Their bass player is fucking good.
♥ MISA!
Yes. Someone who appreciates bluesy rock and the heaviness at the same time. Thank you, sir!
My pleasure they are an awesome band with a great sound!
The Maids played Manners when they opened for Guns N'Roses last month and Saiki the lead singer killed it in front of a huge crowd.
She belted it out like her life depended on it, awesome performance
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!! "Manners" Groove Rock "Black Hole" Prog Punk
They are indeed phenomenal. They can and do play any and all genres - sometimes in the same song! Examples include Moratorium and No God for the latter. They also do gorgeous ballads and power ballads. And after 60 or 70 songs, you'll realize that none of them sucked and you still have 50 or more to go (which also won't suck). My personal opinion is that as good as they are as players, their ability to write SO MANY great songs and never miss is borderline inhuman.
They have a great sound I really enjoy and wish we had more of in the states
@@TheKillogicEffect You got that right!! We have a lot of cool indie bands, and yes we have metal bands, but I just haven't found any with the virtuosity and creativity of these ladies.
'You hear the Band-Maid sound but each track can be totally different from the last.'
You are going to get a lot of that with these women.
They flat out rock.
amen!
Love this video. Shows you the diversity in their compositions. It's consistent thru their 10 years together. BAND-MAID is Awesome no matter how fast or slow or high or low they go. Peace. 2.43
I have the feeling that this music is just maid (haha) for you. This video is a great display of versatility, but it is really just an appetizer. Band-Maid has this uncanny ability to take on whatever genre they want, and make it their own. When they mix several genre's in one song, it feels so natural. Their compositions is something else. You will have a lot of joy going through your Band-Maid journey.
Im really enjoying the journey with them they are an incredible rock band I wish there was more like them in the states
It's great to see another open mind. Too many in the west won't won't even listen to these great foreign bands unless they're English speaking. I'm 71 now and band Maid dragged me back to rock about 5 years ago. I have their discography and haven't collected a band's music like this for many years. I'm kind of jealous because you still have so many great surprises waiting for you. Listen to NO GOD live if you really want to hear Misa destroy the bass. Have fun.
They have an awesome rock sound I wish we had more like them in the states
@@TheKillogicEffect have you checked out Deap Vally? I like them too
Great reaction from someone who really appreciates awesome rock music! Subbed! 😎🤘
Awesome thank you! Thanks for the sub!! 🤘
agree - just subbed too
Both of these songs were on their January 2021 album *Unseen World.* They divided the album into two halves, roots and progress. *Manners* is roots and a purpose song - "this is who we are and what we do." *Black Hole* is a progress song, frantic and experimental - "hang on for dear life boys, we're going on a journey." There was an interview when the album came out and it sounded like Kanami was very stressed in the early days of Covid. She was used to spending most days with her best friends making music and suddenly she was isolated from them. It came out in her music. *Unseen World* seemed to me like the album where they really matured as band. They do not care about proving themselves, they only want to make art and play it for their fans.
In the football language, they are not Brazil for whatever they stand for, they are Croatia... great teamwork, never give up, never surrender, and always win
MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin.
Manners is my favorite Band-Maid song. It is like Kanami decided to write a song dedicated to my generation. I was a tiny bit disappointed they didn't play it at the Dallas show but only 3 or 4 venues were treated to the song. For some reason they didn't play Black Hole at all on the US tour.
I was surprised to hear you compare Saiki to the great Sass Jordan. I understand the comparison. I have been listening to Sass Jordan forever it seems like (we are pretty close to the same age). I have a definite weakness for female blues and blues rock singers.
I was actually surprised to hear the power she had to be honest very awesome stuff very impressive!!!
@@TheKillogicEffect Next time they tour the US, you need to experience the power of the whole band in person
they played both Manners & Bubble in Chicago. Really wish I could've made it to that show
@@Bekka_Noyb Dallas didn't get Bubble but we did get two Miku songs (Rock in me and Sayonakidori) since it was her birthday show. And we got the Miku SAY! towels.
@@danw6048 seen couple of fan cams. looks like was kool show
Hell yeah, what he said!😎🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
YES!! Sass Jordan. powerful singer. Man I've been trying to figure who it was she reminded me of. Thanks
Thanks for the great reaction. Couldn't agree with you more about experiencing them right up front by the stage. I would love to see your reaction to a fan cam from their recent Boston concert of Moratorium. Although its a fan cam, it has great video and audio and really captures the band going all out for the crowd and receiving the energy back from the crowd. Here's the link ruclips.net/video/Drm9z1kMChY/видео.html
oh wow, thats awesome thank you I will check that out!
That music video one of my favorite, Manners and Blackhole, my recommend for other music video Take Me Higher , Don't You Tell Me (battle guitar Kanami and Misa) and Play (intro guitar). All in live version.👍🤘
Thank you, I will check it out
'old school rock vibe' - exactly! ♥ Manners! '80s & 90s era, but fresh' - kudos on yer reaction/review so far
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Bubble, Blooming, Warning (live) & No God (live)
Thank you I will check that out!
Thank you for your wonderful reaction.
No problem, my pleasure!
G'day KE, really like your comments - probably mirrors a lot of people's experience as they start to explore the music out there. Continue to enjoy the ride!
Thank you, they are a great band!!!
Great observation about Band-Maid's being able to switch up styles without losing their core sound. That's one of the things that attracts me to their music. That, and Japanese Weaving ™ :)
Thanks for your reaction. In return I suggest Blooming, official MV, have fun! :)
Ok thank you, I'll check it out!
Who would have thought Ay ! :) PO!
Hello there. I'm just stopping by to add some love to the Saiki Appreciation Simp Society. SASS!
She is just amazing here. Not only can you hear the intensity in her voice, but thanks to all the close-ups, you can see it on her face. What a rock star! Excellent job by the whole band (as usual), but Saiki stole the show for me, anyway.
Yeah she is very talented without a doubt
@@TheKillogicEffect Christmas Day last year they did an acoustic online show and it's really striking just how good she is. *Catharsis* has been released on youtube - ruclips.net/video/tx9h41gaNo0/видео.html - and if you want, compare and contrast with the album version on the Band-Maid channel, select playlists, and look in Albums & Singles for the *Conqueror* playlist. It is track 13 カタルシス (no music video).
KANAMI asked Herman Li (Dragon Force) what the fastest song he plays (225bpm) Kanami stated that 220 was her fastest (BLACK HOLE) but she would write a song for 225bpm.

I like your reaction, thank you. I'm tired of phrases that are just loud noises for no reason. I've waited a long time for music that gives me a simple but heartfelt riff and a cool groove.
Thank you, they are certainly a breath of fresh air in my music world thats for sure!!!
Akane (drummer) reminds me a lot of Jean-Paul Gaster from Clutch in this song. Actually, this whole song sounds a lot like something Clutch would write aside from Kanami's guitar solo.
I was listening to one of their earlier albums and one of the songs feels like something from Henery Rollins Band. It's crazy how they do this shit. Misa is easily up there with Clay Gobert (from Polyphia) as one of my favorite bassists.
The mix of sounds and grooves they have going on is crazy but it works great!
Do you realize that you have an amazing look, a bit of makeup and you are an X-Men playing with Wolverine, you can be an Amish, a Viking or Zeus with the Greeks. I can very well imagine you as ''sheep of the sea'' name given to European navigators by the Chinese because after months of travel... their long hair and beards amused the Chinese.
Thank you!
Thanks K! Really enjoyed your audio set up!
Glad you enjoyed it!
It is my duty to inform you that it is now time to learn the names before going further.
Saiki - lead vocals
Kanami - lead guitar
Misa - bass
Akane - drums
Miku - rhythm guitar / vocals
This is not optional, po!
AMEN to that - there are some outstanding bands and groups from all around the world, in many different genres and sub-genres.
It doesn't mean you have to know the language(s), just think of the vocals as another instument.
Heck, I see a LOT of "metal" reactors becoming big followers of korean "pop", with many 'metal' bands playing covers of them - BLACKPINK* is a big favourite, and I've seen a metal cover that went over very well at a concert - wouldn't say it could have been a rough gig, but they did play behind a steel mesh screen - luckily the grown loved it.
Another favpourite is Stray kids - "God's Menu" or "Thunderous" may be good intros there.

Awesome thanks I will check this out!!!
Unassuming, versatile and awesome yes. Thanks for the reaction and the great different music in the world banter at the end ;-)
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
for a change of pace you need to see their acoustic stuff ... they have a couple songs up on their channel that prove ..A- they are great.. and B.. 3/5 of Band Maid is greater than 5/5 ths of most bands....
Great suggestion thank you!
Excellent reaction. These two songs split some fans a bit- as you said, classic bluesy rock then hard rock/metal. I love 'em both.
Thank you, they are an incredible band!
😁
I'm at the point now with Band Maid that I don't need to understand what Saiki is singing about. I get all I need from her tone and attitude. I'm more interested in the music anyway and her voice to me is just another instrument that fits in so great with the others. And the "others" have to be the tightest group of musicians out there. Each one is the best with their particular instrument and together they are flawless. I'm 61 and Kanami has inspired me to learn to play the guitar.
I hope you stick with it the guitar is a very satisfying instrument to learn
Bearded Bro!
Greetings under a sunny sky again with snow-capped Mount Fuji in the distance!
Superb reaction!
Thank you so much for the great promotion of World music!
I have lived in Japan for a long time and I had been drifting away from traditional rock and metal and even jazz, but as you said Japan and many countries have opened Pandora boxes everywhere to give a new birth to the music we like so much!
This is what I would call a "sweet and sour" double reaction!
It shows their technical prowess enabling them to explore all genres. Their repertoire is mind blowing with not two similar songs!
Reactors and commentators refer more to live or semi-live concerts for good reasons but exploring all their albums, expecially Conqueror will reveal how far and wide they venture.
I would like to suggest another "sweet and sour" double reaction (follow the links in that order. These two particular songs are the rare ones better than live, which I mentioned before are too pared down)
1-Daydreaming, a ballad with a surprise: ruclips.net/video/RCaeUkrItyY/видео.html
2-Warning, in your face metal rock: ruclips.net/video/9yD3IqrLtPk/видео.html
I will enjoy your surprised smile again!
Best regards,
Robert-Gilles
Greetings and thank you! I wanted to show these two together because I think its a great example of their sound and versatility. Im glad they play over here in the states I would love a chance to see them. Thank you for the links I will check them out!
@@TheKillogicEffect Cheers, Bro! They have already declared that another US tour is on the cards soon! I think they will probably tour the US and Europe and Mexico next year if a certain Russian idiot leaves us in peace!
You will have to be on the lookout for many other Japanese bands, though!
Sass Jordan - there's a new comparison...
Great reaction. Their talent is stunning.
Thank you, they are an incredible band for sure!
👍👍👍👍👍
Brother...are you running BOOST/EQ on that playback? That sound seemed to just jump right out. Killer sound. Wish all reaction channels sounded this good.
no not outside of what OBS provides I just played with the levels until I thought it was something more presentable for the people watching / listening . They are an awesome band Im looking forward to checking out more from them!!!!
Saiki is more akin to a Japanese Pat Benatar...yeah, she is THAT good.
I think Saiki is better than Pat Benatar. I especially like the way Saiki growls when she sings.
