belt Magazine ( decades ago) stated that when he taught Bruce Lee his plethora of super kicks , Bruce would come only after all the evening sessions in the Dojo is finished thus they would end up till midnight. Jhoon Rhee is one truly humble and polite who wowed the USA.
Jhoon Rhee had periods of doubt and depression.
His 'brother', Bruce,
would write letters of encouragement to him to help him up.
You can read about it in the book "Letters of the Dragon".
Friendship and loyalty were important to Bruce.
Thanks for sharing . Rare stuff here !
Thank you
FYI the injured competitor is none other than Mr.Joseph Hayes may he Rest In Peace.
Joe Hayes. Incredible artist. Formidable aerial kicker. Bruce Lee held him in high regard.
1929able yes this is truly a rare footage of Joseph Hayes (may he rest in peace).
Hayes was one of the best ever. He beat Joe Lewis at the Nationals. Here, he was injured during his match with Pat Worley.
Finally an true new images of Bruce , short but does'nt mutter ... What i think about Bruce on the carpet. In my opinion he would put ko many of them becouse him never fight for fake, he punching and kicking so hard as know well Skip Mulling ....
Paolo Ciarpaglini
Think the same !
👍🏻
My Grandmaster was Duk Sung Don who was allegedly Rhees teacher also. Son told me that Rhee branched off from WTA to make WTF and created the point system for the Olympics. Son didn’t agree with going Olympic because of politics. Cool to see that I have some lineage seen here.
It is my understanding that both men were in Lee Won Kuk's first black belt class at the ChungDoKwan. Rhee went to DC., Son came to NYC along with Hyun Ok Shin, of the second black belt class who established dojang in Eastern Queens and is still based there. In late '60's I trained at a dojang in Riverdale, Bronx, NY established by Lee Kyu Soek, also of the second black belt class of the ChungDoKwan. Lee is President of the Asian Taekwon-Do Union. The politics of the ChungDoKwan and Hoi Chong Chi is legend and much about what brought Son to the USA. It was Son who gave Choi rank. Choi established the OhDoKwan and 'ran with the baton' where pre-Kikkuwon TKD was concerned. However, IMHO, Son, Rhee, Shin, and Lee were the real deal in TKD ChungDoKwan in those years. zzdoc2 wow. That’s absolutely amazing history. I tested in Master Son’s place in NYC as my instructor, Chuck Dwyer, took us all to test there or I Pookipsie where Son still taught at the middle school. Very hard, fast style.
1:47 Bruce Lee on the right side checking on hurt opponent.
Yes indeed that is him! When were you first introduced to Bruce Lee and how did you become a fan?
Bruce Lee was too fast. Play it at 10% to see anything! Probably the greatest exponent of MMA ever to walk on earth. RIP Master.
Very cool!
Cool ass rare video!!
If you are here for Bruce Lee, go to 1:48 and 5:48
Very well. Thís Golden age of the martial art in San Francisco. In a epoc Bruce Lee growing in visibility with your colegue
Bruce: a just good actor, no fighting
That good actor could have kicked your ass in seconds...stop the jelously.
Un héros .
Truly rare I believe this was the tournament that influenced Bruce to train his legs more Wing Chun is his foundation style kicks we're not high .He saw Rolly Hawkins demo at that event it changed him a bit Hawkins had beautiful kicks
Julian Sawyer
Bruce have 1965 in his demo high kicks .
For Warner Brother for the Green Hornet 🐝! ❗️
Bruce Lee needed not Chuck ( only as a dummy fighter ) !
would have been interesting to see him participating or training for this type of competition
Fast forward to 5:44 to see Bruce Lee ☯

He appeared at the end of the footage and was one of guests only.
He was at 1:47 too assisting the injured competitor!
Wayne Tam ,You're right. I rewind to the point you mentioned. Thanks for pointing it out.
IT'S SAD TO KNOW . A LOT OF THEM IN THIS VIDEO ISN'T HERE WITH US AND THOSE LITTLE BOYS ARE NOW GROWN MEN. THEN ON ONE HAND THIS WAS IN 1970. THE VIETNAM WAR WAS GOING ON..THREE YEARS LATER IT HAPPEN ON JULY 20,1973.

AND JOE Hayes was rated in the top five for more than five years. he fought and beat guys like joe Lewis bill wallece ron vanclief mike warren williamoliver and his fight with Toyotaro miyazaki are legendary.
Classic
Heureusement que le karaté à beaucoup évolué avec le temps. La discipline a Bruce Lee était avancé dans l'art du combat
Jhoon Rhee was a taekwondo person
Three seats to Bruce Lee's right, Daniel K. Pai. This is from the late sixties.
I heard that in 1972 bruce lee lost a match in a champioship in US against a german fighter, I hope to see the video

Devia ter continuado a carreira de dançarino de Tcha tcha tcha.
What ever happened to Joohn Ree ? I live in Texas not far from where his school is or was .
I met Bruce at Rhee's 68 DC Invitationals. Anybody have video of that? Steve E in Md
Do you want to tell me about your meeting with Bruce in '68? Contact me in PV or on my facebook page fb.collectionbrucelee.com
Thank you Steve E :)
Must of been great! I was too young to go at 6 . But older brother was there.
This was when there was greater unity within the Karate world, to where even Taekwondo was considered what it truly is: KARATE. Korean Karate; but Karate, nevertheless. The old school martial artists realized this.
..
@Steven Young Man FUCK YOU. I am giving out true, verifiable history, whereas all you can do is give me contemporary viewpoints because you lack a point of reference.
Ver o Bruce lee lutar de verdade nada ne kkk
The Audio voices are missing.
Yes
I'm so sad why he dies so fast
The guy on right, from 3:00 to 3:06, looks & kicks like Mike Warren. Wish there was more sparring footage of him
Me too. But look up 'Genova family' karate on youtube, looks like Warren fighting in an open tournament, some big names, Smith, Wallace, so reckon around 72, 73. Btw, are you 'the' Bob Burbage ? , if so, much respect sir.
That's another Mike I wish there was more footage on: Mike Genova. A brilliant fighter who understood the game at least as well as anyone. His matches were master classes in point fighting. A charismatic trainer of champions as well.
It looks like Chuck Norris sitting next to Bruce Lee. Maybe they were talking about Way of the Dragon..?
This was 1970 Bruce Lee was still in the US he didn't go back to Hong to make movies until 1971.So how they talking about Way of the Dragon? AND that wasn't Chuck Norris smh.
Wo findet man ein Video ,.daß Bruce Lee im richtigen Wettkampf zeigt?
Bruce Lee ko award ki jarurat nahin hai bahut award hai

Had Bruce got his back injury at this point?
i think i saw Jackson 5 in there momentarily
What?

李小龙先生永垂不朽
Incredible rare as!! Who is the guy bruce is sitting next too?? With glasses
Lee's handler, Ed "the connection" Parker
@Lolo Haole Hmm...Ok, Enlighten us. Whose behind door number 1?
@Lolo Haole your point ?...
Bruce Lee 1:48, 5:43
That's why Bruce Lee didn't fight because Skipper was there 😎😁.
Must have been right before he flew to HK then Thailand to make The Big Boss
Any idea as to which part of 1970, Bruce sustained his back injury?
He did not sustain his back injury in a tournament. He injured it while lifting weights at home. It was right around the time Green Hornet was cancelled.
@@joeygonzo Thanks, but I know it was a lifting injury. I was asking when in 1970 he sustained the back injury, as this footage is also from 1970?
Ah. Had to be after this tournament then b/c he was bedridden for a while. I can't believe he did the Big Boss shortly thereafter.
@@joeygonzo I've often wondered what that period when he had his back injury, was like for him & Linda. Has she ever written about their short, yet eventful, life together? Perhaps this footage is not actually 1970? Either way, it is indeed miraculous that he regained such mobility after what is described as a serious injury. I think Linda might now feel she can write about their life together following the recent book by Matthew Polly. Have you read the recent book?
Where is bruce
1:17 and 5:42, this is rare indeed!
It was 1:47 not 1:17
And Lee not participating in these touchbutt point fighting tournaments is why people say he wasn't a real fighter. Ignore his ahead of it's time jkd
At that time Kung Fu was not permitted at the tournaments. It wasn't until some years after those point fighting tournaments that Kung Fu was allowed and even then it was limited in what the practitioner was allowed to do. At that time only demonstrations of Kung Fu were permitted. All that Bruce Lee did was demonstrations. I have a cousin who fought in those tournaments so I'm rather familiar with what went on.
He died cause he had his arm pit glands surgically removed cause he thought sweaty pitts looked bad on film...and it cause what happened to him ...look it up.
